Help me, can anyone give me a link to download stock kernel SK17i?
I don't know what is your problem but you can use Wotan server to install a stock kernel and generic firm. Just Google it.
Thanks. Just want to get back to factory setting without custom kernel..
I need stock kernel with img file

Best way to get everything back to stock is to use WontanServer. That will replace your kernel and your ROM back to Sony's stock. I used it and everything is perfect.
Thanks for all...I've been used Wotanserver and succes

Hi,
Can anybody tell me if i root my s2 (currently on KF3 firmware) with cf method and flash stock kernel, will i be able to install new ROMS like litening etc,how ?, and will i be able to come back to my stock firmware and kernel, and how ?
thanks in advance !
You can flash any Custom firmware anytime, without root. And you can go back to Stock firmware and kernel anytime.
Regards.
so if i root(by a method you earlier told me),can i also use any rom on that ?if yes then how and also can you please tell me how to come back to stock rom(before flashing with custom rom) state ?
You just need to add the .tar file of the Custom firmware in PDA section of Odin and flash, same for Stock ROM.
Regards.
you can root your phone as ihappy said but use the threads on the forums to find the stock kernels and roms that suit you. and i mean by what region you at. most of the custom roms come with root anyway so i would not worry about rooting. the thing is though whenever you do flash always make backup. first time i flashed i did not do backup and i was panicking on how to go back to stock.but thankfully the guys in this community are the best around and helped me out. hope my post helped in anyway
which kernel should be used for the stock .62 firmware. I dont want stock kernel since i want root and cwm
(bootloader unlocked via official method by sony)
try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440161
or this one if you want to overclock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910
its probably the most stable kernel for beginners
Rage kernel recomended.I use this one since i got my mini, that is 3 months and so far absolutely no problem.
Rage Kernel or X Kernel, last one requires also custom WLAN modules, which are also in the topic. Both have worked fine for me, your own choice, which one you want. Didn't notice any difference in battery consumption between these two kernels.
thnx everyone. pls tell me the order of installation of kernal and rom. which one should i install first? and do i need both .42(for rooting) and .62(for upgrading)
First kernel, then ROM.
Hey Folks,
I Googled, I really did, so don't get angry at me...
As many others, I updated my phone to ICS, and found it really disappointing. Laggy, choppy, and the UI was messed up in few places(like getting to favorites in phonebook). Not to mention the annoying notification LED issue.
So, I went and installed CM 9.1 and tried also the CM 7.2.
Didn't like it, decided to go back to latest stock Gingerbread.
What is the latest OFFICIAL GB?
I've seen a thead about 4.0.2.a.62 on XDA forums, but the link to rapidshare wasn't working. I tired one I found on shady site(yeah, I know, stupid), but it had issues with physical qwerty, and I just didn't trust the software of a random site.
Currently, I'm running 4.0.2.a.58, but I'm receiving notification about an update to .62 via the update center in the phone, but it fails to install. (probably cause I put in a boot.img from CM 9.1 package) Also, the notification is annoying as hell. Any way to remove it?
Can someone please point me to the latest, RELIABLE GB rom? Also, is there a way to put back the original recovery image? (working download links and step by step instructions for a noob would be very appreciated)
To sum it up, how do I get my phone to be like a regular, stock phone from SE with the latest 2.3.4 android?
And no, there is no Sony service point in my country, and the vendor previously refused to honor the warranty and roll back official ICS to GB.
Welcome to the forum. Thread moved, please post all your question threads here in Q&A in future.
Also normally common questions can be answered by reading the sticky threads at the top of General like this one as they normally cover all the basics.
Thanks
AvRS
Of course you can't do an over the air update on unlocked boot loader, this can brick your phone!
The latest official firmware is 4.0.2.A.0.62 and for Germany (only?) .69 that you can download as a flashable zip
There is no recovery image, xperia devices don't have a stock recovery
You could flash a prerooted kernel for gingerbread (e.g. rage kernel), boot in cwm and flash .69 :good:
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.1

Thank you for the information
Now, is there a tested and working .62 image laying around? I've found one, but it messes with my qwerty, and I don't know where it came from and if someone put in bits that shouldn't be there....
The ones shown here in the forums is 4.0.2.A.0.42... (I have the sk17i model)
Hello,
I cannot mount my SD cards in Android and also in ClockworkMod Recovery. So I decided to send it for warranty.
I currently have Xperia Pro (MK16i, Central Europe) with CyanogenMod 10.1, some non-stock kernel an of course unlocked bootloader.
I couldn't find any guide how to restore everything to out-of-the-box state and I would like to write some guide, but I need your help guys.
I guess that what I need to do is this: (in order)
Flash the stock kernel using Flashtool
Flash the stock ROM using Flashtool (as SD card is not working on my phone)
Lock the bootleader
I found this ({PRO} Complete List of Roms) great post with stock ROMs. I can find the stock firmware but I cannot find stock kernel. Could someone point it for me? Or is the kernel included in firmware?
Then I found this tutorial for Xperia Arc to Relock bootloader. It some file, I should flash it with FlashTool and it should lock the bootloader.
Am I right? Could you please revise my steps and confirm me or tell me what is wrong?
Thank you in advance
I flashed some custom rom, replaced kernel for years, but now the phone is damn slow and features are disabled .. As I remember, the firmware that came with the phone were the fastest. So, need to flash it back to the very first stock kernal and firmware.. I guess the very first firmware is 2.3 when the Neo-V first released to public. So, can anybody please provide me the download link for stock firmware and kernel ?
Regards!
