Currently it's in the 2nd place behind another good phone, Galaxy Nexus.

We should be on the top #1. Nexus should be even with Galaxy S2

Thanks to all of you, our favorite phone is trending nicely @#1 now!
I think we'll succeed in putting it on top this week.

We need 60 more votse to beat the Nexsits, oh sorry Nexus. Come on guys
TO be honest i still can't find out why nexus is a great phone better than Samsung S2
Both now have ICS. Almost same specs with S2, camera only 5MP, no micro slot for expended memory. AND S2 came out more than 1 year ago, Nexus when pretty new like our Note. Haizzz
I like how the experts rank the 4s #1 with 35 points and then the nexus 2nd with only 22 points and the note with only 14 points, seriously what a freaking joke
We got the #1 spot last week! Yes!
Let's keep it there~ Come and vote!!!!
Five million Galaxy Notes shipped!
Note currently trending #1 amongst fans
I just voted for my Awesome, Bad Azz Note!

I agree, alot of these so called experts just love to hate on the Note, even though a ton of the public loves it. I voted this week.
Guys at BGR and Gizmodo should take their foot out of their mouths after writing articles like these:

It's really funny how Phonedog splits Galaxy S-II phones as four different phones, when in fact, they should all be under one phone model. No, they won't do that because that would put GS-II ahead of their beloved iPhone 4S! Crappleaddicts!
Galaxy Note has been #1 in Phondog's ranking for three weeks but it's currently trending at #2 behind the new challenger, Nokia Lumia 900!
Come on, you loyal Note fans, make your vote count and let's keep our beloved up there at the deserving place of #1!!!

Seems like its APPLE whose doing the catch up now...
SGS2 has already all the features that the Iphone4s has.. no wonder Apple is running crazy trying to ban the SGS2..
It all makes Sense,
But I guess it won't stop Brainwashed Iphone fans to still QUE for it at midnight which makes them the HIGH I guess.
I just caught up with the new features being touted for the 4S and my only reaction was that most (hardware AND os) are being enjoyed by people on other phones already and in some cases for months. HSDPA? 3K pictures? 1080p video? Voice recognition and speech? Yep, been there and doing those.
The only good things about iPhones these days is that they make other manufacturers push their products on a little bit harder.

Developers do make some excellent games for the iOS platform. I'll admit, I've logged some serious time on Infinity Blade using my wife's iphone. Right now though, there is no finer device on the market than the SGS2. I would never trade the openess of Android for a locked down iPhone. Only device I'll consider changing to is the Nexus Prime.
Ok so I am officially donating my iPhone 4 to the concrete.
I am looking for its replacement, any suggestions?
I can wait for things that are due out soon.
And i have always been a fan of HTC Touch pro2 type phones but I know the ol qwerty hardware keyboard is a thing of the past it seems.
So whats the best of the best as i will not buy anything but.

I'm also going to jump onto the SGSII bandwagon. I have the one from Sprint and I swear I can't make this phone lag. I've tried freaking everything and it just won't lag.
Since EL12 came out and fixed the LOS and game bug crash issues, I've had zero issues with it. So I assume that the sgsII from other providers are just as good (especially the ones with the exynos processors).
SGSII FTW!!!
Photon 4G. More of a business type phone. It holds signal much better than the SGSII. It's screen is 4.3 inches and a bit thicker. Great build quality. The development side is poor though as unlocking right now will break your 4G. I can also recommend the Droid Razr.

Well I hate
1) I cannot do anything to the phone, ROMS etc
2) I am tired of paying for every app I want to use.
3) They wont unlock it so i can use it when i travel
4) The display is as boring as watching CNN, those little squares are so stupid
5) I miss my HTC screens where I check the weather and the sun shines, or rain drops hit my screen etc. I like to be entertained by my phone and the iPhone is just so linear in that regard.

Cnet has a pretty good write up talking about it, but I thought it odd, but interesting, to compare something so small to something so big. While I don't agree that one requiring a full size dedicated tablet could easily forego that need in favor of a Note, I do find that they offer up some good talking points. I gave up my nook color for the time being, things are working out well for me so far, but time will tell.

Just wait until Samsung OFFICIALLY announces the tab 10.1/11.6 perhaps even today . Just like before right after Apple releases their iPad Samsung will come out and top it. Last year Samsung went ahead and changed the ergonomics of the Tab 10.1 within weeks to have a slimmer lighter tablet compared to the iPad lol .
It was originally rumored to have a dual core CPU that similar to our Note phones with the same resolution. I have a really really good feeling that will not be the case that it could have a even faster CPU, & mind you that have not even said what the GPU is. I can assure you that Samsung has prob made changes to that of the specs we seen at Mobile World Congress, i hope
They will not let Apple go about their glory without a fight. Especially after them taking shots at the Galaxy tab during their keynote. Which someone at Samsung has already commented on lol.
Samsung has a rumor going around that they are "pocketing" a Galaxy Note tab 11.6" with a resolution of 2650x1600 beating out the new ipad by a million pixels.
Either way Samsung has something big today at 4pm central. Could it be the new Note tablet, ICS for our Notes? Galaxy S3. Who knows its still Samsung so lets not hold our breath lol.
I dunno about you but id love to buddy up my Galaxy Note with a 11.6" version
Well they I kinda only compared one set of features that really were pretty much the same thing. Cool but they over looked a lot of stuff on the iPad. This is coming from someone who hates apple products.

I will be interested in the Galaxy Note 10.1 once it comes out. I just pre ordered the new ipad. (I had a $500 gift card from a sales contest). It delivers March 16th. Depending on when the Galaxy Note 10.1 is coming out, I may sell the ipad. Does anyone know when it is coming?

I wanted at least a 4.7" or 4.8" for my next device; was also thinking of trying WP8 (after 2 years and numerous Android devices).

Well, I am a current Photon owner & user; so my thinking was along the lines of starting a discussion/feedback with/from other Photon owners who might be in a similar boat. Since the Note is not on Sprint, I figured I'd post here rather than on the AT&T Note forums.
I guess since my OP doesn't mention anything about current Photon users and/or Sprint customers, its a bit lacking.
Anyway, no big deal, we can move this or let it die out.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I currently have a Photon and have been hoping Sprint might get the note.
Unless we see a Motorola nexus device, and the rumor is true, the note 2 will be my next device.

I'm in the exact same boat as OP. I was strongly considering getting a WP8 device, though afaik none have been announced for Sprint. But, the Note 2 specs sure are compelling.
Sadly, Sprint has committed itself to sell the iPhone for the next few years and won't take a shot at a fledgling OS like WP.
Even though WP8 is creating excitement among a lot of users, Sprint doesn't seem to think it will sell as many devices as the iPhone. They have a 'wait & watch' approach with regards to WP8.
And as much as I don't like it, I can't argue with the logic. The iPhone has proven to be Sprint's fastest selling device (or something to that effect).
Oh well, as long as they get the Note 2, I will be happy.
The specs are compelling especially the quad-core CPU and the 2GB ram. It makes it future-proof, well as far as it can go nowadays.
On a different 'note'; XDA has created a separate forum for the 'Note 2'.
Quad core, with old cortex A-9 cores. Looks like the number of cores is selling itself again. Not newer, power saving technology with better performance.

Well, true.
Before the release there were some rumors about the dual-core 5512 (I may not have the right number) powering the Note 2. I guess Samsung wants to keep it for the next year.
I guess Samsung's strategy is to have the same internals for their flagship Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Note series. If they release a device within a few months, and with better internal hardware than its 'main' flagship, its sales will suffer, come next year. By using the same internals, it probably also cuts down on their development time.
Since the Note has sold as much or more than flagship devices from other Android vendors, it has become Samsung's secondary flagship (so to speak). I see them carrying on this tradition of offering two phones with the same chassis (CPU/RAM) but with different bodies (4.8"/5.5").
Going with better internals on the Note would pi$$ off their GS buyers (even if they have no intention of considering a 5.5" device).
I understand their strategy, but I don't understand people, why are they donating companies with so much money for similar hardware, they already have, just slightly improved. What is better on Note 2, comparing to Note? Doubled cores (almost the same) and doubled memory. Or S2 comparing to S3? Only number of cores.
Not much real performance upgrade for everyday usage, but high price again.
But I cannot wait for comparison of performance and price of LG Optimus G with S3 or Note2.

I really like the note 2 but my next phone will probably be the s3.
I'm trying to talk my wife into upgrading from her evo shift to the note 2 so I can play with it.
I like the photon but the video I saw made me consider buying one outright instead of waiting till next August for my upgrade. The pen is cool but being able to watch a movie and browse the net or whatever at the same time would be awesome.
I owned a Photon and because Sprint did not have good data service in my area I have decided to switch to ATT and got the Galaxy Note 1. I can tell you this, the phone is big at first but if you tell me to go back to the smaller size.... I will say forget it. This phone is good and function as a tablet itself. Performance wise, everything is good but compare to Photon's reception, and GPS performance, I would said Motorola is better. It does not mean the Note is bad... Note works well but not as good as Photon in some indoor areas. My next upgrade will be Nokia WP8, I am waiting for the next Lumia and skip the up coming one. By the end of next year the OS should get more mature, Nokia will come with new hardware, probably get edge to edge screen and better camera.

So I see some rumors that the Galaxy Note II is due out in October - I've only had my Note for about 9 or 10 months but already starting to covet it. I could use the hairline cracks as an excuse, but really I just want the new features.
The other part of me things that it is a waste of money - in another year or so, the Galaxy Note III or some other phablet will be out, and the Note II price will drop, just like the Note price is about to drop.
Are you going to upgrade to the Note II? What are the reasons?
[Side question - is Samsung shooting themselves in the foot by releasing new phones every 4-6 months? I think it's a little crazy. I wanted a GSIII until I saw the rounded corners and felt the "tiny" screen in my hands.]
No. I'm perfectly content with my note. I'll probably upgrade next year. Maybe something even better will be out.
It just isn't enough of upgrade for me.

No, I mean the thing where you take a picture, and it actually takes like 5 pictures and let's you choose the best face of each person in the shot.
I want it for the battery life. the battery life in the current note is an absolute atrocity. but if they still have it charging at only 1 amp there is no way I'll buy it because it'll take an even more pathetic amount of time to charge. My phone is on the charger more than it is off the charger. literally.
I say no as well. The hardware upgrade is minor and any software features we could want will eventually filter into roms built by the XDA devs. I see no reason to leave the Note yet.
I'll wait until next spring or summer for the s4
Ha ha I'm upgrading just cause I'm an asshole and I have three lines available for upgrade in Oct Nov and Feb. Nothing better to do!?
Currently after seeing the specs, quad core with 2gb of ram, i want it.

Probably, with my POS Moto Atrix 4G. I have been wanting to get a Samsung phone for a while. I love the concept of having 5.5" screen with me at all times... But the thing is gonna be a beast once I get an otterbox for it lol.
2 more months (exactly) till I get it! But seriously, it is a fast beauty. I can't wait.
