Ok...so I was screwing around with my MIUI theme layout on my phone, and all of the Gapps I had on my home screen disappeared from the phone. Not a big deal, a new version of MIUI is out anyway so I figured I'd just flash that. So I did. I flashed the newest MIUI ROM (yes for the I777) and went to boot up. Launcher kept FCing, so much so that all I could do was jump into the messaging app from the lock screen and use the toggles menu to reboot/shut down. I tried pulling the battery and using the two button combo to get into recovery, but that didn't work. it just kept booting up normally.
So from this point I used ODIN to flash back to stock per this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
Everything went fine during the ODIN process, however now it won't go past the AT&T boot animation. Any ideas?
EDIT: Solved problem by booting into 3e recovery via 3-button press. Wiped cache and user data, booted up fine.
Lol was going to suggest that
Glad you got it worked out though.

I tried to downgrade for the sake of battery, and I believe I've softbricked.
I did disable lagfix prior to wiping and flashing. Even checked in terminal.
I managed to boot once. Downloaded Titanium and restored my apps/data, then removed the "remove-lagfix"s and rebooted. Got the linda voice, then "execute", boot logo, and... nothing. Black screen, touch buttons lit up. Sounds like the softbrick I've read of.
So yeah. What do I do to restore my phone to working condition? I have no nandroids, but I've no issue with unrooting/restoring to initial system conditions/etc.
I'm on Snow Leopard, Macbook Pro 2010. I'll dual boot a Windows if I need to.
Thanks a ton for help everyone!

Wipe > Reflash
Probably would be best to put the disable_voodoo file back in before flashing again.
Arg... But I can't seem to mount the phone on a Win XP netbook OR my MBP. :/ Will keep trying.
Make sure you installed the samsung drivers for your pc. You can find the link in the Vibrant Bible
Well, scratch all this. I managed to boot normally by just wiping everything (again) then rebooting without flashing anything. Dunno why it didn't happen earlier... either way, I'm okay now.
Very strange. Bad flash/wipes I suppose.

same thing with me... I flashed bonix 1.6 and tryed to flash back to stock rom via the recovery in rom manager. well it failed. when it booted back up it looked like stock but a bunch of force closes would come up. tryed to reflash via oden but it would just boot to galaxy s screen then go blank with the buttons at bottom lighting up then nothing.
now after a couple tryes with different roms it says cant mount dev/block/stl10 on the stock recovery...
so im guessing i am screwed because i dont have clockwork recovery.

Would one of these different roms be eugene373s froyo that doesnt brick? Cause thats been fixing similar problems to yours.
Use odin to flash to that with repartition checked in odin. Then flash back to stock with repartition unchecked.

Thread moved to Q&A.
Yes, first i had flashed the Evil Fascinate Rom. Which was running smoothly and all. I decided to flash the Black Alien Version 4.0 Theme. had several errors and force closing through that. So what i was going to do is go back into recovery and re flash the Evil Fascinate Rom. Well when i try to a factory reset/wipe, it starts formatting everything but when it gets to the Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure, it just sits there? never takes this long. Im not sure if its frozen or what but everytime i go back to the recovery menu, it does this same thing. I mean, i can restart the phone and go back to running in the Evil fascinate rom with the alien theme but thats not what i want. Please someone help. Did i flash something incorrectly or what? lol
I had to put my card in my computer and wipe the files from android_secure before it would work

From what I read, it's a bug for the red CWM. It actually finishes the wipe. You could hold down the +/- volume buttons and power button until it reboots to recovery again.

Hi all
I'm not new to flashing but I'm new to flashing cm7.
I odin back to stock jfd eclair. Root and Install CWM 2.xxx. I downloaded the stable cm7 and I started flashing. (after I wipe data/cache of course)
IN recovery, it said finding package, opening package, then my phone processed a series of lines and reboot automatically. On the startup, it says VIBRANT SAMSUNG, then GALAXY S CYANOGEN(mod) then the same recovery screen with many lines. It moved too fast into another reboot I couldn't read what was on the screen. And it kept doing this for quite 10 mins now.
Is it normal? if not, what did I do wrong? I can get into download mode and odin back to stock but I did it last night and I couldn't think what i did wrong.
Please help!
Hmmmm..... seems a bit wierd, try going into recovery and wiping and reinstalling with a new download.

This happened to me also, I went directly back to recovery, 3 button, and reflashed. Worked the second flash for some reason.
Thanks. I turn it off, get into recovery again, and re flash it successfully

Hi Guys
I flashed the leaked ICS but hate it. Can I flash to stock GB via Odin? What about the baseband versions etc.., would it matter?
Sorry, I read another thread but it's unclear and I want to avoid bricking. Thanks
As far as what I've read you can flash stock from Odin or even use CWM to a previous nandroid of gingerbread.

If you got your Note from AT&T, simply flash this stock ODIN:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330
I went from ICS back to Gb cause I missed the tethering and it was easy. Just make sure you clear the caches and all should be well.
Thanks.. I was worried of the different baseband would have any adverse effect, but it doesn't sound like it will. I'll give it a try.
I Odin'd back to stock and I'm in a world of ****. My phone cant do anything, it just gets stuck on every swipe and reboots about every 5 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas?
Mines fine..only baseband is different, phone works.
Before I Odin to stock, I booted into recovery, factory reset and wiped cache. Odin, then booted into recovery and performed another factory reset and wiped cache again.

You get it figured out? I did the same thing. . My old apps still there. I can tell it is gingerbread, but nothing works now. I hope you got your figured out!!
When I boot into recovery I get the screen that tells me to use the up and down keys and when I choose factory wipe, and press power button, nothing happebs. If I hold it down eventually the phone shuts off. When i restart it, nothing changed.

I had to revert from ICS to GB yesterday and, even tho I am on Telus, I had success by flashing the pda-odin-att-stock.rar image
I can't post links .. I'm too new. But literally.. google what's bolded above and you will find the hotfile link.
It replaced everything (including the recovery) ... FULL system image. Solved everything and brought me back to 100% stock.
So yes, I lost my root and my CWM recovery software.. but it got my phone working again.. I can reflash CWM and re-root as I need.
After the install, wipe cache, factory reset etc.
I too flashed the stock ATT rom but like the previous poster, it gave me a phone which started up but wouldn't work. When I tried to get into recovery mode, it went to a screen with the recovery mode stuff at the top, but with a yellow warning sign in the middle and some words about manual mode, and it would not let me do a wipe or reset.
Here is what I just did that did work.
I flashed the recovery-i717-cwm-b4.tar file with odin. This worked and allowed me to get into the "proper" recovery mode to do a wipe and factory reset, as well as a cache wipe. I then reflashed tieh the stock ATT rom, and my phone now is back to stock.
I'm having a bit of an issue with my phone.
I was running alliance ROM build 30 since it was released. A week or so ago i wanted to try cm12. So I flashed octos.
It flashed fine and it runs fine, but I still can't seem to "get into" asop. Just seem to keep wanting touch whiz again.
So I went to restore my backup of alliance and it fails right away. I'm using philz recovery. I've also tried twrp and no change.
So I went to do a clean install of alliance and it flashed fine, but it won't boot. It hangs at the boot screen.
So I tried to flash another touch whiz ROM and it did the same thing. Just won't boot.
But it does not boot loop, it justs gets to the boot animation and stays there until I take out the battery.
So far I'm able to get any asop ROM to work fine, but only one touchwhiz. And even then the touchwhiz ROM was really slow and force closed apps a lot (maybe the ROM, maybe not, I'm not sure).
So any help is greatly appreciated.
Odin back to stock?
Haven't tried that yet.
I assume I would have to use the MC3 file right?
So I can re root and unlock again.
It appears that there isnt any files that I can download.
Everything I can find is no longer available
Well I found the odin file.
Ran it now my phone is really screwed. It said it ran successfully but when it went to boot, it just flashes the galaxy note 2 screen.
Now every time I try to flash it in Odin it fails right away.
Bump. I tried to run the odin file again and it still fails.
Im back om my old phone for now so i have some time to figure this out.

have you tried to boot into stock recovery and wipe data/cache?
I tried but it wont boot into recovery. The only thing kt will so is flash the boot screen or go into download mode

You should have just used a custom kernel. It would boot with AGNI fine. My phone is doing the same thing yours was, IE not booting touchwiz roms. AGNI always works to have it boot correctly. Now, though, you have a different problem which is you probably flashed the wrong ODIN file and might have bricked the phone.
I've used this odin file before with success though.
I couldn't find any files to download at first, but then I remembered that I had them on my computer still from a long time ago.
I figured out if you load MochaDrizzle ROM, then after booted, download the app called FOLDERMOUNT. Run it with root access and it will 'fix' a broken permission. Next load Int-SDCard Writer and hit the Download (extra fix) button and then Fix Me buttons. THen reboot. Now you should be able to re-load stock roms and have them boot.
SHEESH!
