change songs using physical buttons - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
I know CM can do this, but the volume keys are quite uncomfortable in my xperia phone. My phone has 3 front physical buttonsn and I would love to do something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is it possible?
Thanks.

nobody?

I would also like to know this.
For any former TCPMP users on Windows Mobile, you could easily map buttons to do all sorts of things within the player. Nothing has come along for Android that is anywhere near the capabilities of this player. You'd probably need root to do this on Android but I think there is demand for it.

As far I know, you can edit the keyboard layout to make that. Te problem is that you would lose the back/menu buttons...

If someone can show you a solution, it will get your phone model sales higher. Because your requirement seems very useful.

[Q] Using the X10mini Pro as BT-keyboard

I've been thinking about this thing, and tried to search around on the net, but haven't found anything yet.
Do you guys think it's possible to make the mini Pro into a bluetooth keyboard for like media centers and even other phones without HW-keyboards? I know that a BT-keyboard from ebay doesn't cost that much, but when we got a phone with HW-keyboard, touch surface and BT in the first place, why not try to make it possible?
Atleast I would love that.
Just some of my thoughts.
Greets!
I have the same idea but every app i found must install host in PC
the best of this is GRemote !
why people want to use small keyboards??? when bigs are so cheap!! after few hors it gives pain in fingure..!! so plz stop thinkin!!

Music Player for Pad

Hello, I developed the program to replace Pad Music Player for music players built into Android systems because I was tired of not being able to have a decent playlist with just the songs I wanted.
The program was created for the Tablet because the space is much broader and you can add video directly to a lot of functionality.
It may someday be ported to smartphone by changing the layout of the various components even if trying it on my Nexus, and there are all the features are great, there is only a few problems graph.
If you want you can go try it on my site:
www.simosoftprojects.com
or you can download it from the Market:
https://market.android.com/details?id=simosoftprojects.musicplayerforpad
Let me know if you like and if you have any problems.
We placed a few pictures.

Thanks for this app!
It's really good looking and makes great uses of the tablet screen size ..
And it's free!..

Thanks! I just installed it and am liking it a lot! One thing that could be better would be more/custom gestures; I really like swiping in from the right, but it can hinder simple touch presses on the right-side of the screen

[Q] Are there any apps to interface a graphical LCD with Android?

Hello
Wondering if I can ask some advice. I'm looking to start a car PC project soon based on Android, I will probably go with Android x86 Kitkat as I was previously but I guess something like this should be agnostic with many versions and devices.
I am looking to interface a graphical LCD, such as one of these:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
They are usually controlled over a serial connection which presumably wouldn't be an issue with a USB-Serial adapter (or even with Android x86, a physical serial port on the PC). So assuming connections are possible, are there any apps to display metadata like Now Playing songs etc on such a screen? Maybe even a small menu to change music etc? Even to display any data at all I'm thinking I may be able to adapt something to suit my needs.
On Linux/BSD, a program called LCDProc is a common choice for controlling such screens, is there anything similar available for Android? Obviously it wouldn't be the main screen on the device it would just be an accessory to display metadata and other info.
Any information pointing me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
Hi
I think the best place to ask this this question is in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section, so please stand by while we have your thread moved there.
Good luck!

Start Android with 2 Apps in Splitscreen

Hey Folks,
I hope you can help me, search function didn't.
I have Android 7 in my car and all I want is to start with Maps and Spotify in Splitscreen. Is there a launcher which can do this, or any other thing i can do? Maybe IFTTT or something similar?
Of course I can start both Apps and activate the Splitscreen manually, but I am wondering if there is any easier solution. I found "Splitscreen launcher" but it is only for vertical splitting and it doesn't work on my Android 7.
AFAIK you can't start split screen mode programmatically
I want to do the same as OP.
Vivid launcher comes close, but they pair google maps with their own music player. I need to use Gaia for offroad navigation instead of google maps. Gaia lets me upload tracks which is very useful when driving a maze of logging roads to a specific destination. Also, the vivid music player puts a popup on every screen, which I don't want.
It would be even better if I could include a few icons (see image).
But ultimately I don't care how I get the result desired, as long as I can return to it with a press of a steering wheel button. On the head unit I have, I can manually do a splitscreen, but it goes away if I go to a different app.
Does anyone run something like this?
Is there a launcher that will do this?
