Stock keyboard (voice input) and working alternative keyboards - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Can somebody tell me if it is possible somehow to turn voice input from stock keyboard? I looked in settings but couldn't find it. Also, do you use other keyboards? I got used to use HTC IME by jonasl, but now on 1280x720 it is obviously to small for the screen. I am testing Smart Keyboard now which is pretty fimiliar to HTC IME and has the option of voice input. I don't like Swipe as I never swipe, got used to "click" symbols. I would continue using stock keyboard if not the lack of voice input.
Sent from my Tapatalk using freaking awesome LT26i Sony Xperia S.

I use smart keyboard Pro. Been using it since the X10 days, love it.

Im using "Ice cream sandwich keyboard free"
works well, and gives you the voice input button there too
I'm typing quite a bit quicker on this keyboard as well, seems to be working for me.
give it a go

I've always used thumb keyboard on any android device I use. Has good customization options and keyboard themes.

I use ICS keyboard full ..
It have a good arabic letters layout, and I use gestures to change language, close keyboard , and delete last word ..
I works great in this big screen and just take a little space of the screen ..
even I already purchased Swiftkey X, but I feel more comfortable with ICS keyboard ..

mini/mini pro and their keyboards

My wife is looking to upgrade her phone and wants a smartphone but not an iphone. After looking around she's deciding on the x10 mini series.
She's a bit old skool and still prefers predicitive typing and not a proper/virtual keyboard.
Our question is if you can still use the old numeric/predicitive keyboard on the pro like you do on the non-pro version. We've tested a few devices and noticed that in the messaging app it forces you to use the slide out keyboard, is this so? or is there a setting to stop this?
Basically she likes texting/typing with one hand and only will use the keyboard if typing an email if she really has to..
Look forward to the answer.
Thanks
Bal
Yes, you can
You can install an app call Smart Keyboard or Tiny Keyboard to have a Full QWERTY on-screen keyboard. (Or you can use the default on-screen keyboard of the X10 mini pro)
You just slide out the keyboard whenever you want to
i use anysoft keyboard, which is free and is the only one i found a portuguese dictionary for (i am brazillian). do those cited support using the system dictionary, or do they have different languages?
SmartKey board supports user-defined dictionary but does not support any other languages
I Always use T9 predictive on my Mini Pro, it comes with the phone, and i didnt need to install any other app
I have used many Qwerty keypads-Softwares on my Mini but at last felt very comfortable with the default t9 predictive keypad..
Adding words in it is very very easy....
BTW.
I have seen the mini pro and the only additions are:
+Qwerty keypad(Not that great. For those who just want hardware keys go for it.)
+UI works in Landscape mode also
+BETTER BATTERY BACKUP(dunno why)
Cons are:
-Abit heavy
-an ok keypad
-It looks really thick and bulky
Personally if you are ok with these above factors then go for pro.
Else go for just the mini
I own it and its just great- Except for battery backup

[Q] Archos 70 keyboard

Hello everybody!
Yesterday I bought a Archos 70 IT 250 GB and I'm very pleased with it. All works like a charm, only, i'm using the standard Android keyboard, which is quite ok, but I would like to know if there are better alternatives??
Could anyone tell me their opinion about which keyboard could be better?
Thanks all!
Cheers,
Jeroen
I use the Swype Keyboard on my A70, and it's very fast. Thumb Keyboard isn't bad at last.
But I use also the standard keyboard.
I like the Thumbs keyboard
SmartKeyboard in my opinion is best choice: mutitouch keyboard with lot of options, gestures handling and t9 support.
Swiftkey here
I would love to get Flex T9 but the Market doesn't show it to me. In the meantime, Swiftkey is good and gets better as it collects your frequently used words that aren't in the standard dictionary.

Ditto, it is also running great on my phone
How did you guys get swype working? It wouldn't run on my 70, I'm currently using the big thumb keyboard but would rather use swype, thanks guys!
Update, I installed SlideIT keyboard from the market which is just like swype and that works great.
In landscape mode a tad bit of the end buttons are covered by the Archos home keys but they still work fine. It is VERY fast.
Honestly I'd give this one a try -> https://market.android.com/details?id=com.moo.android.inputmethod.latin.free
Make sure you set your language in the options, otherwise nothing will appear.
It's a very awesome keyboard and I can type much faster than the 2.2 keyboard.
Swype looks good but it doesn't work for me, tried latest beta.

Can we get the stock Gingerbread keyboard?

Having just ditched the Nexus S for this I'm left pretty disappointed with the keyboard input, especially when using prediction and typing with the qwerty.
The text entry box seems to jump all over as suggested words pop up and the completion / auto correction and general overall user friendliness of this keyboard is not a patch on the Nexus S.
Any maybe can install the Nexus S keyboard instead (stock android Gingerbread)?
I've had this in my archive of apps, try it and lemme know what you think. I'll have a look for a newer version tomorrow morning if you like this one.
clicky
You absolute star!!!!
That's fantastic, makes typing soooo much more pleasurable and IMO easier!
Thank you VERY much
If there is an updated version that would be interesting to try.
Thanks again bud!

Gingerbread Keyboard on Market.
Dickie
Hi all
Is there a compact qwerty version of this?
Love the phone but I'm pretty desperate to get a compact qwerty keyboard like the one on my Froyo HTC Desire. It's maybe a big finger thing but I really struggle with full qwerty.
Cheers

Best keyboard using the stock ICS voice typing

I have tried pretty much every keyboard on the market and I love Swype and SwiftKey but unfortunately both of those apps use their own version of the voice transcription feature. Is there a keyboard out there other than stock ICS that uses the voice typing just as Google intended? Or maybe a hacked version of Swype that bypasses their Dragon dictation for the stock one?
Thanks for your suggestions everyone.

Smart Keyboard is pretty good and for swype just download ripped latest version from galaxy note (blue color, no ugly orange, no swype connect and standard voice typing)
Thanks for the suggestions! Well I downloaded a note swype keyboard but it's huge and I can only see half the letters. Do you know where one is that's been resized?

The size can be reduced. Just own it with winrar and delete unused languages from assets, files. About the size I don't know it should work good since in the apk include all resolutions even the note one. Or maybe slideit, its the same as Swype but lot of prole finds it better and it support ics and its very skinable (normal Google dictation ofc) or try smart keyboard if you want classic tapping keyboard.
Swyped from my ZTE Blade
Any other keyboards as of late that anyone has found?

[Q] any t9 mods for keypads in jellybam

Currently I'm running the jellybam rom and was wondering if there were any mods or apps or options I'm missing to change the qwerty keypad in portrait to a t9 style keypad like in sense roms. I've noticed most senseless roms are missing this option and I'm old school and prefer the t9 myself. any help is appreciated thanks
