Sorry Just seen this, cheers, got my Ubuntu 10.04 install pretty much done, just downloading the CM9 repo, now just looking someone is able to show me around the source code and how to work with it etc, for example im interested in getting into fixing bugs etc and working on things! such as camera (big issue for most fresh built roms to my understanding) i know bottom line i have no experience but with the amazing DEV's im sure i'll get somewhere soon! and hopefully be able to contribute to people's amazing work!

Hello fellow owners of Galaxy players

I am new to xda, and have recently got a usa variant of the galaxy player 5.0. I have already rooted it and was wondering if someone could recommend a stable and nice rom for me to use? Also, does any ics kernel yet exist for this player ( or even better jellybean)?
Look forward working with this great forum and player!
If you guys need developers or testers for rom development count me in!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457 Here's all the rom for both the 4.0 and 5.0. For ICS on the 5.0 here's the thread. I believe it is listed by which is updated the most. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832697 but I'm not sure if it is a full working ROM without any problems.
Thanks
Thanks for the information , do you know how to start my own thread I am making for the rom im working on? When I click on make a new thread it says you have to get moderator permission first? Any ideas.

Are you doing it in the development section? Because if you are I think you have to have 10 thanked post to do so. If you're posting here than it should work. But I think you have to contact chrisd1a1 which is the forum moderator for the GP4.0 and 5.0 development. Hope this helps.

Hello,
The xda community requires 10 "thanked" post contributions before you enabled to post within the development forums. The purpose is to encourage new people to read through the threads before just repeating the same questions consistently. I believe you can still technically post in the general forums any question you have, just remember to thank other people's post and to give your two cents for the new newbie.

and really very sorry for crating this thread but this forum is so big and m confuse to check right thread for my prob .. sorry again kindly sort out my all doubts please
Thread moved to Q&A section.
OP, you are more likely to get help with questions in the Q&A section. Please read your posts carefully before starting a new thread to make sure you put it in the correct section. This keeps our forums clean and gives you the best chance to get the help you need.
While there is a TON of information out there on rooting, kernels, ROMs, etc, you really will learn a lot by just spending some time searching and reading over information, Google is your friend for general knowledge on these items, and XDA will help with your device specific needs. I'm sure the nice people here will offer you some more advice on the phone you have, in the meantime, start reading and learning, it really can be fun and satisfying Good luck to you!
can any 1 help me or not ??
have you read what diestarbucks suggested you? read, read, read
1)about root- it's sticky thread in general section. how you missed it? didn't read..
2)google for app2sd, super app2sd, link2sd..
3) about your last few questions, that you will need to find out yourself. there are plenty threads around XDA and on google, which explains what is what.
Forum is big, yes, so there is no need for creating threads for each and every question, and making it even bigger. Some questions can easily be found by simple search, or by looking(not sure how hard is it to spot sticky thread..)

You wont learn if you have that kind of arrogance brother. Try asking alittle more nicely. Im sure people here wouldnt mind helping you if u do approach nicely. Search on google and links will be provided to you for each specific info or tutorial you need.

Idea - search forums and google for problems similar to your own
Advise - Include info on what you've done, what you've tried, and your specific issues otherwise nobody can help you. "I have a bootloop" is not enough info to even start finding a solution
