I got a new Note today. All I did was root it, and install custom CWM. Then deleted/froze unwanted AT&T bloatware.
Installed all my apps from Market.
All apps are working as intended, but google voice is simply force closing. I updated to the latest version, and it is still force closing.
Help please...!!!
Running Google Voice here no problems. Rooted but with stock ROM. Perhaps try going back to stock rom and see if you still fc.

I am on stock. I didn't install any ROM.
All I did is root based on the instructions in the OP in the thread below:
[ROOT/UNROOT/Custom Recoveries/Kernels/Roms] AT&T Galaxy Note ONLY!/ No Flash Counter
That's it. Its still stock!
To add, this is the only app thats force closing.
Edit: Did a dalvik cache wipe too. Still no help.
I deleted some bloatware. Could you please zip up the /system/app folder for me please. I will try pushing them back and see if that helps.
Got it working. It was a case with restoring contacts data from Infuse backup. Bang! Missed on that part earlier.
Mods, please close this thread.

Sorry - not enough posts to post in development thread.
Anyway, I rooted and installed Das Bamf 1.2.1 tonight and everything's fine on it. Only problem is that I can't install anything Google related from the market - everything downloads fine, but the installation comes up as unsuccessful. I have tried clearing out cache/data for Market, as well as uninstalling updates, but that doesn't help.
Any ideas?

before installing this rom, did you do a full wipe? wipe data/cache/delvik cache?
If the google apps were modded or changed or signed when they baked the rom you will have this problem because all google apps are signed by googles own signing key. So wait for the rom dev to update their rom or use a different rom or delete the google apk in system/app folder and download
Hi to everyone,
Sorry for repeating the thread, but I haven't find solution for my problem.
Each time I start Android Market it force close. I tried Android Market v2.2.6, v2.3.6, v3.0.27. I tired to open new gmail account, factory reset, remove SD card, restart, use ZipSigner... and still the same.
Could someone help me?
I have rooted Samsung Galaxy S2, Android Gingerbread v2.3.3, kernel XWKE7.
Best regards!
Wipe phone flash stock firmware via Odin is what i would do .

Also try fixing permissions in CWM that works a lot of the time for FC issues.
Custom rom or theme?
Try cleaning the cache and darlvik cache
Update to a newer stock or custom rom.
Make sure your kernel matches your rom.

Reboot into clockwordmod, advanced, fix permissions, reboot.
Fixing permissions usually (not all the time) does work, other than that i would do a full wipe and start afresh.

I have problem with opening the market, so I can't download "fix permission".
Problem solved.
Hi to everyone,
I made official update of my ROM (according to product code seems that it is now for my country) and got pre installed Android Market that is working.
Everything is fine now.
Thank you for your time and effort.
Best regards!
Hello,
I'm a noob and in need of desperate help. I recently flashed my SGS2 with CM 7.1 I installed all the Gapps and at first it all ran fine. But now the Market keeps on force closing on me with the errors:
com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly please try again
android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly.
I am unable to install/download any apps that I desperately need.
Steps taken:
clear Cache and data
flashed Gapps
Try selecting Language to English (Canada)
downloaded another Marketplace.apk
I am stumped and I don't know what else I can do.
Updating to a newer stock or custom rom will do it for sure
Hey Guys,
i have the following same problem:
Phone: i9001
ROm: MIUI Framework GFAN LUffy ROm
Kernel: [email protected]
XXKPK 2.3.6
Everything is working fine except the market.
The ROM comes without googleMarket.
Ive installed the market via *.apk 3.*.15
Everytime i start the app it loads...after couple seconds, Force Close.
I ve reinstalled the ROm etc,
Wiped Data, Rooted, Wipe Cache , fixed permission, Wiped dalvik cache, reinstalled the market...
Same again...Force Close..
I uninstalled the market via Root Uninstaller,
then reinstalled,
started the app....after a while it loaded the screen of the market, i saw the homescreen of the market. Then i tried to download something "whattsapp" whatever....., same again, FC...
Anybody who has experiences with this issue?
ForceCloses at market?
Thanks
Like Markoldfield said, updating to a stock or newer custom rom will solve it.
had the same issue yesterday after the russian email update mess, the only thing that worked for me was restoring an old version of market with TI
I think i know the answer since i had the same problem that i removed the download app and the download provider
so you get them back or reflash the rom

Hi there,
Is anyone still encountering FC/not dowloading apps for Playstore or market, it might also be the cause of new partition or something like that , you can try this option freely..
1. check if cache folder has "download" folder inside it, if it no download folder then create one inside /cache, e.g. mkdir /cache/download.
2. then chmod the /cache folder to 777, also make sure the com.android.vending folder is present inside /data/data/ folder.
3. You can achive it through shell terminal.
Hope this helps you guys fix the FC(Force close or not downloading apps on playstore or market).
Hit thanks if it helps.
Thanks

I'm using the most recent CM7 for the Atrix and faux123's 0.21 kernel. Randomly I get force closes of gapps and the google framework. Other than these force closes CM7 is running beautifully for me. Any suggestions?
Need a little background.
Did you come from stock, another rom or cm7 beta ?
Did you wipe or clean you caches ?
Fix permissions ?
Restore your apps with TiBackup ? Did you use apps+data, just apps or something else ?

I came from the leaked Gobstopper and I did clear my cache as well as fix permissions. I restored some apps without data, some with and others I just re-downloaded from the market. It seems when I'm playing around with my contacts, i.e. deleting some and then adding others that the google framework force closes. It's not frequent by any means and only really happens when syncing I'd say. Should I just try reverting to my backup and then freshly installing everything, restoring backed up apps without data? Thanks.

He's on 2.3.7, AFAIK there are no Google apps yet that work properly. Check ROM Manager daily OP.

Ahh so what you're saying is that nobody has google apps working properly? Cuz I keep on getting com.google.process.gapps force closing on me when playing around with my contacts. Especially when I'm syncing my google account it ALWAYS force closes.
New development: I turned off syncing for my contacts, but kept Gmail, Calendar and Picasa Web Albums and no more force closes! When I turn syncing for contacts back on and sync, it force closes. So there seems to be a problem syncing contacts, but that's all.
Try changing language to English from Hd. This has helped with market fc.

What do you mean from Hd? In the language and keyboard setting I've had English (Canada) set this whole time.
I have been runing cm7 for the past 5 days. Not a single force close

Can you try and go to Accounts and Sync and sync your google account (specifically your contacts) and see if it force closes? Thanks.

I tried that and no cigar. Like I said it just seems to be when my contacts sync that I get the force close. Not the end of the world so I'll keep using CM7. Just wondering if I should tell the devs, but I may be the only one having this problem.

Yup did that with no issues. Everytime i flash a rom a re sync my accounts. I have 5 google accounts all are syncd. Did u restore apps with system data ? Id boot cwm wipe data factoryreset 3 times wipe cache 3 times and wipe davalik cache 3 times then reflash cm7 boot and sign in your accounts i bet it doesnt happen anymore. Either u didnt wipe properly before flashing cm7 or a bad restore off system data
Also make sure you don't have nor did use any leaked app from ICS, especially G+. That is known to cause FCs on contacts and sync.

I didn't restore any system apps and I thought I wiped my cache, but maybe not. Do the Google Apps stay installed after I wipe everything and flash again? I'm gonna try your suggestion and redo everything making sure to wipe diligently. Thanks.

Nope, haven't used any of the ICS stuff. Thanks for the tip though! I really just flashed CM7, flashed faux's kernel then Google Apps and tried syncing then got the force close. Funny thing is my contacts still sync.
Having the same problem. This occurs with both google's regular calendar app as well as other apps that use it (i.e. business calendar). The FC error:
Sorry! The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Didn't have any problems with the original CM7 beta. Did a regular update and was getting the error. Then did a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik cache) and still getting it.
=\
I was on CM7 -B^-N and everything worked fine until I installed faux's CM7 kernel. I get random force closes on occasion (rarely) but my camera is now a consistent force close. They released an updated CM7 (Ba2tF) with bug fixes in the change log so I updated but the problem is still there. I'll probably eventually do a full wipe but damn is that annoying.

I am running CM 7.1.0 Ba2tF with the included kernel on an Atrix (not 4G). Everything works fine here.
Maybe its just me but even doing a full wipe only takes 30 seconds of time. Just do a fastboot wipe of boot and cache and install the kernel again. Most likely will work

I am curious if there are any Custom ROMS that do NOT have root access- Or superuser app pre-installed?
The reason I am asking is I need a phone just for work. I need to have access to 2 apps. Good for Enterprise - and Lync 2010.
I used my old Vibrant for this task. I was on ICS Passion but I was unable to install GOOD for enterprise app due to the device being Rooted.
I used ODIN to return to stock settings. I updated the phone to 2.2 via samsung Kies mini.
Now I have Good working but can't download Lync 2010 because the Google market wont update to Google Play.
So in short I need a ROM that is not rooted but has Google Play.
Any ideas would be great..
Thanks!!
There is OTA Rootkeeper from the market that will allow you to delete and restore root at-will. Also I think that SuperSU will allow you to do this as well, only I'm not sure if that is the paid version or not.
For the Google Market to Play thing, I am pretty sure that if you clear data and cache on the Market and Force Close it, it will update on its own. If it is themed, then hit Unintall Updates and then cleanr data and cache and Force Close. Then it should update on it's own too.

Thank you very much! Force stop on market updater in combination with clearing the cache forced the Google Play upgrade.
I will look into rootkeeper and SuperSU as alternatives so I can have a better ROM. The stock ROM is terrible.
Thanks!
UPDATE--
Still having some issues. Unfortunately LYNC 2010 is not supported on 2.2 and below. So I am still in need of a custom ROM that is NOT rooted (or can be unrooted)
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
So, I have the AOKP ROM on my phone and I decided to update my ROM through the updater that came with the ROM.
After updating it, I started having pop ups with 'android.process.acore'. It keeps telling me that it was crashing.
So, after researching, I uninstalled my Facebook and cleared my Contact Data etc.
Then I realized that after updating my ROM, my Gmail, G-Talk, and Google Play Store stopped working/uninstalled.
Every time I try to open the play store, it would crash and force close....
After multiple times, I decided to restore factory settings and wipe data/clear cache through recovery mode and reinstalled the ROM the old school way (downloading it online and storing it onto my SD card).
After properly installing the new ROM (AOKP), I still don't have my Google Play Store. I've tried to get my phone to download and install the APK file online, but my phone doesn't recognize the apk file.....
Now, I don't know what to do. I think I f'ed up..... Help? I tried searching it already......
Please and thank you for reading.
