"in the coming weeks" refers to updates (or better: news) about the ICS updates, not the updates themselves. those could be "evo3d gets ICS in November, bi***es"

The EVO 3D is scheduled to have an update to version 2.08.651.2 sitting and waiting for users to go get on Aug 18, and will begin being pushed on Aug 23. While it's not a major upgrade (no, you're not getting Ice Cream Sandwich just yet), it looks like it addresses some bugs and should be welcomed by many. Fair warning -- that shiny new bootloader crack and root method may be patched in this one.
The Conquer 4G looks to be getting a security patch on release day, bumping it to build Gingerbread EG15. Specifics are lacking, other than an enhancement/fix to device security. Nobody is going to complain about that.

I would love to say "Everybody remember, don't be tempted to take the OTA, just wait for it to appear here cleaned up. If you aren't s-off&rooted and would like to definitely do not take this OTA, if you are s-off&rooted definitely do not take this OTA as this may come with a new hboot that would lock you back up again."
But I know that everybody who knows better doesn't need to be told and everybody else won't listen anyway. So why don't you just take the OTA and post a thread about how you lost root?

What exactly do you mean by go get? And any speculation to if its 2.3.4? It says not ics (duh) but the sensation just got a 2.3.4 ota and the GSM 3d is shipping with it.

How is making additional preloaded crap uninstallable by user an enhancement or a fix? This is why I root!
Ill test it because I should be getting a new 3d in a couple days to fix my black screen of death. It looks like they fixed the BT issue in transfering contacts to cars (I hope) Ill test root if it works
Can the Galaxy Nexus be cloned on to a Droid razr because, they have the same processor and everything, so maybe when the verizon galaxy nexus comes out it may be possible??
The idea was done for the Nexus S and i think it's called the unbrickable mod....

You saw a picture of droidtheory booting up ICS on his own personal phone....
A.) we still have no fail safe, not even his roms are available for download
B.) did you look at the picture at all? He doesn't have any service, on top of the fact that it will take a long time to incorporate blue-tooth, 4glte, camera support and other things.
C.) Its not the official ICS, so no, im not wrong.
But i never asked for the official ICS and also most phones don't get service when a rom first boots...

They are refering to the official ICS update from Motorola for the Razr, which according to Motorola, will be about six months from now.
I'm sorry that my first post adds nothing to the conversation. I've just been reading through the forums and looking at everyone's experience. I'm upgrading from the CrapBerry Storm2 to the RAZR this week. I've been looking forward to the upgrade.

Motorola officially said that the Droid Razr was getting Ice Cream Sandwich "in the first half of 2012".
To an overly enthusiastic customer, that means it's coming January 1 2012 @ 12:01am.
To a customer-screwing company like Motorola, that means June 30 2012, with a bunch of delays that push the date out by 3 weeks to July 2012. Call me jaded, but I no longer believe anything Motorola says until it actually happens. And even then, I have to wonder whether Motorola intentionally did something good, or if it was an accident.

If you're coming from a BB, this will be a ridiculous upgrade. Heck, even the Thunderbolt was a silly good upgrade from a BB. ICS will just be the eventual icing on the ginormous cake.

I'm stock anyways, the update is like 45mb. Not interested in rooting until roms get customized like the evo3d roms were. As of now, they're all meh & look the same.

Ahh I see. Yeah things should pick up soon. Viper is gonna release a beast very soon. Yeah that's a small update, so I don't its a lot included In There. I just don't think they would send. A software update for Google wallet. Unless something within the software needs to be repaired for it. Then I guess it would make sense of

I'm not downing the roms either, they just look the same. I've seen viper... It still doesn't look as customized & heavily themed like say InfectedROM Eternity. Remember how easy it was to tell the roms apart? I could easily separate WarmRom from InfectedROM Eternity from a mile away... With glasses of course
Not the case with Sense4 yet though.

Within about the last 12 hours I just began having issues with Pandora, keeps buffering 0-1% then skips to next song on 3G, works fine on WiFi. Was reading instructions to try fixing it and came across the HTC Software Update option. I thought while I was there I might as well check for updates. Lo and behold, it had one available. I let it install.
Google Wallet app does launch now. I remember when it was originally working I tried tapping on the Google Pre-Paid card and it just got stuck endlessly loading. This time when I tapped on it, it finished loading and now shows $10 remaining. First $10 is on Google and seems to finally be working. Can't wait to try it out.
The fix (wiping app data, uninstall, update PRL, update profile, reinstall Pandora) did not work and neither did the HTC update... Pandora is still broken.

Watch the Dev section. One of the DEVs will package it up for root users. More than likely sometime today

quite possibly might patch the SOFF exploit...new hboot 1.15.000 inside
Cant stress enough if you are rooted DO NOT ACCEPT THE UPDATE! You may lose root, s-off and the ability to root again. The dev's will have an updated stock rooted rom within a day or two im sure.
Tried to install; downloads ok, reboots phone, and starts the update. About 1/4 the way through I get an icon of a phone with a Red "Warning" symbol on it

That's what happens when you don't listen to sound advice..don't accept otas when your rooted....what are you new?
So it looks like they are going to start selling a sensless HTC One this summer running stock android. Probably the same deal as the vanilla GS4
What are your thoughts on this?
Would we be able to get these stock updates? Or would we have to manually flash those roms?

Oh I didn't even see that thread. I saw a similar one on the international thread and I wanted AT&T users opinion. Im still wondering how everyone thinks this will effect us. Better aokp roms? Will we be able to get an official update without rooting?

I share an account with my brother. I'm still obviously using my One and he is using his friends s4 that he traded. My brother no longer uses my account either.
