Hey guys, I'm a little confused, is MIUI really ICS, or gingerbread with a bunch of ICS stuff? I thought there wasnt an official ICS version of MIUI.

MIUI is a custom Chinese ROM based on CM7 which is based on Gingerbread. The newer version (v4) of MIUI will be based on CM9 which is based on ICS.

Oh nice, alright. So the v4 we have in the dev section is real 4.0? Awesome, thanks brother.

Well I'm on galnet MIUI right now and there's no official ICS build. There's a hybrid build which is basically a framework merge and it's not too bad. They've released an alpha build for MIUI ICS but I wouldn't recommend using that 'cause it's still buggy. Hope this helps. Happy to answer any more questions.

There are no stable ICS releases for SGS2. You can find two ICS roms, one leaked from Sammy and another is CM9.
Though alpha CM9 is pretty stable .. check out the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410400
Learn how to restore before flashing an unfinished Beta rom on my phone would be my first step .

LOTS more reading!
CM9 is good, but it sounds like it's high risk for you at the moment - it's not all plain sailing if and when you get there.
Why not wait a few weeks for a more stable version.
I would say your better off waiting mate, maybe flash vertumus's ics theme until a stable version is out.

Im on CM9 and I would like to try sammy's ICS, Im from the Netherlands and I want the least buggy ICS firmware. Whats the diffrence between latest leak and offical ICS. I would like to hear some review's as well. I used to go for the latest firmware so is the latest ICS the best? (leak) According to its build date, 12/03. ?

Sgh t959 was updated only to android 2.2(by Samsung) officially but custom ROM developer s helped our device to run latest Android softwares there is a ROM ported to our device I think its 2.3.5 and its a very good and stableextrain my opinion i think it is stock rom ported to our device with extra features its name is simply vibrant xxjvt http://dineshrathod.info/2011/09/13/rom-get-android-2-3-5-for-samsung-vibrant-t959/ but you will have to find the software somewhere else as the links are of multi upload

Sadly, no. As mentioned above, the Samsung Vibrant never received an official Gingerbread update. So there is no stock Gingerbread 2.3.6 ROM. However, you can find plenty custom ROMs based on 2.3.6 available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982728
I suggest Simply Stock, a download link can be found in the thread linked above. I believe that is the closest thing to a stock Gingerbread ROM.
