Weird Crash - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Ok So my TFP starts out of the blue rebooting on me from time to time. and then i had to reboot it like 3 times or more to get it to where when i slide to unlock that it would actually unlock instead of have the lock circle on the unlock but never go any place then it would reboot by itself. i got stuck in a loop where no matter how many times i rebooted it got stuck on lock screen and rebooted. so i hit the reset button and jumped in 5.8.2.0 and restored from a back up. it booted up but i noticed that i my home key and setting from the right side did not work. and the lock screen does not come up any more when i turn on and off the device. Anyone have this problem? seems no matter what rom ive tried same results. lock screen no longer comes up right side quick setting no longer work. i did wipe everything before flashing. also for a side not tried to restore to stock image from my backup and got error while it was trying to put the data folder back. ive always used the 5.8.2.0 so not sure what the hell is going on. Any help would be appreciated. Almost feels like there is a problem with my primes memory.

[Q] New update oddly bricks acer iconia

I tried to install the latest update for my acer tablet. My tablet is unrooted and it was doing fine with the android icon with spinning gears and a progress bar. Though it froze and stayed froze...i had no choice but to reset. Once I did though the system would come back up to the slide your finger to unlock screen, my same background was working but a vibrate would happen (before touching) and after that touching the screen wouldn't do anything or react so couldn't slide to unlock. After this, I tried the plus volume button + power+ moving the orientation switch on and off. This got my old background to go away so something happened but it never reset on its own as it was saying: clearing user data and clearing cache. After that i shut it off again and rebooted using the minus volume. It said it was going to revert back to some file. The friendly android robot with spinning gears occurred then shortly after the progress bar came up that friendly android was replaced with an android icon with a big yellow warning sign in it (exclamation point) as far as i can tell nothing happens afterwards. After a few more reboots and + trick i can get the system to boot (no drag finger to unlock) but the minute it gets to the home screen the "shutting down" dialog shows up with the "powering off" message. It never goes away, tablet never shuts down. This happened REPEATEDLY. I did contact acer tech support; and since the first time it didnt reboot on its own after clearing user data and user cache he said its a hardware defect and to return it. I do hesitate to believe that cause I have babied this thing. I wonder if its an odd software error?
Now if i just let the tablet boot up it will come to that home screen with that shutting down dialog. And sometimes i swear a message box pops u behind it I cannot click on it (i swear the dialog that pops up behind the powering off dialog is something about the apk installer). I cannot get to the privacy ->restore to factory defaults...cause everytime i make it to the settings screen and click okay or something the home screen comes back and everything else go s away...so can never click on anything in the settings without it fading away. Which means I cannot click privacy -> restore factory defaults. So now my acer just boots up and says shutting down right away and does nothing else. Its clear of the apps i had on it, but st still not coming up. Am I missing some other step to the process or is the acer device really going to be needed to send out? I think i did everything right but wondering if anyone else had the boot up and then see the shutting down/powering off dialog the whole time... it should be noted that it never actually does shut down.
Any ideas or help id love it!
I don't own a tablet, but here is a thread that you can check out. Hopefully it will help you out. Good luck!

Problem with open optimus ROM

OK, so I successfully installed the ROM. It works fine and all until I actually use openscript on the terminal. For example, I wanted to change CPU frequency. I changed it, quit the terminal, and checked the frequency in system information. It was successful. But After about a minute my screen suddenly locked and here is the current situation. The locking screen works fine (I had the pattern lock), I can even open emergency calls. But when I unlock it, the only thing I see is the notification bar (which works btw, clock, wifi , all the icons are there, I can slide it down and up and so on). Everything else is just black. The buttons work - I can quit the notification tab buy clicking back or home or something like that. But I dont see my home screen, menu, buttons - nothing. I can lock it again, and it works fine again in the lock screen but afterwards same black screen again. Reboot does not work.
So I reinstalled the rom. Immediately after installing changed the frequency and waited for a bit. Everything was fine. I installed all the crap I usually have and kept using the phone. But the next day, I got annoyed by the music player and decided to change it again via the openscript. Same thing happened. And this is where I am stuck right now (actually this is already the third time I have this problem in 3 days and it's my third reinstall of the rom, but the first one also happened after using openscript to change frequency.)
So is there a way to fix this without reinstalling the rom again, cause I've customized the **** out of it and I don't wanna do it again. If no, how can I prevent this in the future?
P.S. If this helps, when rebooting, I hear the sound before the android splash screen which is sometimes skipped and sometimes shown for an unusually short time.
P.P.S. Also, I have the apps2sd flashed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Got same problem
Hi,
Even I got same problem when I tried to change boot animation. Just blank screen.
But i realised it is due to, launcher app is not initiated. So tried a trick which worked indeed
Trick is when u are in a blank screen, click "HOME" button which will pop u up the list of launchers u have. Click One of them though they r not visible
Voilaa!!! Your screen is back

Safe Mode???

Popped my phone on my desk as usual on a night and noticed it was 'booting'.
Android had soft reset and it was booting up, the lock screen appeared and then it rebooted again.
Booted into the lock screen again...
I first noticed my live wallpaper was gone, so I unlocked the phone and noticed there were no widgets, then noticed "SAFE MODE" in the bottom left corner of the screen.
I turned the phone off then let it boot and everything was back to normal and no more restarts.
Anyone seen this before? Didn't even know Android/Sammy had a 'Safe Mode'
I have had that before. You should be able to invoke it by pressing menu during boot or something. As far as I know, it is a bit like Windows safe mode because it stops unnecessary startup processes.
Its been posted before what it is no idea .

phone will not turn

I used my phone this morning and it was fine. A few hours later I went to use it and it would not turn on. It is fully charged. I am running go launcher. I usually don't get asked which launcher I want to open it with when I wake my phone. But that screen flashed very quickly but I could not choose as the screen went blank very quickly. The screen was blank but the back button and the home button were lit up. I hit the power button so many times but nothing happens except the the 2 buttons lighting up. I went into recovery try to boot from there but nothing hapeens. It just goes to the HTC screen and hangs there. Its been on that screen for 10-15 and then I go back into recovery and still nothing. I tried to do a factory reset. It went to a screen with a picture of the phone and 2 green arrows going in a circle and a green down arrow inside the circle.
I have no idea what is going on. I have not done anything new to the phone. It is stock and I got Kit kat on it a few weeks back. Everything has been fine up until this morning. I understand the go launcher could cause a problem opening up the phone. But I don't understand why I cant do a factory reset from recovery. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks
I also noticed that in the bootloader the very first line says 'LOCKED" is it supposed to say that?

[Q] Samsung Note 3 Lollipop Issues (Sprint Stock Build)

So i was just forced to install Lollipop by Sprint. I was having a minor S-Pen issues and Sprints "FIX" was to update me to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Well now I have 500000000 other issue with my phone. Most i can live with, but there are 2 in particular that at driving me absolutely bonkers and I cant fix. I was hoping someone around here would have an idea how to fix it without me having to root, and go back to the previous OS. (The Sprint Root seems a little intimidating and I cant afford to brink my phone even for 20 minutes).
The main issues I am having are regarding the lock screen. I cant get the lock screen to stay open more then 3 or 4 seconds and if I botch my pattern or don't swipe fast enough, the screen will turn itself off. Then I have to turn the screen back on and try and unlock it again. Sometimes the screen even turns off in the middle of trying to unlock it. It is EXTREMELY annoying having to try and unlock my phone 4 or 5 times just to get to the notification screen ...... As for the Notification screen, once i finally am able to get my phone unlocked, then when i try and swipe my notification bar the phone will sometimes turn the screen off as well, then I have to go BACK to trying to unlock the phone and try and do everything faster then 2 jack rabbits banging in order to just get to my notifications. Its become a major problem in that sometimes I just cant get the sequence and speed right for 10 or 15 tries.
Anyone else having these issues or have a fix???

I can't say I had any problems like this. I was running Stock rooted OC5 for a while and had really no problems with it. I didn't have any pattern or pin unlock though, so maybe it would have been different? I would have stayed stock but my Flashaholic took hold and made to start trying out other ROMs.
As for rooting, I have found it very easy to root this phone. I haven't had a problem either using auto-root or flashing superSU.
Factory reset is easy.

before a factory reset, you might try doing a wipe of the cache partition.
turn your phone off
press and hold, Volume up + home key + power until you see the blue booting to recovery mode message
wait for recovery mode to display (the menu will show after the green robot)
use the volume rocker to move down to wipe cache partition and press the power button to select it.
now select the yes line and press power
now reboot your phone and see if that helps with the lock screen behavior
good luck
