Hi Guys,
I was wondering if the Notification band around the bottom of the Xperia S can be halted from flashing notifications at me. I am aware there has been a question regards the Notification LED at the top of the handset but this is not what I mean.
There are times I would like to retain some privacy, like, the whole point of being able to put a phone on silent?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
d.
Do you mean the notification band below the keys? The transparent strip?
Does it blink/flash for notifications on your Xperia S?
How did you enable it? I have an european Xperia S and the notification does ONLY work with the notification Led on the top of the phone.
Yep, How did you enable it?
Mine only blinks when there is an incoming call (not for telling me I've missed call) and when I plug it into the charger, it blinks thrice. That's about it

It's the flashing when receiving an incoming call, I would like to be able to ignore calls while not showing the whole room I am doing so
I would like it if it were possible to have the transparent strip flash when either there is a missed call or email notification rather than the little led.
Anyone know if this is possible?

Discussed to death. Why do we have to repeat over and over and over and over again?
Post a link rather than being funny about it!
It's not my thread but just asked the question as it was kind if in line with what op was asking.

Agreed. One thing I dislike about this community is how ready people are to shout down mistakes. Either point to the existing discussion or STFU

if you mean the blue light by missed call- you can disable under settings/ notification&sound/ Notification/ EVENT/Phone:Missed call
Yeh i dont think it is possible. It only bleeps blue when you have a phone call/sms and thats all.
p.s - welcome to the forum

Well I've tried that before but to no success so any other ideas? Thanks for the help though
When do you get blue lights?
If it's with phone and sms - you might want to even untick the box with 'New text message' - it's at same place as for 'missed calls'..
If you don't mean blue, but green - it is 'sleep mode indicator' in settings.
Blue light as far as I know can be turned off totally - all you need to do is go through the whole drop down list and untick 'flash light' wherever applicable..
Thanks for the replys guys but managed to sort the problem myself, maybe not the best way possible but it certainly did the job.

will you share the solution please?
IS there an app that will flash the capacitive lights while the phone is locked when there is a received notification? I can never seem to notice the green notification light. If it isn't i think it would be a good idea for an application.

Did you try browsing goodandevo.net? They have posted a lot of useful scripts in the past (a lot of them link right back to xda). Just a thought
Hi all,
I've had a quick look and can't see any related threads with an answer, hence I made this one, apologies if I am wrong a simple yes / no will suffice. The transparent bar currently illuminates with calls and when initializing charging, is there any way to make it illuminate with texts and emails?
Thanks,
Ross
You can't see any threads??? There are a few. A simple search found this thread (there are more)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564653&highlight=led+bar+notification
I was looking under transparent bar and texts, not under notifications sorry. Delete thread if appropriate. That thread you posted is barely to do with the question at hand either, I'm not talking about the notification LED.
Unfortunately it doesnt illuminate with texts/emails or anything else for that matter. Only when you get calls. Im sure someone can mod it so that it lights up when you get a text
That's more of what I'm after, a modification that allows it to be done.
The code is already there as when I plug it in to charge, it illuminates the bar 3 times. Just need to mod this to be activated when a text or email is received, I didn't know if this had already been done or not.
yeah theres nothing out yet since we're lacking in developers. I'd love to develop but I don't know anything about coding haha
Hehe not for email please my battery would be gone then straight after I unplug it! !!!!!!

Then dont mod it ? I would like to have something like this as well

Whenever I receive new message/whatsapp/email/facebook/etc., my screen doesn't lights up to show me the notifications but it only makes the notification sound. Is there any way to turn on the screen when notification received?

It' s not an iPhone that's the reason why you have a notification light BTW it saves battery too. What a nonsense to turn the screen on each time you get a notification. Are iPhones still do that? I don't think that stock sense can do that.

Cool app and works similar to bitesms on iPhone jailbroken app. Only good thing though is the quick reply but imo the graphics on this make it look way out of date compared to the stock messenger. Only thing I don't like is when in your pocket you can accidentally hit reply and have issues if u know what I mean. Great alternative though for the few people that can't live without the screen turning on with a new text, lol. Personally I like it the way it is, does save some unneeded screen time and no possible way to case accidental responses. But if u just stare at ur device all day waiting for a text to appear, I can see the appeal, lol.
is there any other method to pop the screen?
i have been using the power button to pop the screen, is there any other alternative method?

Hi,
Is there a way to make your screen goes ON when you receive a message/sms? like when you have incoming calls? Cos my DX is always on Silent/Vibrate mode and i barely notice it with a led notification, I need to have this.
Thanks.
