[Q] Nandroid and internal sdcard - HTC Rezound

Hi! When doing a nandroid backup, do the default settings backup the contents of the internal sdcard? I just flashed a ROM and forgot to backup some data that was on the internal sdcard, wondering if I can retrieve it from the nandroid I did just before the ROM flash. Thanks!

External... You can use a file manager and check yourself.

Thanks for the info. I browsed through the backup but couldn't find what I wanted.

If you're using Amon Ra, the backup is on your external sd in a folder called nandroid. There will be a subfolder inside the nandroid folder and your backups are in that subfolder.

[Q] app2sd changing SD card

Could someone please confirm the process to me for changing an SD card when you current one already has an ext app2sd partition?
This is my guess but would like confirmation before I go at it.
Go to recovery console
Nandroid + ext backup
Copy nandroid backup to PC
Partition new SD
Copy nandroid to new SD
Nandroid restore from console
Thanks
Never mind, found the answer in the CDMA forums

Yes, backups are stored on the sdcard. Copy your backup to your computer first

[Q] backup and restore questions

Howdy,
I searched but couldn't find the answer. I have a 32 gb sd card which I inserted, formatted and mounted into my phone. I can copy and paste files from the phone storage and files to it, and vice versa, but when I backup and restore using clockwork mod, it never gives me a choice to backup to external sd card, or to restore from external sd card.
I've tried everything, but can't get clockwork mod to recognize the external sd card. Any suggestions?
Also, if I try to install a zip file from SD card, Clockwork mod does see the card and the files on it, but it just won't list it as a choice to restore from or to backup to.
AFter a bit thinking about it, I guess my question is whether I can backup and restore directly to and from external sd card, or whether I backup and restore to internal card, and then just copy the file to and from my sd card using file manager or explorer?
backup and restore should by default go to external sd. Which version of cwm do you have?

Deleting unneeded files/folders

Question: I want to just erase all of the useless folders and files installed by apks, with the exception of my apk+data backups in titanium, & install a fresh ROM. I've deleted the obvious folders/files installed by apks, but there are some I'm iffy on, and i don't want to risk deleting anything important. Would wiping my internal storage in TWRP before flashing a ROM delete my titanium backups? Thanks!
Wiping internal storage in recovery would delete EVERYTHING that is stored on the internal memory (16GB) of your phone.
If your titanium backup folder is located on your internal storage, then yes wiping internal memory will delete that folder.

So is this something you only do before flashing RUU from bootloader, as your custom recovery is then deleted? Curious now
Why aren't you saving your titanium backups to the external sd card? Then you could safely wipe your internal sdcard using twrp and then reinstall what ever rom your running and start with a fresh phone with out all those left over files from old installs.

[Q] Four questions about Nandroid backups

Hi,
Having CWM installed on the recovery partition, I tried to perform a Nandroid backup to the microSD card.
As I cannot find any valid partition system on the SDCard after the backup, I have the following questions :
1) Should the microSD card be formatted before making the Nandroid backup, and should it be in FAT16 or FAT32 ?
2) Which is the nature of a Nandroid backup : an ".img" file containing all partitions as well as the folders and files in them ?
The backup does not seem cloning the partitions but copying files from a mounted filesystem.
Is the backup some kind of archive of the copied files ?
3) At the beginning of the backup process, CWM tells "SD Card space free 6301 MB", whilst the microSD card is only 1 GB.
Does this mean that I need a 8 GB sd card to perform the full backup ?
4) To extract files from the backup using Windows or Linux, should I then use the "unyaffs" utitity ?
Thanks.
