Samsung Galaxy s ii to metro pcs - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I flash my samsung galaxy s ii from sprint to metro pcs?
I've heard it can be done but haven't been able to find the instructions.

Sprint Galaxy SII is the Epic 4g Touch, which is a different phone, and has its own (different) forum. Check there.

If your profile is accurate, and you're a Boost Mobile customer, then you have an Epic 4G Touch variant of the Galaxy SII. As I said in post 2, the Epic 4g Touch is a different phone, and has its own (different) forum. Check there.

You missed my point.
Boost Mobile, Metro PCS, Sprint, Virgin Mobile, Verizon - whatever. They are all carriers that run on CDMA networks. This post is currently in the forum for the GT-I9100, which is a GSM phone that doesn't work on any CDMA networks - at all. And never will.
Your own signature says you have an SPH-D710 - which is an Epic 4G Touch.
But I guess this point is moot - it appears from your post history that you have figured out your issue and have successfully flashed your Epic 4G Touch to work on the Metro PCS network.

Yes. Virgin Mobile USA is a virtual operator that piggy-backs on Sprint's network. Virgin Mobile Canada runs on a different network.

Can someone direct me to Galaxy S II Sprint (sph-d710) section?

Tried looking under "find your phone" but I can't find the spring version (sph-d710) I do see other carriers except for sprint. I don't want to brick the phone by using another carrier rom.
I think I found it, correct me if I am wrong, the phone is a Epic 4G Touch. So why the hell is it called Galaxy S 2?

That is the right one (Epic 4G Touch). As to why it is called both Galaxy S II and Epic 4G Touch, you'd have to ask Samsung.

[Q] will Galaxy S3 have 4g connection capabilities on THREE UK?

I am interested to know if samsung galaxy s3 will be compatible with 4g in the UK on the 3 network.

No it won't. The current S3 does not have the hardware required for 4G. A new version that does support 4G will be released soon.
If you have the gt-i9300 which you probably do......you are out of sheer luck like us all !!!!! Grrrrr......
Three UK wont have any 4G infrastructure for a while anyway.

I don't think the radio from the ATT LGOG works with TMO LTE.
Is there anyway to flash another radio that would let u get 3g or 4g something other than Edge.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I just ordered this phone today so I can't speak from experience, but T-mobile LTE should work with the right settings. From what I've read the AT&T Optimus G (E970) has support for LTE on frequencies 700mhz and 1700mhz, T-mobile also uses 1700mhz for their LTE. Some areas in the US might let it get HSPA as well. If everything is unlocked and you're using a T-mobile SIM card then you should just need the correct APN settings. This link should help:

Hey - just went through this for an ATT i747 (Samsung Galaxy S3). Someone in the forum provided the Tmobile bootloader, modem and platform and att CSC. It ended up being what T-mobile used to tested their LTE network using ATT i747. Works great get 4G LTE. Figure will need the same type of code for the LG-E970 bootloader, modem, and platform. Still having to use ATT CSC.
On the other forum they offered up a bounty to get it done.
Could do the same thing.
You're the millionth person to ask. No, it won't work. Not going to bother pointing out why anymore. No tmo version of the lgog exists.

[Q] How to force Verizon Galaxy S4 to use gsm 2G outside of USA

Hello everybody
My cousin from the USA bring me a Verizon Galaxy S4, I putted a local gsm carrier sim card and it worked fine, I have rooted it and installed hyperdrive on it, but the problem is that it's always on the gsm 3g network which consumes a lot of battery and I can't force it to use the 2g network since this option isn't available unlike the international version of the galaxy s4
Is there any way to force it to use 2g gsm network?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda premium
Verizon does not use any form of GSM. You are more likely on a CDMA network.

Maybe install Elixir 2? Maybe choosing network priority if there is any. The guy above has no idea what you are asking about.

The problem is there is no option to force the phone to use the 2g only like for the i9500
I have installed the liquiezmooth Rop which is Aosp rom and it has this option, then i went back to my nandroid back up and now it use the 2g only !

Download the app from the store called phone info. Open it and select gsm only. This way you'll force the phone to work on 2g(gsm).

Hi,
My uncle has got me a new Verizon S4 from USA in India. He did not turn it on in USA neither he has activated the phone. He simply got me the box packed phone.
I inserted an Indian GSM SIM card and switched it on, it did recognize the service provider and then asked me couple of questions to select languages and all.
However it does not select a Network Operator. My Network operator is Airtel. It shows a List of Local Network Operators but when i select any of them, it says "Registering on selected network operator" but then it fails.
Can some one help me over come it and how i can use this phone in India?
Try to add apn for your provider and chose to search for the network automatically. Should work.
