Anyone else having these problems? If I pull the battery to reboot, I end up with a bootloop. So I reboot again with out battery cover door. When everything comes back up, I'm on 3g for a while, then it goes back to 1x....and stays there.
I am completly bone stock and locked.
Any suggestions?

Lol, I did that. It was on 1x with the cover on. I know the antennas are in the battery door.

Ok, did you check with Verizon to make sure you're not in the middle of a 4G outage?
Thats a pain in the neck to try and get them to tell you if your are or not.
I have the data droping thing, but is becuase I got the bad razr and now I wish I went with HTC.( I am past my 30 days I was told and so no swaping for me.) Good luck on fixing your 1x thing.
P.S why are the antennas in the battery door?
I think its fixed now..... Not sure what the problem was.
thanks for all your help

hello i have been trying to flash a rom now and am only able to run roms from the Kings dev. group. every other rom out there i will only get the 1x for data. i have tried everything. and now my phone just broke and will be getting a new one. so im trying to learn here how to fix that i want to run other roms but dont want to get stuck with the 1x
I have woken up with my phone having 1x, rarely but it has happened. What fixes mine is either leave it on airplane mode for a couple of seconds, take off the battery, or remove the sim card and put it back after a minute or so.
Before you do all that stuff, make sure your signal is in CDMA/LTE.

30 days and they won't help?
i just got an early upgrade because they got tired of sending me incredible 2's over the last year. the incredible 2 was itself a replacement for the fascinate. i think i went through 6 or 7 replacements in the last year. have em send you razrs until you a) get one that works or b) have gone through enough that they give you a refurb rezound instead. they will. only reason i didn't get a refurb rezound to replace the inc2 was they don't seem able to replace 3g with 4g; an upgrade is required. since the rezound was 50 bucks, i was willing to play.
Yea I am on my 2nd one and the only way to not have issues is to reboot the phone EVERY 12-24Hours. Or else this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCbvDEewcJU
They will not send me a 3rd one and "think it's the tower". I wanted to go for a rezound, but well thats life.
The guys in the razr forum hate my guts now, becuase I can't get a phone that works right.
Just wanted to weight in here, as I had a similar experience early on with my Rezound. For me, the problem was a conflict between the phone and the 4g SIM card.
The starting symptom was being stuck in 1X data mode. I had seen this a few times before, but it seemed to come out of 1X on its own by turning Mobile Network on and off. Finally, that stopped working and I was stuck in 1X mode.
Thinking a reboot might help, I initiated a reboot. Rebooting just caused the phone to boot loop. Next instinct: Pull the battery. Pulling the battery resulted in a boot loop. My new phone, less than a week old appeared to be defective.
Finally, after enough reading (and panicking!) on the web, I found out I needed to pull the 4G SIM card, which stopped the boot looping (because there was no longer a conflict between the SIM card and the phone).
Once I was able to get into the phone, I followed these directions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394659
To the OP, check out that thread and follow those instructions. For anyone else having weird issues, you might verify this setting too. It caused my Rezound to do some flaky thing with data. Once the phone setting was updated, I have not had a single problem with the mobile network.

So my Thunderbolt will randomly restart sometimes.. and drain the battery life down by at least 15%...
Other then that I wont have 3G in places I most definitely should..
I haven't down any root to the phone.. Not too familiar yet with it..
I have the extended battery with it? Maybe that has something to do with it? Idk..
If anyone has any advice/tips/tricks, it'd be much appreciated!
If you're getting random reboots and your phone is not rooted then return it and get a new one. There is something wrong with the radio in the phone.
i had the same problem except i was getting shut downs rather than reboots. it def is the radio, rooting and flashing various stock-related radios fixes the problem. as for services im getting good data service but poor reception. infact my brother picked up the droid incredible 2 and i compared how many bars of reception we had and it was about he same.. 1-2 bars, will sometimes cut off and come back on again. i evem get voice mails without missed calls, another sign of dropped service.. weird but it may be in verizons coverage for sure.

This is a problem known to Verizon with their latest radio release for RUU 605.7. Engadget had an article on this a couple weeks ago. Don't return the phone. Try a different radio and or ROM combo. Mine does it... And it seems to do it more in some areas than others. I travel a lot.
My wife's Stock TB (with OTA update) had random reboots. When we went live here with 4G her phone did not pick it up at all. She called Verizon for replacement and they suggested a factory reset first. It picked up 4G and has not rebooted since.... just a thought
Just got my replacement TB about a week and a half ago(long story), but all of the sudden after having it work perfectly for several days, I have no 3G/4G signal at all and barely even have 1x connect. Spoke to a "4G expert" at tech support and he had no idea and recommended I do a factory reset. I did...again, and it didn't help. Any ideas here before i make Verizon send me another phone? And before you ask, I'm not rooted, my back cover is securely on, and I've pulled SIM, SD and battery. Thanks.
Sounds like your Sim is dead.
update: I left town and now I have full signal everywhere I go. Called VZW tech support and they say there aren't any known issues in the area but when I get back to call them and they can run some test or another on my phone to try and figure it out. I guess they've got a tower acting up, but it's weird that I'd be the only one having a problem.
I had the exact same thing happen... 3G/4G gone, then it would come back then gone again. This time for good! Spent 90 minutes in a VZW store with them attempting to troubleshoot it and calling everyone they know.
Bottom line, they are sending me a new Tbolt.
While I was there the manager hinted it is more than likely a sim card, they have been seeing a bunch of TBolt's with similar things. To make the issue worse, this store is actively suggesting to customers NOT TO BUY a thunderbolt due to all the issues.
Ok wtf!? last night im was chilling playin some black ops and all the sudden my 4g icon was gone when i had check my phone after a text. its been a day now and i still have absolutely no data connection. i called verizon and they said theres no outage in my area (metro detroit). ive tried flashing plenty of radios since and still no data. im starting to get a wee bit butt hurt because i needs my data son! could i have possibly killed the antenna some how? anyone else ever experience this?

I've had periods where my Tbolt didn't want to connect to LTE or EVDO for a long time. It generally fixed itself after enough time. Usually way less than a day though. I'm close enough I could probably take a look at it. See if it's your phone or if mine does the same thing.

where abouts are you located? im in roseville. ive been all around today for work (clinton twp, detroit, harper woods and st clair shores) and no connection in either of them areas.
could it be that ive been flashing a stupid amount of roms/radios lately? im SERIOUSLY getting butt hurt because my gal keeps sending me what she calls "naughty pics" and im not able to download them!
thanks for the quick response from the boths of yous.
I'm in St. Louis, lost 4g this afternoon. Only 1x now. Could be Verizon, and nothing at all on your end. This is the first time I haven't had 4g since I got my bolt in May.
If its not Verizon, you could pull your sim for about 10 min, then pop it back in and power up the phone.

I'm down in Toledo at the moment. Things are working fine here. Only problem was the outage last night for a couple hours. Changed ROMs and radios since then, too, with no issue.

im mean NO DATA! nothing at all. no 1x,3g or 4g
weather widget is from when i restored the rom, it wont update
edit. did a sim pull for 10 mins and vuala 1x pops up then changes to 3g. about 10 seconds later BOOM! nothing... im gonna try a sim pull for like an hour and see what happens with that. shouldnt be any difference but its worth a shot.
This could be many things, most likely you'll need a new SIM, youll need to unroot and restore stock, go into VZW, they'll give you a new one.

I'm in the same boat! Randomly lost all data a day or 2 ago. Tried everything soo far. Assumed my sim card is dead But people say it's a network problem. I get 3g in Rev.A mode. But nothing in normal mode. I'm pissed. Willing to try a new sim card but not unrooting my phone just for a sim. What would happen if you brought a rooted phone into Verizon. I just want a sim. Would they deny you service? Or put a note on your account stating your phone has been rooted and to void your warranties?
Last time I went to the store I knew more about the phone than all three reps combined. I doubt they would even know its rooted.
Put my phone in LTE mode and got 4g back finally.

If you were returning it, yeah, then I'd go back to stock. But, for a sim swap, you can power it off, and pull the sim for them, they won't even notice it when it boots. Unless of course your boot sound is F*** Verizon or something

im convinced its my phone. went into verizon today and the reps tbolt was working fine both 3g and 4g. we did a sim swap and still nothing although, i did get like 2 mins of 4g love about 3 hours after the sim swap but then right back to nothing after it downloaded some pics from texts.
does this have anything to do with it?
i need some help here
spent an hour on the phone with Verizon and they said the netowrk in my area was fine. After all was done and said they are shipping me a new sim. Today when I woke up my phone had a data connection. I haven't shut it off or anything since the tech call.

In the past two weeks, my mobile data has been down. I don't believe it to be an outage in my area due to the duration of the problem, and the inconsistency with other Verizon Wireless phones. I was running Juice Defender for a while, and every now and then I would notice that the Mobile Network would drop. Toggling the Mobile Network would not fix the problem, either. I usually cleaned out my cached data for the Juice Defender app, turned the app off, then toggled airplane mode once. (Sometimes just toggling Airplane Mode wouldn't fix it, therefore I had to clear the cache for the app.) Now this fails to work. I cannot get my mobile network to connect by any conventional means. When I receive MMS messages, my network will connect long enough to download the attachment. Also when I do a search for a Software Update, it connects just long enough to tell me there aren't any updates for my phone. I've tried updating my PRL with *228 and I've even tried *18 from a post over at Droid Forums. Neither work. I've removed the battery and SIM Card as suggested in some other threads here at XDA. I've also removed the Juice Defender app.
The phone is not rooted and has never been rooted with the Temp Root methods. I'm not opposed to rooting, but if I root, I'm gonna perm root and I would rather not have to factory reset my phone if I don't have to right now. I'm mainly posting this because I cannot find anyone online with the same issue that I am having. Any help would be appreciated. Personally, I think its an issue with Dalvik-VM. I can attach a copy of my LogCat if needed. Any ideas on my issue? Thanks in advance!
Check your power settings, if you are in economy mode it will mess with your data connection.
I have a paid version of JuiceDefender, it has caused me so many problems I don't even bother to install it anymore.

I also have the same issue, tried a couple basebands and could not fix it. I ended up not using it...
Every once in a while my mobile network or just lte somehow gets turned off and I have to turn it back on, but that's rare.
I tried juIce Defender and also had problems losing my connection so I uninstalled it. Plus the settings were so confusing to me. I'm using Green Power now and that seems fine.
You didn't mention mhs so I assume you're not using it but that has known connection issues.

Juice Defender gave me fits, too. I'm not using my phone as a Mobile Hotspot, either.
I kinda think its my ROM. I'll play around with some stuff, or I'll just get around to doing a factory reset and see if that fixes the problem. I'll post any solutions here for others.
Are you in a good 4g area? If you scroll down the general section here, you will find my topic. If you use 3g more than 4g, there is a post in that thread about##778#. It helped me. Sorry if it doesn't help you, Cheers.

I just wanted to let you know that I'm having this problem as well. I AM rooted and running CleanRom, but my daughter has a non rooted Bionic, and both of us suffered a complete loss of data today. My husband's rooted Rezound is fine.
I took my phone into Verizon today, and after initially just trying to swap out the phone (which I wouldn't allow them to do, it took me too long to get my phone the way I want it), they finally switched out the 4G sim card, and the data came back instantly.
When my daughter leaves school today, she will get her 4G card swapped out as well, and we'll see if it is in fact a network connectivity problem.
It seems to me that our 4G phones has a lot of trouble switching from wifi to 3G/4G service.

I will +1 this. My work WiFi is spotty, and so the phone falls in and out of WiFi. The Rezound HATES that and usually leaves me with no connectivity. There is definitely a WiFi->Mobile Network issue.
Try doing a factory reset. Could be a bad device... Im getting amazing reception on mine. I havent even seen my 3G or 1x icons yet. Constant 4G lock.
Forget what I said, my data connection has been dropped again for the past thirty minutes and there's no way for me to get it back.
I'm going to try a factory reset. I *really* don't want to have to send my phone back because my husband is getting amazing coverage on his Rezound. However, we're still in the first week of our Verizon contract, and if this looks like it will be a standing issue, then we'll have to cancel and go crawling back to horrible Sprint.

I think I'm going to try doing this. How painful was it for you to convince them to give you another SIM Card?
Edit: Just read your last post. Please let me know what a factory reset does for you.
They had no issues at all swapping out my 4G card, they certainly couldn't let me walk out of the store with no signal. They knew they had to try something.
The factory reset on the phone appeared to work. I've been steadily switching it from wifi to data, and the data signal picks up, albeit a tad bit slow. Only thing is, I still don't really get 4g, while my husband's Rezound has a great signal.
I got insurance on the phone, so I'll put up with it as long as I can before I start screaming at Verizon.
Good to hear. I'm going to try to switch out my SIM card today and see if that fixes it. I thought maybe it was something with the ROM, seeing as how my 3G will turn on whenever I need to send an MMS message, so a factory reset made sense to me. I just don't want to do it. Lol. Thanks for the info!
I've experienced it twice in the last 24hrs and it just happened to be right after I installed and used LTE OnOff. Don't know if there might be a connection there. I keep forgetting this phone has the ability to switch 4g/3G unlike the TBolt. Needless to say, that app is no longer on the phone.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
I had an issue with the mobile network just dropping in and out (other people in the room did not lose signal). We currently don't have 4G and it is 3G only. I did a factory reset of the phone, but it continued to occur. Took the phone back to Verizon store to exchange it (it was 1 week old). At first they weren't going to and gave me a run around but in the end exchanged it. Have had no problems with new phone.
My girlfriend's Bionic keeps dropping 4G more frequently than my Rezound. I get this problem too though. Usually a toggle of Airplane Mode fixes it...but it's pretty damn annoying. Happens once or twice a day!
A Factory Reset fixed it. Everything went smoothly, too. I backed up all my SMS Messages with HTC's Messaging app, and got my network back as soon as I restored it and set everything back up. Hopefully this will help anyone else who might have had the same problem.
I've been side by side with a fresh Rezound and watched both of them jump from 4g to 1x to 3g and sometimes never 3g. The problems were a million times worse with my droid charge as it's a combination of the handsets and the towers.

Hmmm
I have this happen if I am in an area with NO signal (such as the basement level of my office building) for long time. Only a reboot will bring back data. Does not happen often (maybe 2ce in a month and a half).
I am intrigued by the person who blames the install of LTEOnOff. I have it installed but do not use it. Maybe if I ever have to hard reset (such as if ever run the unlock), I will not reinstall that program.
I had a defective DNA from day 1 without knowing it. My camera wouldn't focus, no matter what I tried, so the store swapped it out for a brand new one (I watched the associate open the box). I want to clarify something up front as well, I NEVER had any problems getting service with my previous DNA. No matter where I was I seemed to have perfect 4G, never dropped signal, no ping problems, no speed problems. Even on 3G it would switch between the 2 just fine with no problems.
This new one I have is apparently incapable of holding a 4G signal. Nor is it capable of doing anything involving the internet for minutes at a time, regardless of having a perfect 4G signal. It will literally sit in Chrome for a minute trying to load a webpage with 3 bars of 4G. Inside a restaurant It was almost useless, trying constantly to switch between LTE and CDMA. I restart the phone all the time thinking that will help, and once in a while it will do the trick. Most of the time restarting does nothing though. I'm at a loss as to why this phone could be acting like this, and I'm asking for some advice. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, meanwhile I will continue to try different things.
Have you been able to compare the signal at the same spot with another phone?
Send that fanned thing back for a replacement! That's the whole reason I left the s3... Thats not how this phone should be behaving.

That sucks. Maybe a new sim card would help?
First try new sim.
Second if you are rooted, try set dns and use Google dns. Don't know about verizon, but my local providers dns sometimes goes on fritz causing lot of delay in page loading and even fails at times.
Best thing to do is side by side comparison. Try your sim in other phone at verizon store and see if that is acting fine
From my Droid DNA, right in your face....
take it back man get another. we spent too much on these phones to be dealing with issues like that.If your like me your stuck with it for a couple years. It should work as a phone first and foremost. Thats why i got rid of my gnex!
Just so you know, the bars next to the 3G/4G icon is not your data signal. Those bars just represent the basic phone signal for making phone calls..
The bars have nothing to do with data..
