Awesome forum, and I *think* I already know the answer to this, but is there a simple way of skinning the notification bar on the stock (rooted) Optimus one rom?
Or do I have to flash a whole new rom to the phone?

u can create a black bar for yourself using this:
http://uot.dakra.lt/
You cannot do this on stock ROM because it is not deodexed. You need a custom ROM.

I took the jump - forcibly in the end due to my stupid meddling then the absolute need to flash a fresh rom
Went for cyanogen 7 and am pleased thus far, cheers guys.

You can install JKAY Theme, but I don't know the results of doing it in MIUI...

sourabh - i used creeds rom v2.1 for abt 2months ... i never got any swype error
by the way see what chamatht is sayin ... he knows how.to.install 14toggle on ur stock rom

SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk can be found in /system/app.
