System tuner question? - HTC EVO 3D

The startup feature in system tuner, is it a task killer or does it actually prevent the app from starting at boot. for example i don't need dolphin browser starting until i intend to use it. I don't want to use it if it's a task killer. Killing apps after they have started.

I use this start up option.i.think it's really prevent the applicantion. And i guess it's little faster boot up time too.

Task manager

In task manager it days I have a total of 803 mb.
But it days used 628MB & only 175MB available. But it doesn't show any programs to close. So I'm wondering is that normal and everyone's like this?

I'd imagine Sense is using most of it.

It only shows apps running in the foreground.

Freeing up memory

Should I be using task killers to kill unwanted apps from time to time? I read somewhere that it really doesn't help. I installed wolfbreaks v0008. was really flying to start with but now getting a little laggy.also any apps that could stop apps from loading at startup?

Are you trying to free up RAM or phone memory. Doing both will help.

RAM, didn't know freeing up phone memory would help improve performance, didn't really want to get into the complexity of apps 2sd etc.

Deleting the caches in each app every once in a while helps.
For RAM, I dont use task killers at all. I let the system manage itself. And yes it works for 2.2 and even better for 2.3 but 2.1 I have to force close the big running apps sometimes. But I have noticed better performance and better battery too when not using task killers.

task manager

what is the best task manager to use?
I'm using go task manager but the problem is that it consumes a lot of RAM so it kinda slows the phone and in the same time does not kill apps efficiently, so i need a better one that kills the useless app and all that stuff

Standard Android should do the job, no need for another app.
