Hi All, I have the Samsung Ace, GT-S5830D with the 2.3.4 Gingerbread and the baseband version is TLKI4. I've rooted it and unlocked it. It works well on the stock rom. The BIG thing is I want to REMOVE the stock Telus boot animation and put something cool in its place. Maybe a new good rom as well? Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance. Thom
I can help you getting rid of bootoff animation
Changing bootanimation is only possible in custum roms cause samsung on stock roms use a qmg file as bootanimation file
You can shut bootanimation off aswell and replace it but you'll get stuck in a bootloop!
and that sucks

I agree with KcLKcl. Its pretty easy to enable custom bootanimations on stock ROMs if you own a S-5830

You can try this. Just do it to change.
bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg:
system/media
csc/TLS/media(if you have CWM, you can skip it. it will be make fix boot animation change to stock when you go to recovery mode.)
shutdown.qmg:
system/media/video/shutdown
csc/TLS/media/video/shutdown
and set permission

So, set permission to all files you pasted and reboot.

don't use custom rom now!! use stock rom for sometime!!
root your phone 1st do some basic mods then go for custom rom when u are bored with with stock!!

On the other hand, you have all the instructions in the CM7 thread. Don't be a f**** and read the install guide from there.

am saying him to try everything but not now!! cz most users f*** up their phones by trying stuffs when they are newbie so am telling him to try those stuffs after learning more abt Android & flashing
Edit: IMO i recommend u to use SPEEDMOD kernel or SIYAH kernel over stock cz speedmod is good in terms of speed & battery compared to stock & siyah is best in battery backup flashing kernel won't change UI & some kernel like speedmod won't support custom ROM's dunno abt siyah i think it supports custom too

U said about speedmod n other one,wheare can I get those n how can I update plz give me the links n also tell me if I don't like them can I revert back to thia original custom ROM....?? Plz rly,tanq

here's the link for speed mod use the stable kernel 16 am on v17 test-1 & that is perfectly fine
dunno abt siyah, i hink it has custom clock!!
i recommend u to use SPEEDMOD!!
u can make even stock kernel like custom upto certain limit if u are on XWKF3 temme i hv an mod for battery, auto color change to green in notif when connected to gtalk & CRT screen off!!
& i hv musicplayer.apk customised by me to look like itunes cz Samsung default album art looks cheap!!
i also have mod to use volume keys for camera
volume keys can & musicplayer.apk works on any firmware
u can freeze apps u don like with titanium backup i freezes game hub & readers
don't forget to take cam bakup
before flashing & this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!
& take an cwm as soon as u root & copy it to pc !!

SpeedMOD can be used for any version cz its just a kernel !!
u can have different kernel, Modem & ROM in a phone (Mostly but i can be wrong read every line of mother post in a thread before flashing & read some user feedbacks too)

Kernel wont change look of ur phone its just an intermediator between OS & hardware which decides speed & other hrdware properties !!
& about ur concern yes u can but u don need to go back to stock

Its maybe due to low /system space. You cannot do anything about that. Maybe delete some useless .apk files from /system and try again.

i have same bugs as yours after flash this mod
i'm on DN3v3+240dpimodpack by mannyvinny
I love this mod, but in camera app.i got a freeze.
If somebody want to try this mod,please do nandroid backup first.

Sir, there are a few bugs in this mod. The animation is really nice but my cell begins to freeze. There are some problems which are arising after flashing this mod like:
Sudden restarts
Some games(like NFS MW)freezing
etc.
Please make a fix for this.....

Confirmed, i reverted back to original service.jar of my rom, no random reboots at all. From my observation, it tends to reboot while it accesses my sdcard for large data while rotating the screen. I dont know about you guys... But i can live without the crt off effect of it is too buggy...

make a copy of the files you downloaded, open the copied file, open the rom archive, go to /system/framework, copy the service.jar to the first archive and flash it.

Hey bro I m using cwm 6.0.3.7 it told me day installation aborted do u need to mount anything or do anything before flashing zip plz help m bored wd Samsung boot animation
Install root browser.
Extract the file from above archieve.
And copy and overwrite bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop to system -> media.
And copy and copy the file in video folder and replace it in system->media->shutdown-> paste here.
And reboot.

but i found an awesome way for bootanimation
i enabled bootanimation.zip support
so u can put the bootanimation.zip in system/media
and reboot to do the trick if u wanna no how ask me ill send u the method
as all othr non samsung phone have this method only
and i downloaded google bootanimation.zip and got the google animation
