[Mods] ICS Blue icons for CleanRom 4.0 3/18 - HTC Rezound

I started making some icons from scratch. In this update I did the sync, vibrate and alarm icons. These will only work on Mike D's mods...The first mod will only update SystemUI with Mike D's mods. (Thanks for letting me use the SystemUI apk Mike). The second mod will update Rosie with the transparent navbar as well as the "All Apps" removed and the icon centered. Again, thanks to Mike D for the SystemUI mods he's doing. Both of these mods take advantage of the xhdpi port Mike did earlier. So all the icons are crisp and clear. I will work on all the icons, but it takes time drawing them from scratch.

I sent you a PM

OK, just installed and all looks great. Thanks!

Awesome work. Way to tag team.

Awesome work! Thanks. It's great to see three different people making mods for CleanROM. Much appreciated.

awesome work on the theme man! any chance this will work with BAMF ICS?

Theming GingerBlur 2.x

I was going to put this in the GingerBlur 2.5 thread, but got the smackdown for not having enough posts yet
I was thinking of theming kenneth's great GingerBlur ROM, but have noticed that some of the files seem to be in different places than expected.
It would be helpful if there was any guide or how-to on what .png files would need to be modified to theme particular areas specific to this ROM.
For example I had thought to change the color of the notification bar background you'd find statusbar_background.png in framework-res/res/drawable...alas nothing to be found.
Thanks!
I also want to change the lockscreen slider img.
The vast majority of your editable pngs are in drawable-hdpi, but many of them are draw-9 pngs and require some special handling to alter.

Lockscreen slider is a draw-9 png in the framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi folder. In order to alter it you would need to decompile the apk, as opposed to simply extracting it, change the image, and then recompile the apk. I am planning on starting a thread in the near future as a guide/discussion for theming.
Hey guys! Super glad that you all want to theme GingerBlur. I will encourage you to go ahead and wait until the release of GingerBlur 3.0.
Version 3.0 will have a re-worked framework that can be decompiled more easily. Theming will be a breeze!
Good luck!
Awwww man..

Awwww... I've themed it already.. lol.. here are some shots... I got some of this stuff from the Galaxy S Poison Green theme, with a few of my own tweaks... and still a work in progress as I have more time to match the other parts to the theme... this is with fly-in affect... looking forward to the 3.0 update

coool, cant wait. There are some aspects that I like changing (text colors mainly) and I hope it really is going to be a breeze. Changing images are easy in any case though. It's the text stuff that are tough.
Wow man that theme you got there looks pretty awsome!

Thanks... It's pretty much a mirror of that theme, but not as customized as Tones.. don't have that much time to mess with all the features
The origianl Galaxy S them has Blue, Green, and Red themes of the same.... which is where we both got the theme from to put it on the Atrix..
FYI some icons are in system/app/systemui.apk

Awesome news and a sincere thank you for all of your concerted efforts! Quick general question: do you know if Android supports transparency in the notification bar (the actual static bar at the top)?
I would assume so given they are .png; I think it would be pretty cool if you could have your notifications floating on top of your wallpaper.
adding transparency is not as simple as just editing the png's...you will also need to edit the services.jar in the framework (i think)...i know that is true for adding transparency to the notification bar dropdown...also after some research, launchers such as adw and launcher pro may cut off the wallpaper underneath the status bar, not sure about the stock motoblur launcher, so adding transparency may be pointless...
a more experienced dev or android user may know a bit about this...but i'm just sharing what i know...

How could you keep such good goodies only yourself? Or did you post your here somewhere?
Me would like it very much!
Thanks!

Edit: Sorry! those beautiful screenshots got me a head-rush! I read later it's work-in-progress. gold luck.

that's not true, i use paint.net and make transparencies on many of my png's, then simply add them back to the apk and vola.

please make a thread! i'm a little confused, i use 7-zip to extract (which you say is a no no), then change the images (even the .9's, i just add .png to the end, and yes i know that's a no no but that's the point of being deodexed, so you can throw any png in there and either match the name or change the xml, in my case, it works everytime....), throw them back into the apk, and either root exploror the framework back (with an immiediate reboot) or adb it in in between boots (the way your suppose to do it, unless you make an zip to flash which i don't know how).
this method works for me, but if you use root explorer, the rom erases your dialer history (odd, never happened on the cappy).
p.s. this isn't a guide, if somebody does this and bricks their phone, they can hold me responsible and sue me (as i have nothing, nor a job). but seriously, backup your framework and know how to use adb if you want to mod your framework...

The bar is a normal png, you can transparent it fine without any fancy coding.
Yes, the status bar image is a standard png and can be made transparent. However, the wallpaper does not expand behind where the status bar is - so even if you make your status bar transparent, some color needs to be represented behind it. I went into drawables.xml and set the status_bar_background to transparent as well but it still shows up black for the homescreen, it does stay transparent for apps though and shows up differently based on what app is running (aka, for words with friends it shows the blue stripes - but not when I screen cap). Here are some images of what I mean.
- black on the homescreen, wallpaper must not extend that high
- see straight through to the notifications
- shows more grey on my phone than here

There is a brilliant ICS theme for cyanogenmod 7 . Though the ICS theme in the market is nice, but this one is ultimate --> ICS By Achep !! This one is a lot closer to the real ICS looks...

[CM10/CM9/AOKP Theme] MotoInspired v2.0 (JB only) [update 18/12]

Hello guys, this is my first cm9 theme via theme chooser. I kinda like some elements of the moto ui graphics and that's where the name from. It's not a motoblur theme but rather my personal taste. It's blue oriented. Note that I do not have the latest cm9 release (im on Quarxs 26.05) and it's possible that there is something that I do not see or something that you do not see. Bugs are possible, my mistakes are also possible. Here is how it looks:

Used icons from Moto Razr, Moto Defy, custom ones, also for the other ui elements that I changed. For the ones that I took few elements for my theme i gave credits (sorry for forgetting your names) and for soudy1994 which theme I used as a base for start and learning things.
This has been said but I'll say again: if you got a theme error when applying hit the Apply anyway. Or if you got a message telling you that the theme is not compiled properly or something like that switch to system theme (if you are using custom one) reboot then switch, or reboot twice.
Version 2.0 is for JB only, cause it has themed contacts and mms that don't work on ICS. If anyone wants ICS update I'll need testers. Also I'll need testers with XHDPI phones, cause I don't have one.

[x][THEME] deSensed ICS v1.1 ~ Source Files up for Download

THIS THEME IS NO LONGER IN DEVELOPMENT!
The aim of this project was to remove Sense and provide a clean UI until stable pure-Android ROMs were released. We have now reached that point and I find that it is no longer necessary to continue the development of a theme that only removes ugly from a bloated skin. I urge you to consider giving these ROMs a try and bid farewell to Sense (awesome hardware paired with awesome software is bliss).
However, I understand that some people will always prefer Sense, and that is okay. This is why I will provide the community with a zip of the raw files I was working on in case someone wants to take over the project. Please do NOT reply to this thread.

deSensed ICS
Last Updated: 9/25/2012
፨ INTRODUCTION ፨
I don't like Sense.
I used to. In Gingerbread it kind of did spice up the UI and even now some of its non visual features are still useful. But when ICS came out, I believe it rendered Sense UI moot. ICS, to me, is the most beautiful mobile UI design to date and while I like HTC hardware, I can't stand their software. Unfortunately, for now we can either flash a AOSP ROM with some things broken or are stuck with nasty gradient Sense. Well. That ends today.
This mod aims to replace as much of the Sense UI with stock ICS as possible. It will take some time to get it complete but I want to put up the progress as I do it here so everyone can benefit and have a little bit less Sense on their phones with every update. As a matter of fact, we might even have a full working ICS/JB stock build before I ever get this to the point I want to get it at.
The theme is not completed. Look at the changelog for more details.
፨ DISCLAIMER፨
Before we get into the screenshots and the download itself, please keep in mind the following:
As cliche as this is: Anything you do to your phone is your OWN responsibility. No one will be responsible for any damage you cause but yourself.
This is my first major modification, there will be bugs and errors. Please point them out if you see them and I will get them fixed
Some things (like the data icon (3G, 4G) won't look like they do in stock ICS because of the way Sense messes with those icons. But it's replacement will carry on the spirit of stock.
This theme is intended to be used with a third party ICS-like launcher (like Nova or Apex). I will not be theming Rosie (the default Sense launcher).
Hit thanks if you like it it's a small gesture that goes a long way for me!
፨ SCREENSHOTS፨
፨ DOWNLOAD ፨
*** UPDATE: I run CM10 as my daily driver and because of that I don't have a chance to test out every single update.
I release updates because I know that not everyone can live with non-Sense based ROMs and as a courtesy to the community.
Please proceed with caution. Report bugs and I'll do my best to fix them ***

፨ INSTRUCTIONS ፨
Make nandroid backup.
Place zip on SD card
Flash through recovery
When you boot, open up Personalize app and choose deSensed ICS under Skin.
Have less gradients
(optional) If you want to keep Sense lockscreen, download and flash this AFTER you install the theme.
፨ RECOMMENDED APPS ፨
These are AOSP applications that have been ported to work on our phones. I will not theme the Sense apps whose replacements below work perfectly.
Jellybean Calendar by Tim Hutt. -- Everything works.
Stock Settings by Art2Fly -- Everything works (as is in stock ICS, you will lose Profile/PRL manual updates. Keep Sprint Zone and update through there).
፨ FAQ ፨
Q: I flashed this and the HTC lockscreen is gone! Can I get it back?
A: Yes. All my mod did is rename the HTC lockscreen file. Go to /system/app/ and rename HtcLockScreen.apk.bak to HtcLockScreen.apk reboot and you'll have Sense's lockscreen back. Or download and flash this.
Q: Can you do X, Y or Z?
A: At the moment, I won't do any "special" request. I want to get the entire stock ICS theme in and THEN I'll do extra stuff (like battery % and such). That being said, if you have any part of stock ICS that you want "prioritized" just post and I'll see what I can do
Q: The ROM I use is not supported, what gives?
A: Due to the fact that we have such awesome devs and so many ROMs, it is impossible for me to support them all. Download the generic file that will work with any ROM or if you don't mind losing some tweaks done by your dev, flash another ROMs zip file. I wish I could go back to supporting all ROMs through the villaintheme system but it currently has an issue with the framework-res file. If you know how to fix it, please drop a PM.
Q: I'm running Viper4G but my notification bar isn't transparent and my clock text color is white, why?
A: Viper4G uses its own tweaks to accomplish this. Just launch Venom Tweaks > Status and you can chage the pulldown background transparency and clock color. The hex value I used for the previous releases is #33B5E5 (default ICS color).
፨ BUGS ፨
The quick selection bar (when you select text and cut, copy and paste come up) currently has a background. Can't fix this until we can edit m10 images. Here's a picture of how it is vs how it should be:

፨ CHANGELOG ፨
v 1.1 ~ 9/1/2012

~Dialer FC fixed.
~Fixed app icons and notification icons not being themed.
~Made the notification area semi-transparent again.
~Fixed Sense icons appearing in dropdown notification area.

-Fixed the missing highlight pressed elements (derp).
-Stock messaging app incoming background adjusted to a more ICS like color.
-Changed default emoticons for stock messaging app.

-Themed the dialer (Phone.apk coming later) and changed the font colors & sizes.
-Incoming, outgoing and missed call icons changed.
-Changed default 'unknown' picture on a call to default ICS.
-Minor color, size and positioning adjustments throughout the theme.

~+/- buttons
~Media buttons
~Radio buttons
~Rating stars
~Textbox background highlight
~Text boxes
~Square/rectangle highlights
~Touch highlights
~Number picker buttons
~Seeker bars
~Pop-up box
!These are not the best looking things and Google needs a lesson alongside HTC but they are from ICS stock. It is what pure ICS looks like!
-Changed the default app icons from HTC icons to stock Jellybean for Browser, People, Phone, Mail, Messaging, Settings, Calendar, Clock, Calculator, Gallery and Camera.
v 0.7 ~ 8/6/2012
-Made all notification icons the default ICS transparency (54.999996%).

-Made the GPS locked on icon more accurate.
-Fixed headset icon with the one found in stock ICS, also modeled the headphone icon after it.
-Removed vertical separators between clear and settings button on notification dropdown.
-Subnavigator background and highlight changed to look more like ICS.
-Fixed transparent area on Viper4G between the notification box and the notif/quick settings tabs when background is set to transparent.
-Power menu images replaced with ICS ones.
-Volume pop-up icons changed.
-Quick Setting icons hand tweaked (I'm not a good artist!) and changed.
-Most volume/progress bars changed to Holo style.
-Popup boxes changed to ICS default (try volumes or brightness in settings).
v 0.6 ~ 7/26/2012
-Added support for MeanROM and FreshROM.
-Fixed background on certain textfields.
-Added 4G icons (I think? Need confirmation.)
-Changed the global bottom-option bar to black.
-Sense checkboxes themed to Holo light (sense doesn't offer dark option)
!THE ABOVE DOES NOT INCLUDE SENSE-APPS! THIS IS FOR THIRD PARTY APPS THAT CALL FOR A CHECKBOX FROM THE SYSTEM AND DOESN'T SPECIFY HOLO UI!
-Sens-ified Holo checkboxes rescued back to Holo style.
v 0.5 ~ 7/17/2012
-Started tweaking framework-res, VillainThemeSys causes a bootloop so for now it will replace your stock framework-res file, most mods are in SystemUI anyway.
-Changed the following elements from green to ICS blue when an app calls for Holo UI elements (see screenshots for examples):
~Textfields
~On/Off Switches
~Dropdown boxes
~Scrubbers
~Rating Stars
~Progress Bars
~Picture Borders
~Touch Select Background
~Fast scrollbar
~Dialog Boxes
~Other misc. items from Holo UI
!Some pop up dialogs will still call for Sense elements!
-Black background on some system apps (the rest will come in a future update, along with the above Holo UI elements on Sense apps).
-Text highlight color should now match stock ICS.
-Replaced quickselection pop up to a more ICS like one (HTC stop using these!).
-Adjusted fastscroll on Sense to ICS blue.
v 0.4 ~ 7/11/2012
-Enabled AOSP lockscreen. Script renamed HtcLockScreen.apk to HtcLockScreen.apk.bak, so just remove .bak if you want it *puts on glasses* back.
-Housekeeping, deleted unnecessary files.
-Updated some low quality pictures.
v 0.3 ~ 7/11/2012
-Renamed Matte to the default skin you now have to select, if you don't you wont see the new changes (Settings> Personalization> Skin> deSensed ICS)
-ICS color download bar, sound bar, stars, checkboxes, radio buttons and switches (still Sense-like (for now), but at least blue)
-Text select handles are now from stock AOSP.
-Global ICS titlebar
-Changed text input fields
-Added default ICS wallpaper
v 0.2 ~ 7/9/2012
-Converted .zip to VillainTheme System. It will now work on any ROM without overwriting files.
-Added Sync, airplane mode, bluetooth, alarm, gps, roaming signal bars, 1x, vibrate and silent icons.
-Added headphones icon, stock ICS doesn't have it so I just re-colored Sense's.
-Added a 'null signal' icon for when there is no connection to any tower.
-Changed the small sound bar to Holo style.
-Statusbar clock is now ICS color (#33B5E5).
-Made some icons align better with each other.
v 0.1 ~ 7/8/2012
-Initial release.
-Added WiFi, 3G (edited), signal bars icons.
-Replaced notification screen close & settings icons.
-Changed notification background and bottom bar.
Sounds awesome! I'm looking forward to this!

It will work but Charmeleom mod is one of the ROMs that most heavily modifies system files. You can do a nandroid and flash it that way you can just restore if you prefer Charmeleon's tweaks better.
Once this is in a more completed stage I might make it available universally.
Glad to hear you guys like it

Just installed it on flexs stock with goodies and the top bar looks amazing! Thanks, I love the stock look...keep in mind I'm running 1.52 so the quick settings from this mod are an older version

Yeah I pulled mine from ViperROM that was updated a while back. If you or anyone else wants to pull the newer quick settings I'll cook them into the theme so we can all have the latest one
Also, I should finish all the status icons by tonight (have alarm, airplane mode, gps and a few others already done). I have to decide what to do about the heaphones icon and do a few more and it'll be done, I work first though :\
Love this Thank you so much sir! One request if you can Make a flashable ics battery with percent on it, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for this. I know its the initial release but just a heads up. The Sync icon still white and the roaming signal icons.

Fantastic on this!!! Thank you! I share your sentiments in the OP EXACTLY. EXACTLY. And this looks great. Unfortunately, I'm using a ROM with tweaks, so it would break stuff. But will definitely be using this sometime soon.:beer:
Edit: excellent job on notification dropdown, and +1 on batt %

Awesome job regardless by the way. This is so sick. I was tired of the non ICS icons. The transparent notification pull down is awesome too. Thanks again.

I will eventually add things like battery percentage but I want to get everything themed first. Feel free to edit the apk and my icons around to accommodate that if you don't want to wait though

Indeed, they (along with every other status icon) will be themed with version 0.2 released in a couple of hours

I heard of a way to possibly make the theme universal without it overwriting anything if I can accomplish it tonight everyone will be able to enjoy it without worry.

verizon jedi x transparent request

First of all I would like to thank apen83 for his work on the transparent status bar mod I am running now. His thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231095.
How ever, I am looking for more transparent mods like this. Maybe mms, contacts or settings. Anything like that, maybe even transparent widgets. I would gladly pay for these mods as I am sure many other people would as well.
I should also mention that they should be cor the verizon jedi x rom.
