Hey I am like all of you awaiting the latest update for my S2.
However it was released yesterday for my network three yet even though I did update my Kies to the latest version I can not see the update, however on tech websites and facebook most three users are commenting that they did receive the update.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help
Even someone from samsung samsung told that kies suck and suggested to use odin instead

Doesn't that involve rooting my phone?

Hi everybody,
I'm new to the forum and would appreciate any help anyone could possibly offer me. I recently bought my Galaxy 10.1 and have been using it fairly contently for the past number of weeks. However I was recently looking to install Allshare and found that it was only available on version 3.2. So I entered 'Settings ->About tablet -> Software update -> Update. While trying to find updates I get the message 'Connection failed'. There is no problem with my internet connection as I am constantly online carrying out all other regular operations. When I connect using KIES, it doesn't propose any update to me.
I am living in Luxembourg and am wondering if that could be a problem considering the region of my device is 'XX', which does not include Luxembourg. But I would have expected another message, such as 'No update available'.
Any ideas anyone? Whatever I do, nothing seems to help. I'm open do any other options for updating my tab.
Thanks in advance,
Damien (Luxembourg)

get a custom rom ASAP
Yes it seems you have a bad case of "wait for the manufacturer" problem. There is only one cure: get a custom rom. The trouble with the Tab 10.1, though is that there aren't any custom roms based on Honeycomb (3.x) (to my knowledge anyway) since the source was never released by Google. So your only hope is to jump straight up to a version of ICS (4.0), which are pretty early releases right now.
Having said that I have done it and pretty much everything works fine for me. Look in the Android development for KANG (make sure you get the right one, they are different for either the wifi or 3G one).
Other than that, have a howl at Samsung I guess.

Incorrect info. There are many custom roms based on HoneyComb 3.2 in the development [email protected] If you aren't sure when giving advice, don't give advice?
Roms based on official 3.2 Honeycomb. I just picked some of the most recent releases, there are quite a few more.

Ooops, my bad. Sorry. I just read somewhere that Google never released the source to Honeycomb so I assumed that there was not going to be an AOSP. Yes I should have checked before opening my mouth on that.

And what if you download Samsung Kies on your PC and connect and update through it?
Samsung Kies is the official application by ... Samsung yeah (..) but it's not the world's most reliable application. Sometimes you might even have to install this more than once for it to recognize your Samsung device and update through it.
Maybe you already tried this, just ignore my comment then
I had something similar although my GT saw the update. After downloading it refused to install (update from approximately 13 MB). After reboot it ran the update to 13%, then rebooted and stated that it could not update. Same story when I tried to update through Kies. Trying to solve this one I flashed P7510XWKI2_P7510OXEKI1_SER through Odin on the tab and tried to update again. This time the update file was approximately 88 MB and got stuck after 9% and rebooted also telling me that it could not update. When trying to update through Kies it finally successfully updated. Maybe a bit much work (and tricky ) but it works.

Thanks for saying that. I appreciate it. It has renewed my desire to keep interacting on the forums (and learning more about what I am talking about).

Hey guys,
I got a new problem.
I updated on the SGSII from my Dad the official 4.03 (I run CM9 - what else).
Everything works pretty good for a Samsung ROM but KIES doesn't work.
I mean, he connects with KIES, I can sync but he doesn't sync/upload the new stuff on his SGSII. So I think that the problem is the media storage.
KIES worked once - and while it worked he doesn't show any information about an external media storage - it just showed no symbole etc..
So does anybody know where the problem is?
These Apps are installed: Dropbox, Adobe Reader, ES Datei Explorer, CalenGoo, CamCard, RealCalc, CamScanner, PrinterShare.
Thanks
The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.
Try updating kies to latest version.

What I'm trying to say is that I've read in different posts that you need the latest version of kies to update. Otherwise it will not let you update. Hope this helps. So if you haven't updated kies to v2 or whatever new version it is now then do that.

Just wondering that you updated the SGS2 to the latest Version ICS since the launch date is mentioned for end of April in Europe. Just could be the problem that Kies doesn't work well since it could recognize that you are not running an official Version of ICS.
Otherwise just try to get the latest Version of Kies, but mine not even will give me a chance to update to Gingerbread 2.3.6 since Samsung not launched it in Europe because of a few bugs.
Hello hello!
Okay so i may have what seems like a Noob question....I sware im not a total noob, been hacking and slashing away at android for a few years now but i just want to make sure im getting what i want outta my device!
Also so sorry if this has been posted else where- i could only find related info for the N7000...
Okay so i have the Galaxy Note AT&T version- currently running on straight talk to i dont get OTA updates, it always says upto date even when Kies says there is new software.- any ways i was reading online that that Android 4.0.4 is now out for the Note and sure enough Kies has the update for me. My question is though- i am kinda behind on my updates and am still running GB- during m readings i saw that Samsung released previously ICS 4.0 Premium Suite with a bunch of cool stuff including 30 levels of Angry Birds!!! (omg love them birds)- now im questions is when i try to update through Kies it is automatically updating from GB to ICS 4.0.4- am i getting all the premium suite stuff with that 4.0.4 update? Or does any one know where to get the premium suite rom so i can flash that with odin first and then up date to 4.0.4 throuh kies?
Thanks a million!:victory:

Yes, 4.0.4 is just a maintenance update from 4.0 so you will still have all the 4.0 goodies.

Okay.... i didnt seem to get any of them, or any of the new stuff like s cloud...
You won't get s-cloud and my story needs to be downloaded from Samsung apps other than that it's just some minor tweaks to the existing apps.

Hi all ,
Just received an OTA update on my international version of Samsung Galaxy s3.
New update shows JRO03C.I9300XXDLJ1 in phone information menu.
What I'm worried is that no official information is available on any website or any forum. I've tried it everywhere on the net but found nothing.
Can someone please guide what's going on with my gs3.
I'm using gs3 in Pakistan and not under any operator contract so things appear for my phone as international version. Most of the previous updates were pretty much documented or someone had discussed them oddly , this newest possible release is 4.1.1 and changed plenty of things.
Any info will be highly helpful.
Best Regards,
Busyboy

I installed this new firmware, my SIII became so laggy! I just want to go back to the previous version
Anyone who knows why this version is so laggy?
I have updated my phone to this version then all of sudden no calls coming through. People telling my my phone is unavailable when infact its switched on.
I then discovered that when I turn off the mobile data the calls do come through. I am not sure if there is a setting I have not picked up. I have tried GSM only and Dual Mode but same problem. Would this my phone, Network Provider ot what. I have to switch off my data now.
How do I revert to the previous version?
problems in Build Number is JRO03C.I9300XXDLK1

Hey Guys,
I am having the same problem. The day my Samsung Galaxy S3 got updated with Samsung's JB update, the performance has gone down.
The phone really lags in opening the keyboard, switching between Apps and the list goes on.
I am looking for some links to restore my ICS again.
Does any one know how ??
does anyone know the complaint email id for reporting Samsung G S3 ?? :cyclops:
It seems like there are quite a few people experiencing problems with this JB update? I myself experienced it for a while but now it seems ok again??? I don't know what or where or why though? It seems strange that Samsung would release an 'update' without making sure all glitches were ironed out? Surely they must be looking into a solution? I know a lot of people on here say 'flash a new rom' but to someone like me, even the 'easy' tutorials are a completely different language & seem so daunting!!

Hello, I am receiving an official update on my S3 device by ota, It says the amount of 419.04MB. I suppose it is Android 4.3.
But this update is recomended? Does it have any problem, or lag, or Samsung fixed it on the update?
Please tell me if it is correct to update my mobile or not.
Regards and thanks to all of you.
For me it lagged extreme!
Device: Samsung Galaxy S3
ROM: CyanogenMod 11 (Temasek Unofficial V36 )
Kernel: Boeffla-Kernel-CM11-2.1-Beta9-
Version UGML4 is fine, a slight lag on waking from deep sleep but battery life is excellent.

Update your phone via a "SMART TERMINAL" or KIES.
I updated via OTA when I got home. The update went smooth... but the phone got awful slow/laggy/terrible.
A few days passed and I found a Samsung shop. Went in and saw an "update terminal."
After it finished, the phone was buttery smooth again.
Please note, that encryption will be MUCH SLOWER. So you cannot use it encrypted anymore. At least not like you used it. It will lag, it will stutter, all the crap you can imagine. Lucky I have insurance and I use a powerful password. So even if I get robbed I can reset the phone from home and get a new phone for cheap.
But yeah, I do miss the encryption feature, I felt safer that way. But it just got way too slow.
I even took the phone back to Samsung as in warranty repair, but they told me the policy says they can't downgrade so they just pushed up the 4.3 rom all over again. Meh.
