So I am in the process of screwing around with things on my CM7'd NC and was hit with something.
The lock screen, is atrocious. It works. It does it's job but it's fugly.
Now me being me, and that means poor I started looking around for various lockscreens on the Google Play and TBH none of them do what I want.
I really, really liked the lockscreen in CM9 and the fact that I could attach my own custom little message to it.
Is there anything like that for CM7? I'd still be on CM9 if HW video acceleration got going on it.
Thanks in advance.
I really wish there was a mod of some sort for this. im searching and have not found one yet. Im keeping up my search and ill let you know if I can find something! Sorry I couldnt help.
Try widget locker from the play market.
Also check out Magic Locker.
late,
Coz
I already looked at those. I was hoping for something with landscape support. I am also working on a Metro UI Project and I could really use a metro style lockscreen.
Have you seen Ripple Lock? It's not the best, but the closest I have seen to cm9 than anything else. I can't post links, but it's in the Play Store.
Yeah I have used that in the past and have given up on anything else for now because I am very busy.
If anyone is still looking for a good app for this, widgetlocker is the way to go. Its got as much customization as anyone could ever ask for, and landscape and portrait support, etc. Its got everything.

Really 75 views and no one has any insight?
This forum is built around the sgh-i777, not the market apps that run on it. The app's dev would be able to help you out better than we would.
I've been wondering if I'd like an app like that, so when I get a chance I'll check it out. But in the mean time, see about emailing the dev.

Thanks but Ive heard tons of ppl talking about how great it is so I figure they would be able to give a little insight on the subject, hoping someone would of had the same problem and offer a helping hand.... but thanks for the advise.
And just an fyi, this fourm is for a specific devise and anything relating to it... Hence the q&a and themes and APPS.
You might want to look in the Android Theme subsection of the Android Hacking and Development section. I know kgill uses that app in a number of his themes.
Or check the Just Reveal blog. Im pretty sure I've seen instructions there. Sorry I don't have a link handy.

yea i do this just fine. I use go launcher so maybe there is somehting in adw overriding what you are doing in multi picture?
also check under advanced settings there is a "workaround for some home ..."
I have mine set to force 5 screen and have go laucher set for 5 desktops. make sure you force that to the number you have in adw.
ok stupid mistake, had to set scrollable wallpaper on adw. Durrrrrr

That's what i was about to say.. hahah
I'd like to start off by saying these are just things I have noticed and am wondering if they are being worked on or if there is nothing to do about it. I'm not trying to complain but I cannot post in the Dev forum yet so I'm posting here trying to figure out the answers.
1. Is there any way to take advantage of more screen? there is a good 1/4 inch of space at the top and bottom of the screen that you cannot use. The only reason I can think of that there would be so much space is because of the remove button on the top when you drag widgets.
2. Google Talk does not work for me by any means. If I try and log in it says I'm offline and when I click on my user name it says that it had a problem and force closes. Anyone else experiencing this?
3. How hard would it be to add virtual looping to the home screens? that is by far my favorite feature of Launcher Pro along with transition animations.
4. When will the dock and icons preferences be fixed?
5. What is the issue with the camera? Is it just the 3D? or is it because the EVO is supporting 3D the drivers are weird to handle?
I'll probably have more questions so I'll update later. I have searched the Joelz ICS thread for these answers and didn't come up with anything. I hope someone could help me with at least most of these questions. I understand programming but I'm not an android developer so keep that in mind. Thanks in advanced

1. I don't get what you're saying by that. In the launcher preferences you can disable the persistent Google search widget so that will open up a tiny bit of space but let's be honest... it doesn't make that much of a difference.
2. Google Talk doesn't work. I'm pretty sure Joel just added it in with further plans for it.
3. The launcher being used is CM's CM9 launcher, Trebuchet, and they have stated that it's in their plans to add in endless scrolling.
4. Again, this is up to CM for when they finish up the first release of the launcher since it's v0.1 alpha right now. Couple of releases off of being added in, and god knows how long til it's 100% functional. CM is generally quick.
5. It'll be just like the long haul that was getting camera to work on 2.3.x when that was the newest that we had. The camera has extremely odd drivers and it is much easier to fix/re-write for a single camera than two, of which 3D is it's purpose... I think we will have to wait on CM to fix up the camera drivers for ICS before we see any real progress in that department. I'd say camera is a long way off. :l
Hope that helps you to some degree!

That did help a lot thanks. For the first question yeah you can disable the persistent search bar but it doesn't seem like you gain that space back. Its just empty space then. Can't even resize widgets to go all the way to the top. I would say I lose almost an inch of screen space which is significant to me at least. I like my clock widget to be at the very top but on my phone it looks like its in the middle.
for question 5. So your saying even non 3D will be a while for the ICS ROMs?
Thank you for your help I really appreciate it
You can try another launcher. Go launcher works pretty good with Joelz ics rom.
And yeah, you don't get any space back when removing the search bar. That's there for the buttonless phones.

Yeah I feel like running a different launcher kind of takes away from ICS. I am hoping to keep it as my default launcher. but if no development is made I'll probably go to Launcher Pro
I recently came across the Listener Launcher which takes a different approach to launchers and I love it because I'm absolutely tired of the default jellybean/ics launcher and lock screen. But of course, if I change those, I can't stand the status bar and notification drawer being the same/stock/looking alike the other parts of the ROM/OS.
So my question is, does anyone know of any good apps or even ROMs that I could use on my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket that fundamentally changes the look and feel of my Android phone? I don't really like mixing tons of random apps together because it looks terrible and I can't stand it. Yeah, I know, you can say I'm OCD about it. Just looking for a good ROM/Launcher/Suite that changes up Android.
I know about GO Launcher and those apps, I haven't tried them, but I've seen them and they're not really what I'm after. They just re-style/theme the basic launcher lol.
Thanks for reading and or helping, if you do.

I would have much rather asked this in the ViperDNA thread, but I cannot post there, being a new XDA user.
I really like ViperDNA, however I want to reduce the number of home screens on the desktop.
(I know, you actually only have one home screen.. There's just no better way to say it..)
Please let me know if you know the AOSP Launcher name/version that ViperDNA uses, or how to reduce the number of Home screens,
I played with it for a couple hours and I couldn't figure it out anyway, I used the XDA search and google as well, never finding any real info on it.
Thanks for the help!
Hey guys. I'm the type of person who loves his phone to be like a second home. My friend had an HTC Desire HD and it impressed me so much i actually wanted to but it off him, even though its about 2x worse in specs than my current phone, but it has the most beautiful user interface i've ever seen.
I'm talking about the HTC DHD weather unlock animation.
I first noticed it when i asked the friend to make a call and upon unlocking the phone the screen froze over and it started to snow, it was pretty amazed by how good it looked, and how accurate it was since it was really snowing outside.
Here it is. ( not my video, but exactly the same thing)
HTC Desire HD Weather Animation Snow - YouTube
I think this is one of the best looking widgets/launchers i've ever seen, and i have a question, not as much as a request.
I do know that this is "exclusive" to sense, most likely 3.0, but would it be theoretically possible to rip out the launcher/weather widget you saw in the video?
I am NOT asking for any warez, just some instructions, i feel like i'm dedicated enough to work with this for a few days just to get it.
I'm currently using a SONY Xperia GO , and i would like to port the needed things to it from sense (3.0?) to it. How do i do it?
Maybe someone knows a similar app that does this and looks like it.. But so far i've downloaded 20+ widgets/apps from the play store and didn't find anything ever NEAR as beautiful, or as functional. Most of the apps/widgets require you to click on the widget to see a weather animation, thats not what i want.
TL;DR : How do i port the sense (3.0?) launcher/weather widget? Is there an app that is as functional and looks similar?
Thanks in advance.
It's VERY difficult to port proprietary UI stuff like Sense based things to other devices. So much of Sense is not just based on the apps, but also on the framework-res.apk, systemUI,apk, and another one - htc.resources or something of the sort. Been a bit since I was that deep into HTC stuff. There just aren't going to be any easy or elegant solutions to this. As for a half assed work around, Go Locker claims to have animated weather stuff on the lockscreen in it's free version. Couldn't hurt to check it out? They have TONs of themes, but I find the Go Locker and Launchers to be a bit laggier than some. HTC has started adding some of their apps into the Play Store, including Blinkfeed, but something tells me that there won't really be a way for them to add the lockscreen as a standalone option.
