Did anyone know how can i install ICS style gallery to Gingerbread? I love the new gallery which utilize full screen to view image.

Don't think that's possible, try quickpic from the market its very similar.

Using the CM7 rom now, but do not like the Gallery 3D and camera, did anybody try to use the original Gallery and Camera in CM7 ROM?

are you talking about the Sense Camera? No you cannot. It's built into the sense framework.

so you said that the camera wouldnt work .. but what about the gallery? I love the sense gallery... could search friends facebook pictures from there too among other things .. great gallery.

Anything that requires the Sense frame work to work properly will not work on AOSP.
As much as i like the "sense camera" i refuse to use Sense just to get it. I ran Evil's HD ROM over the week end. Amazing ROM, but i will not put up with the bloat that Sense brings along.

I agree. As much as I may like one little thing out of the Sense framework. I am not going to put up with the rest of the stuff I don't like.
Alot of people use QuickPic instead of the CM7 gallery, it's similar to the Sense gallery in most ways and runs WAYYYYY smoother than the 3d gallery
just search QuickPic in the market, it's a free app
I use quickpic also. Way better than the laggy 3d gallery.

Assuming nobody on stock/blur wants to help you out (I'm on CM7), acknowledge that you just need to download any blur ROM with those, and grab them out of the zip from /system/app. I would download one and do the work for you, but my internet is so slow I can't even Skype my girlfriend. here you go, i took it out from the original 4.5.91 zip file... but i guess you have to have blur for these apps to work (not install over CM7 camera and gallery).

I know this is a little old, but can anyone confirm that this cannot be installed over CM7? I can't stand the gallery app in CM7, and I wouldn't mind getting the blur one back.

No you can't cm7 doesn't have blur or utilize it. It's standalone so you would have to do it on a non aosp rom.

My recommendation would be to download QuickPic from the Market. It's free, and IMHO it blows away both CM7's and Blur's galleries.
Hey all, running Cleanrom ICS, after running a senseless rom I'm sort of hooked on the ICS stock messaging app. If I was to install it would it just work, or do I need to find someone who'd compile it with the Sense framework?
try and install it and see.. if it doesnt work then more things need to be done or its not possible( but i think it is )

Yeah, I had seen that app, but it also has adverts in it. and I'm honestly unsure how to pack the stock ICS messenger into an APK. :/

Anyone know what I need to do to get the messaging APK?
im running the asop messaging app on joelz bamf 0.7 just fine but you can't use the sense messaging app at the same time so with root explorer I renamed the sense mms.apk to mms.bak in case i wanted to revert back to it then pasted the aosp messaging apk into the system app folder and installed from there and it works fine and loads contact photos it just doesn't intergrate with the sense lockscreen.

Yes, CM9 gallery app has been ported to stock long time ago. Check under theme section.
Also, there is "ICS gallery" in Playstore, it's the same AOSP gallery app.

Is it just me or is there no gallery or photo widget under widgets? I would think even the stock jellybean widget would be there but I don't see anything. Can anyone confirm?

I know it's not a widget but that's the closest thing I could find.
Thanks. Just kind of weird. I would have figured they would have included at least the stock gallery widget. Past sense versions were overloaded with gallery widgets so just surprised, especially with how good the camera is.
