I need suggestions on what rom to use for the Old Baseband, Optimus T. Please, and thank you……
Sent from my LG-VM670 using Tapatalk
Any new baseband ROM will work with a fix. I love Oxygen and use aspees fix...works great for me. Only problems are GPS (use faster fix from the market) and no MMS, no fix for that yet. Good luck.
Swyped from my P509 on Tmobile.
With Swype and Flash, why would anyone choose the iPhone?
Try adfads A8 that's what I'm currently using now

Why not just update your base band?
I finally did, and am glad. Cm7 rc1 by adfad works great. Doesn't even need a fix for 3g anymore. Everything works great
Sent from my LG-P500
Yes I'm on an Optimus T maybe try adfad's fix then...I've used both and they work fine for me...wipe-flash ROM-flash fix-reboot-enjoy...never had a problem. I've probably flashed about 20-30 times like that.
Good luck

Got it. Currently using Oxygen rom, had to flash fix from Aspee, then perfectpeso.

I just flashed into CM7 and i love it. But i dont have the Marketplace! I know i probably sound like an idiot but how do you get the Market on CM7! Im on his latest version which has you on android 2.3.4.
You have to flash gapps (Google Apps). You can get it through ROM Manager or better yet from the OP of the CM7 thread. IIRC, Slayher suggested using the Lithid version.

No problem, glad to help.

Why won't it, only differece in phones is ones set up for contract the others setup for pre paid...have you tried rooting it yet with gingerbreak

I rooted it with Gingerbreak. I really want CM7 or something on it now!
Is ClockworkMod available for the Walmart Optimus One?
If it is rooted, search for a thread by ciaox. It's called flashable recoveries. The latest cwm is 5 something something. Or you could find the recovery and flash with flashimageui or rom manager

Lol, I was reading this, and clicked on your link to the page about why it's not possible to flash it with any p500 firmware, and it made me giggle to see that it lead to my own post. ^.^
ouch!
LOL
if u flashed recovery successfully, first thing u do is make a back up...
Holy ****e! IT WORKED!!!!!! IM RUNNING CM7 NOW!!!!!
It also keeps saying that its a P500 so it must be pretty much the same thing as the real thing

Nope. But you can Google and read about them yourself.
Unless you need the camera, I can recommend just getting the latest CM9 installed.
We've had alpha 2 on our TP since it came out and it is pretty much perfect other than the camera is not working.

Hi guys thanks for responding. What about the audio, netflix, and wifi? For example I see some threads where it seems that wifi is unfixable. But from what's being posted it that seems to not be the case. Can someone clarify?

Audio and wifi works fine for me in CM9. Can't comment on Netflix since I don't use it.
Anyway, just go ahead and take the plunge. Every TouchPad owner should just install CM9. You have absolutely nothing to lose (except perhaps your warranty, but who cares about that?) and everything to gain.
Netflix youtube and flash have been fixed up nicely, im on 9.0.0 RC0 touchpad-alpha2 , earlierversions had some issues with netflix n such. As well, i've never had a problem with wifi on any rom ive ever tried.
Okay I think I'll take a look. Any idea when the next major release or milestone is? I'm going on vacation in a few so would be nice to have a nice newer version waiting for me...
And can anyone recommend a guide? I know there are some on sites like prenation but can someone recommend one that is actually updated and that they have personal experience with?

Re: Guide
Just follow the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1305891
Then flash CM9 and Gapps via CWM recovery. Wipe data, cache, and dalvik. Reboot. Enjoy.

I've personally found the official threads to be the best guide, but I suppose YMMV.
As for the question in the OP, I'm currently running eyeballer's unofficial nightly from the 18th, and it's held up quite well against everything I've thrown at it thus far.
Obviously, the camera and microphone don't work, but that's expected. I've had no issues with WiFi connectivity, although I have had one random reboot.
I'm running with a modest overclock to 1.7 as well.
Don't think. Just do it like all of us here. Its not a wrong move if all of us done that

Did they ever get the camera working on CM7? I don't think so. Either way, I'm using CM9 every day. It's awesome. You'll never go back webOS. Hopefully Windows 8 can get flashed over to this bad boy too.

Unfortunately, Rocko is on a different device now, so I don't know how much support you will get for his rom.
I am an ICS dev....build MIUI and Kitchen Sink(co-builder), and work or contribute on the others from time to time.
You may want to try another rom...sorry

Hi,
I'm using TeamWhiskey Froyo Rom and wondered if there is a later version that is recommended as daily driver. I see there are plenty of 4.x roms, but anyone is stable and good enough to replace the Froyo?
Thx.

Pick anyone, it's better for sure. I use Kingsoft Miui on Semaphore kernel, I know it's way better than Bionix 1.3.1 or Biwinning or no matter what Froyo you can think of. Go ahead, it's time to upgrade.
+1, all of the 4.1.2 ROMs , IMO, are stable. There has been great progress with GPS in these ROMs as well. Upgrade, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I am Jack's smirking revenge.
Thx guys, I'll try to upgrade, got bored already with Froyo...

Ok, so I installed Slim Bean, really like it so far! Can't believe it's the same phone... Though I have some battery issues, need to check that, seems to be draining fast, I suspect the gps is keeping the system awake all the time, I remember it was an issue on ics roms...

Just wanted to update if others will read it, what I did to solve the gps wakelocks is to install this single file gps fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33844820&postcount=1246
And also uninstalled the GPS Status app I had, it seemed to be interrupting the gps from working well. That's it, hope all problems are gone now...

Be warned that gps fixes that replace blobs can mix badly with emergency dialing and can cause intermittent (and in at least one case constant) RIL crashes when dialing an emergency number.

Also intermittent means it could work 90% but crash 10% of the time, so one test may not be conclusive. But frankly, I'm not sure if SlimBean uses the right libraries in the first place. prbassplayer/kravind can correct me if I'm wrong though.
How a 911 call is different from a regular call anyway? Why if regular numbers are working 911 won't?

Samsung used a special RIL request code for emergency numbers, so when we detect an emergency number, we use that code. When it does an emergency call it uses a command related to GPS and if the GPS libraries are out of whack, then the RIL can crash or receive corrupt GPS readings.
And also, 911 has to work even if no SIM card is present.

I am also interested in a daily driver but I don't trust Jellybean. I tried ICZen but its been acting weird lately. Any suggestions?
ParanoidAndroid 2.54-360 is a rock solid JB41 ROM!
Would you prefer my usual method of conflict resolution?
Ahhhhh, seems like the wake lock problem haven't gone away... It depends on how I reboot my phone, also I'm still unable to get a GPS fix.
I think this is the last Samsung device I'll bought, instead of making new devices every 3 weeks it would be better if they actually supported their devices by updating the os for instance...geeee.

Try CM10 nighty, and activate GPS for a minute right after boot if you want GPS after deep sleep.
Hi,
I could get a fix with my Nexus 7 device, is there a way to copy that "fix data" to my Vibrant device? maybe this will help it get a lock?
Thx!

I don't think that's possible since you change your location.
You can use an external GPS which will surely provide a better lock than the internal GPS.

You're using a Vibrant 4G / Galaxy S 4G not a Vibrant. The V at the end of the model number shows that.

To funny cuz if you go to the cyanogenmod website and click the Vibrant it shows cm10 stable rom that i linked... And FYi i have a vibrant as well... Just sayin browski. Because rhe sgs4g and vibrant are two similar devices but different flavor. The sgs4g doesn't even have the support the Vibrant has when it comes to Cyanogenmod.
