Hi All,
I'll be travelling to California from Canada soon, and I was wondering if I would be able to use my unlocked Telus Galaxy Note with an AT&T GoPhone plan? I did this last summer with my unlocked Telus Fascinate (SGH-T959D) and it worked great for voice and data.
What APN settings should I use?
Will I be able to use LTE or will it just be HSPA+ speeds?
Thanks All.

So i got a tmobile Samsung Galaxy s Vibrant right. and i live up in canada the phone is unlocked and everything but i cant connect to 3G data... i keep hearing thins around the web of people saying tmobile has Blocked the frequency of 3G Data in canada. is that possible? or just a rumor? cause i would just LOVE to use this phone to its potentional not just talk and text....
Only Wind and Mobilicity are gonna work. I'm from Toronto though don't know what else is available Canada wide. All others you are gonna need either the i9000 or the captivate for bell and rogers
3g worked up in canada with a rogers network SIM for me. That was about a month ago. I'm going up Thursday will let you know. Typically I travel to Vancouver weekly and swap my tmobile sim for a rogers.
Well i have a rogers sim car with an unlocked Tmobile vibrant. so i dont get it... it works for some but not for others?
Still works for me. In Richmond BC right now on rogers sim speedtest results 3617up 478dn
Hi there,
I'm looking for any recommendations for any pre-paid carriers in Toronto, Canada. I'm planning on visiting for a week and would like to have full access on my phone. I have both T-Mobile USA and AT&T phones, so I know that Wind and Roger's will work.
I was just wondering if any of you out there have any advice or tips on which one to use. I devices are the AT&T Galaxy Note (primary phone) and Nexus S (T-Mobile bands) as a secondary phone. I would like to tether and video chat with my phone.
Thanks for any help everyone!
Hello Everyone
I don't know if this has been asked before, but I searched and found no answers. Basically, Me and my dad want to switch from Rogers to Mobilicity (which uses the 1700/2100 frequency), so we went to the mobilicity store and tried my dad's galaxy s2 lte (rogers version) with the mobilicity sim card, and the phone didn't detect mobilicity's network (it goes into Rogers roaming mode i think). So I started looking around, and I found this advertisement on Kijiji Calgary about modifying the S2 LTE to work with Mobilicity's frequency. So, Is there a way I can convert/modify the phone by myself to work with the AWS 1700/2100 frequency? I assume the phone has to be rooted first if such thing is possible?
Thanks!
I don't think so as it's HW related.

i have the tmobile version (SGH-T989) flashed to the Rogers radio... and now i'm able to connect to RoBelLus
and when i'm fed up w/ their high prices, I can just flash back a Tmobile radio and go with Wind/Mobilicity
it works for the ATT Skyrocket & Tmobile version of the S2 ... i'm not sure if it will work with the Rogers one... do some research, you should be able to do it
PM me if you some help researching... if i can't get u the answers, i might be able to guide you to the right threads
I found one Tab 10.1 T-Mobile 4G on Craigslist. I've never owned one and I'm thinking about getting this.
Questions:
- Are these factory unlocked?
- Will I be able to put an AT&T SIM and make calls?
- Will I be able to get AT&T HSPA speeds (I have MediaNet plan)
Thanks!
Bump, anyone using it on AT&T?
Not including myself, the rest of my family is on Verizon. My daughter recently upgraded her S3 so I have it now as a handmedown. I have AT&T
and have been using it with their sim. (Verizon doesn't lock their smartphones) I get normal voice coverage but can't get anything more than
edge on data. I have 2 APN's programmed that I found here. One is HSPA+ and the other is for LTE. If the sim is in an AT&T phone, I get LTE
coverage but in the S3, nothing more than as mentioned. Is this because AT&T doesn't have the IMEI registered on their end or is it something else?
I'd really like to get more out of this phone. Any ideas?
Thanks ahead of time,
Todd
