Shatter Screen protector - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Was thinking of taking this off to reduce finger prints etc . I know on earlier SE phones it made the screen far more responsive and as its scratch resistant any ways, thought I'd give it a go.
I know what some of you are thinking but I live on the edge lol
Anyone else tried it and seen a difference ?

SEARCH. We already have 2 threads on this!!

Thanks , Mods, apologies please delete

Thanks .. Any other recommendations ?
I took the top protection off as soon as it came out of the box.
Several weeks later I noticed there was another (Much harder to remove) screen protector. I took this off as it was getting dirty and sctratched. I have never replaced it with anything and I have got no more scratches and never had any issues with the touch screen. i keep my phone in my pocker along with loose change and keys....
I have had my phone for about a year, and had the protector off for about 11 months..it was the best move i made
I found this ----> http://stores.ebay.com/gadgetfix/Sony-Ericsson-/_i.html?_fsub=1408041015 . Hope it suits you.I am searching for an original part (digitaizer and a new panel (WHOLE PANEL!!) ) Tell how it works (IF YOU BUY ofcourse : ) ) Regards!

Digitizer change.

Hi All,
Im having some problems with my Evo 3D. It was scratched out of nowhere by just sitting in my backpack MP3 slot. I found some dust on the screen (most likely thats the cause of the scratches). I have 2 medium scratches and a lot of minor/medium. The problem is that I am really getting upset when I look at my screen and I decided to accept it condition no more. I have 2 questions (For the first one I am pretty sure of the answer, but still I will ask it).
First. Are these scratches covered by the warranty? The obvious answer is no of course, but I am wondering - since it is with the "mighty" Gorila Glass, how did it got scratched without even dropping it... So Im thinking, is it possible that the warranty will cover this?
Second. If the answer of the above question is NO - I will change my digitizer. I chose to change the digitizer because it costs 10 pounds, comparing with the whole screen which is 70-80 on ebay. There is something that bothers me though. I am afraid that even a slight misalignement will cause troubles while using the phone and missclicking some stuff... Also I am afraid that dust might get between the screen and the digitizer while Im doing that.
I hope there is someone that already done this (and I mean digitizer only change) that will be able to help me with some advices and/or techniques. I am technocal guy, so following your instructions wont be a problem. Its just I haven't change Evo 3D digitizer before and I want to have proper preparation.
Any advises will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Have a look at this:

I posted some stuff on the last page too so you can go to that.
HTC might fix it for you, probably at a cost, you can give them a ring and see if they can help
Other than that, just read through the link i gave, alot of good info there that will help you replace the digitizer. Good luck!

[Q] Weird Blotches all over the screen. Not ink blots. NEW ISSUE

I think I'm the newest member of xda and boy am i glad to be here!
Bought my S3 a week back and to be frank I was both glad and slightly disappointed. Most of the flaws I faced have already been discussed. Facing lag issues and call drops. Plus the Wifi connectivity is not all that great.
But all in all I'm a happy customer and glad I took this decision.
It all changed today though. When I came back home, I noticed a few odd blotches on the screen which were not there till yesterday. The odded thing is that cleaning the screen gets rid of them but when I smudge the screen with my finger they come right back. There are about 7 of them in the shape of a 'X'. Sizes range from 1mm to 2mm across but they are just too hard to ignore. Have attached a picture. They appear white in direct light and when viewed perpendicularly turn into pitch black, the kind of black sAMOLED is famous for. They disappear on turning on the screen. Kind of look like bubbles of air but are probably not as they go away on cleaning the screen. I mean they totally disappear, merging into the darkness of the screen. What do you propose I do??
And there is no screen guard over the screen at the moment. Just using a Capdase silicone shell.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

return it? and use the search button. there is already such thread open in the general section.
How deep to the marks appear to be? Near the surface, or under the glass?
Did you have anything in your pocket that could have pressed against the screen? They look a bit like pressure points.
Oh, and ignore the grumpy members who just tell you to search instead of giving a constructive answer. It makes them feel superior. We were all new here once.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I'm pretty sure I had nothing in my pocket. My S3 is my life, almost like a trophy wife . I have been as careful as humanly possible. These completely disappear on wiping with a soft cloth. Totally invisible i.e. When seen from a perpendicular view, they appear pitch black and hence merge with the pitch black screen when the screen is cleaned. However, as my fingerprints start appearing on the screen, these become visible too.
Attaching another close up if it helps. The blotch is in the centre just next to the reflection of the tube. Another smaller and fader one seen at 5 o clock to its big brother. This is not the same issue that others have of dark pixels appearing when viewed in complete darkness. These appear in normal light.
And yeah, they appear to be superficial, but beneath the glass, not really over it.
I agree we were all new once, no issue with asking questions. But please think about posting in the right way.
Make clear in the op that you have searched and this isn't a duplicate issue eh?
There are plenty here who will be glad to help. Welcome to xda
Looking deeper as you've asked I will reopen this.
I've a feeling you may need to return the phone. I'm thinking the seal between the glass and the digitiser/lcd may be dodgy.
Regards
Chris
Not a pressure mark right?

Thanks Chris for reopening this thread. XDA sure rocks!
i wanted to make sure that these are not scratch marks/pressure marks before going to the dealer. If I know for sure what I'm talking about, I can go all guns blazing and ask for a replacement. Don't want them telling me that they can't do anything as it is a user issue or something. So any other opinions/suggestions/explanations are more than welcome.
Thanks again.

if you feel those marks are inside the screen, then its definitely a manufacturing problem. Better go for replacement asap mate, they cant tell you it is a user problem you can simply ask them back " How can i go inside a gorilla glass? "

Lol. Will do that tomorrow. Some more advice needed regarding that. Before giving them the phone, how should I backup my data. My phone is still unrooted.
Another thing. Should I fight for a device replacement or would a screen replacement suffice. I've noticed my smartstay doesn't work too. I have tried it from multiple angles in different light conditions and with different faces.

Please help, any HINT of moisture on the screen makes the screen go crazy?

I love this phone but this screen freak out is so bad sometimes that I dread having to type a text message.
I *THINK* the reason it freaks out is because my hands are even a tiny little bit sweaty when i try to use it.
This problem seems to be all over the internet:

Have you guys experienced it? I'm about to try a screen protector but is there anything else I can do to fix it? Turn down screen sensitivity somehow maybe?
Thanks!
I have the same issue and yes it's well known. I haven't tried it yet but a lot of people suggest that the ASF is the culprit and you'll have to take it off.
i have the same problem
The ASF is the culprit as far as i know and nearly everyone here has it

I put a screen protector on as soon as I got mine, and the only time it freaks is when there is actual water drops on it.
I've read that the Nexus 7, Nexus 5 and other newer models do also have some issues with false inputs, or "ghost touches". A lot of people are reporting that the issue is completely gone in Android Lollipop, so Google may have incorporated some new code that can better tell apart touches from fake touches, like the iPads and others have, so I guess you'll have to wait a bit to see if it's true.
I have that problem too. It actually got worse after removing the ASF.
I used paint thinner to remove the leftover glue so maybe that is the cause? Can paint thinner screw up my screen or is it simply because there no more layer between the moisture on my skin and my phone's screen? Getting a tempered glass protecter would solve this problem if that is the case, correct?
Had the same issue.
I removed the ASF, cleaned the screen with alcohol and then applied a Tempered glass for better resistance to torsion.
Never had any ghost touches since then. Lovely device!
The same thing happens to me, I think it's the moisture that freaks the phone out, my phone also does that when I take a pencil to it. Just dry it, and good to go.
Guys thanks for the responses.
For the record I got a tempered glass screen protector and the problem 100% went away.
I can now use my phone in the shower and it works fine even in the rain!

Question Fingerprint recognition :- Improvement

Hi all, those who are struggling with the fingerprint unlock, have you followed the instructions given when adding them? Having done it plenty of times I didn't even bother to look at them, I know best .
Thought I would have another go at adding them, this time I read the instructions and put the part of the finger on it asks for and although still not the fastest, it's far more accurate than it was before.
I guess you did not look at the other four threads on this topic either.
Fingerprint unlock is fine for me. It's not instant, but its faster than my old mate 20 pro ! I'm sure face unlock is just round the corner though.
