My car 2008 mitsubishi eclipse gt se. Dosent have any inputs,or bluetooth for music which stinks it has a awesome stock system a 650-watt (max.) Rockford-Fosgate Premium Audio system with SIRIUS Satellite Radio, including 6-month pre-paid subscription....The system plays through nine speakers, including a 10-inch subwoofer.
So heres my question without bluetooth or inputs to my radio, the sirius satellite radio has a ID/ESN number right? to link it...is there a way to connect to it with my phone, like push music through some type of channel or something?....i hate not having any inputs on my car radio, But I want to keep it stock , just trying to figure out any ideas,or people thoughts on this......thanks

I got an adapter like that on ebay for a factory CD changer on a 2004 Chrysler and it has been perfect.
so where does the adapter plug into?...im confused i have no inputs?...just a 6 disk changer in head unit...so i was thinking of a way to carry a signal thru sirus perhaps?

This cable allows an Auxiliary audio source to be played through your factory radio. Radio must be aux capable. To find out turn on your radio and press down and hold down the CD button. Radio should then enter ''AUX'' mode, seen on Radio screen.
Aux input port wire in through your factory wiring harness. Very easy to do. The hardest part is removing the radio. Full installation directions are available via Email upon request.
This kit will plug into the headphone plug on a source such as a Microsoft Zune, Zen Player, iRiver, SanDisc, Samsung player and any other mp3 player.
You can get an FM transmitter. You plug the phone into the transmitter and it broadcasts the audio over a non-used FM channel. You set your radio to that channel and recieve your audio.

I use a Bluetooth speakerphone with a built-in fm transmitter. It puts the mic right in front of you and sends the output to the stereo.

whoa i never seen one of those before....Have you seen anything like that for a Samsung note? If not just gonna buy a cheap ipod touch i use it for music...i like that idea...thanks
If neither of those ebay items does Bluetooth to FM, take a look at Sound Fly, they have several models (they also do audio jack to FM and built-in SD card reader to FM). I like BT to FM better because its one less thing to fiddle with each time I get into and out of my car. Pull my phone out of my pocket, hit play and go. Even when streaming XM via the data connection it only pulls 15% of the battery per hour so I don't bother plugging in a charge connection either.
By the way, do not bother with the SiriusXM app if you have an online account. It will NOT give you the full 128 kbps you can get with other options (such as streaming from your desktop computer). Get Xiia Lite from the market and go to mobile.musicdock.com. Make sure you set 128 in the settings after you log into musicdock, then set up your favorite channels, and you are good to go. Much better sound.

It seems there aren't any yet. What you need is a car kit (and a PDA) that supports A2DP Bluetooth profile. I have not been able to find any references to such kit being available for sale anywhere. However, there is a car stereo from Pioneer that will support A2DP once released.
Take a look at this fairly comprehensive list of A2DP compliant devices - perhaps when someone develops the car kit you need, it will show up there.

Kenji776: if you can listen to calls over your bluetooth, have a go on my app VJVolubilis, using the -agon option.
It might work to open audio generally over the bluetooth connection, playing all sound out. Works on some devices, but not all.

i have a2dp in my car. I modified my HP bluetooth headphones and wired it directly to the aux input of my deck. I relocated the buttons to the front near the deck so now i have full control of the playback without touching or looking at my pda.
No this does NOT work with the wizard because i don't use it as my music player and i don't know if it supports a2dp profile but it works flawlessly with my hp rx3115. I also don't need a car holder for it because my pda just sits in my pocket or in the glove compartment. One feature i love about this is the fact that i can take out my rx3115 and control the music from 15ft outside the car.

2. hands-free set

works a treat - audio can be played from SD card through manilla or wmp with no problems - you can even skip tracks using the stereo whilst tomtom is on your screen and everything performs great. Audio is paused when a call comes in and resumes when the call ends.
The only drawback for me is there is no visual feedback on the player such as track name or callers name etc... but dont know if this is even possible.

I have just installed a pioneer FH-P80BT Double Din and its is the bees knees.
It will do all you ask but i have not quite figured out how to do the Voice activated Dialing yet. Not sure if it will work with MSVC.
It auto downloads your phone book and you can dial from the Stereo itself.
You can also connect a laptop hard drive as the USB supports true 5v line.

i'd be careful about recommending it for use with portable HDD's though 0 it couldnt give enough juice to power up my WD Passport - but have to agree its a great headunit to pair up with the touch HD.
I use it to charge my device - just remember to use activesync mode just for charging otherwise you can't use your memory card for things like tom tom.

I've got a JVC KD-BT22 + a JVC DAB unit + an external 300GB HD (you could use a USB key instead or it has line in)
The JVC unit starts playing music from my Touch HD as I get into the car although having an external USB hardisk full of around 30gb's of music means I don't really need it.
It also works as a hands free (voice via the speakers, etc) the voice quality isn't brilliant on the unit as it doesn't use an external mic although I've read of some tweaks to make it better.

Ah right.... I have read on the MkiV Golf Forum it gives enough Juice so i was only going from what others have said.... I will be trying myself next week. According to the guys there, it only supports upto 250Gb and needs to be formatted FAT32.
I'll be opting for the 160Gb version myself.
Also... have you managed to activate MSVC via the long press of the Esc--Band button ?

ah! I don't think my drive was formatted to FAT32 (probably NTFS) which is why it didn't pick it up- dunno to be honest as I wasnt really that bothered having my HD with all its music on Also I had swapped out my internal 250GB WD drive with my PS3's standard 40Gb drive - maybe why it was supping a bit more juice than a standard WD one....
It was however making the infamous clicking sound you get when a drive doesnt have enough power to it - I might try it again later at some point when I have more than 2Gb of stuff I need access to in my car
I'm sure I tried that MSVC thing with Duttys 1.7 ROM a while back and it didnt work - I've got his 2.1 Xtreme ROM now so will give it another try tommorow morning.
It's a great headunit but I find it a bit plasticy for my liking (my fault for selling my Pioneer reference system I suppose!) - Button presses feel cheap and that front screen attracts dust quicker than my PC at home!

Probably bc the standard 3.5mm headphone jack is only for transmitting audio, not to control anything.
This should be possible if you have a radio with USB input for flash drives or ipods but not over an aux cable. Perhaps you could try to find an aux cable with the track forward/reverse built in to the cable? I know I've seen headphones with it but not sure about the cable alone..

I had an aux in fitted in my car and was told the next/previous would work. When it didnt they said it would only work on a ipod. Interesting comment about the cable - anyone able to confirm whether the headphones lead is different?
To be honest, with the swipe action on the music player, this doesnt really bother me as its easy to do this whilst driving. However, I'd like to switch to another music app given the random function doesnt work properly....
I definitely know where youre coming from, I've always used an ipod for music, but want to use my mt4g now (or try to).
I messed around today and here's what I've came up with:
with the aux cable (standard 3.5mm headphone cable) you only have control of the tracks on the device, not with the radio's controls. you might be able to find cable with seek buttons built in (like some headphones) to make it easier but I've never actually seen one.
If your radio has a usb input on it you can connect your phone via usb, mount the sd card (as if using mass storage on a comp) and your radio should detect and read it as a flash drive. going this route your phone will charge, but you'll ONLY be able to control tracks from the radio head unit and you wont be able to listen to Slacker Radio or Pandora or other similar apps via usb. another plus is that the processing is done by the headunit, thus you could use your headunits random function.
The last option (that I think is king) is if you have a bluetooth enabled headunit, the HD2 can stream audio over bluetooth (a2dp) to your radio. You could then pair and stream music, Slacker, Pandora, etc and maintain control on the device (I would prefer control on device and radio, but i dont see this happening) wirelessly. One huge plus to me is that you can charge it while keeping fully functionality with only one cable.
I cant find a cable with anything other than volume controls, but I wonder if either of these options would help

I've been using a BT Venturi Mini for about a year now and it works perfect. You can change streamed track/ stop start and it has no wires.So no mess, best investment ever. Plus, you can pick up calls/ voicemail via car stereo too.
Sound quality excellent, especially when you increase BT pool bitrate via HD2 tweak.
Perhaps if someone modded the headphones that come with the HD2 so that they go from 3.5 to 3.5 with the controls in the middle of the wire to use ?
So I drive a 2010 Nissan Sentra, which has a built in iPod/iPhone hookup to control audio through the steering wheel or stereo (has access to artists/albums/playlists/etc). Now, up until a couple days ago I kept an old iPod filled with music in my center console where the hookup cable was located and was able to play music fine. That iPod has been stolen from my car... wonderful.
So my question is this: Is the Droid Razr capable of playing audio through the micro usb port? My options are that or Aux (which means i cant safely change music while driving), seeing as my car does not support Bluetooth audio, and the iPod cable => car is proprietary, not USB. In a nutshell, if you plug in via usb, AND the car supports this, its going to try to approach the razr as if it were a usb flash drive, and attempt to read the music FILES you have in there. Two points here- this is NOT a direct audio stream, and thus will not send through audio from any apps on the phone, ie pandora or nav. Your steering controls will work, if this mode happens to work. Also, some stereos support this mode, but have the limitation of only seeing the first drive available and ignoring the others. The razr has two storages and it seems to present the internal first. Because of this the radio sometimes cant see your files.
In my case, my radio would only read the "wrong" partition, where none of my files were. I would up buying a cheap flash drive and leaving that in the radio, while my phone is docked on the windshield with an aux line running in so i can get pandora, etc.

seeing as my car uses a proprietary port for iPod-in, not a USB port, your suggestions are not possible, but def appreciated. I wonder if the iPod 30pin ==> micro-USB will translate to reading the files off the phone as a mass storage in the manor you are suggesting. Thats going to require putting out some $ and downloading my files from the cloud, and then moving stuff around if its reading from the wrong location in the same way it was with your phone.

I've got sort of a detailed question, so bear with me as it may be a little TLR.
Basically, I'm thinking of putting a Nexus 7 in my car. I've heard that bluetooth quality is VERY hit or miss, so I'm looking to use the headphone output/line out adapter if I can find it.
Unfortunately, keeping my steering wheel controls is a must. I'm going to add a hidden head unit so I don't lose FM radio, CD capability, and all those other archaic things passengers may request. Just about all of them have bluetooth connections.
So, I'm looking for a bluetooth app that can receive a command from a connected device, and play/pause/forward/back a song, even if the audio is not being transmitted via bluetooth.
So (excusing the various adapters I buy), the chain would look like this:
Steering Wheel Control (Next Track) -> Head Unit connected via BT to tablet (audio coming in via headphone plug on N7) -> N7 App intercepts command -> Music app goes to next track.
This has to be possible, right?
