Hi every body!
I'm going to try flashing a custom ICS Rom for EVo 3D. However, in order to save the battery life, I want to use some existing custom Kernel of EVo 3D GSM such as Ledroid, Anryl, Unity V3...etc.
But, I wonder whether the above-mentioned Custom Kernels are suitable with the ICS Rom? Or I have to wait the Custom Kernels for only ICS in the future?
Many thanks for your answer!

hi
What is the process of flashing a kernel? And what benefits does it bring?
I'm interested in flashing mine, on a GSM Hero running RCMix 2.2b.
Could someone please describe the process and which kernel is best?
thanks
You can flash it just like you flash a ROM, i'm using flykernel wich seems to be good
Hi guys! I need tour advice. I want to bring this htc sence and all htc softaware on my hero to hell, and i need some advice about custom rom.
What of all custom rom's don't include this creepy htc software and work nice w/o bugs and so on?
Hi. Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889299
You will have to look on the AOSP - no Sense ROMs.
Gingerbread ROMs are still Beta, but 2.2 ROMs have everything working fine and are really fast.
Elelinux gingerbread rom is really the best IMHO now try it out from the developement threads
Agree on using elelinux gingerbread now starting to prefer the stock ROM (though need to use a dialler replacement!)
I just rooted my 3Dvo and i want an OC Kernel but I want to keep the stock rom and with all the available roms and other bits for the 3Dvo I am overwhelmed ... any suggestions...
just flash the RCMIX kernel that one is overclocked.
Currently there are two kernels that will work that let you over clock
RCMIX EVO 3D KERNEL(lets you overclock to 2Ghz) and
Silverneedle(lets you overclock to 1.7ghz)
I have tried both with no issues, don't know which is "better". I suggest to try them both and choose the one you think fits you better
Hi, I have the htc evo 3d gsm model and i just flashed the latest LeeDroid Rom. I noticed that the battery life on this isn't that great and I started reading some posts about how others flashed a kernel and a rom. I dont know what that means but how do i go about doing it and what kernel/rom is the best for me to use?
a kernel, is the linux kernel for the device, the ground, on what the graphical interface from linux is build (in this case android).
A rom, can, but not must have a custom kernel, anyway, a custom rom changes many visual and many options to make the phone more usable and adds many apps and tweaks...
Hi guyz,
I have simple question here..Im using ST15I - unlocked - rooted- with custom kernel and ROM..I want to know that is it possible to flash a custom kernel and the stock rom..?
Is battery life depends on the kernel or the Rom.?
Because every custom ROM which I tested was good...but after few days it gave me problems like getting slow,Force close, freezing touch screen, stuck menu's,..etc.
So I wonder if there any chance to use a stock rom with a custom kernel for better performance..?
tnx
Sure, there is an option to use stock ROM and custom kernel, but they have to be compatible. I'm afraid any of CM kernels will work on stock ROM, but there's plenty of options - Lupus ICS, Extended stock kernel, MESA etc. And yes, battery life depends on kernel. Some of them are battery friendly, some of them not. But in general any custom kernel should work at least the same time as stock one (from my experience).
Bt battery life is also depended on ron, apps,3g, wifi and usage and a bunch of other things and yes depended on kernel too.
Yes stock rom and custom kernel can be done if they are compatible
