Hi.
I just installed StockLite V6, it's pretty cool but havent seen much difference in battery life yet. So just in case xD i'm asking which custom rom consumes less battery and is less buggy.
Sorry for the english.

I thought you were trolling because of the rom name lol. Anywhore... so it says there that i need a clean stock rom... so i go to my cwm so i have to use odin right to put the full package of my stock rom.. Anothere question the date of publishing is today. How do you know is the less buggy xD? thanks for the answer btw.
How about Blackhawk rom by ketut.kumajaya?
It's based from stock rom and stable for me.

I'll give you an straight answer, something rare these days:
There are three types of ROMs around here: CM7-based ROMs, Stock-based ROMs and Chinese-and-the-like-based ROMs. Since CM7 isn't official for our device, it has been ported from other devices and development is not steady. Expect good performance but short battery life; even if you don't use it a lot. Stock-based ROMs last a little bit longer because they don't have the eye-candy CM7-based use, but nonetheless are less buggy than CM7-based ROMs. Chinese-and-the-like based ROMs can differ between one another but they are the new kid on the block as far as the rom making scene goes so we have to wait and see what happens with them.
In the end, there's one thing you need to keep in mind: smartphones are small computers and should be treated as such. Second, our battery isn't big enough to endure all the hardships we put it through. Third, there are good and bad roms out there, but only your own experience with these roms will help you, even more than this or any other comment by any other member of the forums. Just my two cents.
I understand... i was hoping that someone have done already a chart to compare the most common used custom roms.
I only use my galaxy to check facebook or mail, so it's weird that drains so fast. I just calibrated the battery so i'll wait a little before jumping to another custom rom based in stock.
The end 4.0...

If u only use ur galaxy phone to do this, i think that ur best choice is a stock rom.
Why?
An stock rom can give u 1200 quadrant points, and CM7 2000. CM7 gives u that points wasting ur battery.
If u only use ur mobilephone in order to check facebook or mails, stock roms can do it.
Other roms only give u more memory, in order to install more apps, but it will drains ur battery fast.
u can customize ur stock rom adding a new semi-transparent touchwiz, adding a hosts file in order to disable adds, changing ur icons, rooting...
try some stocks roms, 2.3.6 or 2.3.5
stock rom
I just tried the new illusion rom. Pretty laggy and the wifi is bugged. I think i'm sticking with StockLite V6 for while. Lucky me i did a backup with cwm and just restored it
Dude....its simple if u want to save battery...
Use stock rom, root it then use root explorer or any file manager with root access, go to system/app...delete all bloatware that u did not use there...
Dont use any script to boost your device as it will consume more battery just to make it fast...

I already tried that before using a stock rom. Battery lasts 12 hours at most. Not cool. Stock lite comes from stock (duh) so with the tweaks might be better and i just realized that it came with an app for cpu and now im using interactiveX governor
I used CM7.2 by FrozenAce Team for enough long time. Was fast, but consumed a lot battery. Then I started to switch ROMs again. Tried many ROMs from here and there but honestly, couldn't get any ROM enough fast like it. Then Official CM7.2 RC1 came out and flashed it. No battery backup to last even for whole day. But then I flashed zImage Kernel by Anonymous. Trust me, it gave me enough battery backup lasting the WHOLE day. My whole customisation is in my signature. Hope It'll help you.
Yes...same here, i use cm7 by fat (old version) with zimage kernel v1.5 (v1.0 also good)
Averyday i get 15-18hour withouttl charging, and with 3G always ON...

im not a fan of modded roms, im using stock rom 2.3.6 with

fast / remove some stock apps bloatware and thats it ...
battery lasts on 2g around 2 days tops ...
battery life either use stock or use CM7.2 official.
Yes cm 7.2 is official.
the unofficial ones well they tend to eat a lot of battery, but sadly it is what most roms are based on.

Hi. I installed the cyanogenmod 7 on my LG p500.I love it verymuch.but my battery is draining so heavily.is there any way to fix it,?

I used Juice Defender and it helps.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
undoubtedly either android 2.3.3 or cyanogen mod eats battery more than usual, in their official builds (nexus one for 2.3.3 / htc desire for cyanogen mod 7)
and you're prolly using unofficial builds and there might be more battery drain than usual.
you should have considered this and i dont think any of the developers didnt told you on their posts.
of course apps like juice defender or battery doctor etc. are good
but if you hate ur liberty being controlled by those dumb apps (i do), just control your data/wifi usage well, make suitable overclock profiles, or buy an extended battery physically.

yep, i had been reading that kind of comments about franco's rom.. i think i have to try it, all the ppl always say wonderful things about this rom and im really tempted to use =D
So here goes...
Well i realise this with every rom I use. Standby gives 1% per hour. I know not as good as most, but yea. However, with wifi on and browsing for 40 minutes, its already 8%. It aint really enough for me since I spend so much time here.

So far I used
- stock ROM: bad performance, batt - dont remember
- megatron with its kernel (2.2): absolutely best batt, 0-1% of battery drain per overnight (wifi off, data off, gps off); good performance; might be unstable
- LOL 1.4.2 with its own kernel mix (2.2.2): fair battery life and performance
-devoid and void with franco kernel (#14 it was then): not so much satisfied with batt. or performance in live or in quadrant test (sorry franco, i could not understand why it is so...)
- jince : very smooth ROM for everyday use; batt is little bit worsethat Megatron or LOL (5-9% overnight, all off; however ither reported better batt. life).
My choise for battery - Megatron v1 (with it's kernel)
PS. currently testing megatron ROM with Franco 18.1 kernel. Will post results.
Megatron rocks but its not as visually appealing.

You don't need any opinion but your own
Too subjective otherwise - no shortcuts, you've got to try them for yourself and see what you get.

does cognition still give that 'stock' look ?
Best battery life is subjective and based on usage, mostly linked to screen on time and usage of mobile data and wifi as long as you don't have rouge apps keeping the phone awake.
Your best best is to try a few of the roms from the dev section.
Personally I have found villian rom and ninphetamine kernel to be a great stock rom based combo and cm nightly to be good, but there are limitations!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
It's very subjective and I feel it depends more on the apps you have installed really. Having said that, I get really good battery life with villainrom lite + ninphetamine 2.01 kernel (pre-BLN)
Vallian rom +1
what's your screen on time on there?
3 h 14 min till now

I've been using lightning rom v5 since last yesterday, and phone was fully charged over night. However in terms of battery life is has been pretty crap for me. Hardly used the phone today and battery life is down to 43 percent already. Only made a few txts and received a couple of calls. Gonna be trying villianrom and cognition over the next few days. Hopefully I see a big difference.

Could you be any less specific?? There's a difference between battery life as in how long can a fully charged battery last, and how many years can you use a battery before it's trash. And the OP and you are clearly talking about a different "battery life".
The OP just wants to last longer with one charge cycle and flashing a ROM has no affect whatsoever on that duration. It will (or could) however affect the total life of your battery, because battery stats are wiped and the battery needs to "re-learn" itself. But that is like 1 month shorter on a total life of 4 years.....scary Like we will walk around with our S2's for 4 years
Speedmod kernal seems the best for me. T22

THREAD RULES: We DO NOT ask for ETA or release dates in this thread!
So it seems like everybody goes crazy when it comes to the porting of CM7. But why?
I got my hands on a SGS2 with CM7 installed. Tried it, experienced it a little. From what I experienced the CM7 wasnt something that special. I asked the owner of the phone what he though of the ROM. To my surprise he said "it's just a ROM". He also mentioned that the stock ROM was smoother.
So now I'm wondering, why all the fuzz? What are you expecting from CM7? What makes it so special and so popular?
I'm pretty sure that a lot of people who craves for the porting of CM7 has no clue of this.
(off topic: tbh, i'd rather prefer MIUI.)
edit: for the interface
My sister's Backflip has CyanogenMod 7 installed with 2.3.3 (Not even Froyo is released in Asia-Pacific regions) , it allows her to have OC/UV kernels from 600Mhz to 748Mhz . Her phone is wayyyyy less laggier than stock .(the difference is obviously obvious)
I'm not really good on those areas but arent you able to do that using SetCPU?
QNBT said:

he said using oc/uv.. his sister device only support 600mhz by default, but because she uses custom oc/uv kernel, she can achieve 748mhz with help of setcpu. it depends on clock stepping that were supported by kernel, not by setcpu. setcpu only help to configure those clock stepping
Oh, never knew about that. From my use of SGA 800mhz is doing alright.
And as I mentioned, not really good at those areas so I didnt even know that "oc/uv" was overclock and undervolt xD
Some bugs fixed are gonna be fixed in CM. Camera quality should be bit better. Theme engine is built into ROM, so there will be much more themes for SGA. Im also excited about haptic feedback (not sure about this one).
And much more...

MiUi is cyanogen based, if I'm not wrong.
First off I'm sure in cm there will be accurate battery reporting. No ****ty jumps in percentage.
Second, if CM is under way I believe developers will include uv, through kernels or modules. Overclocking though, may not be necessary.
Other than that the rom has so many tweaks. Over time and development CM will make our original firmware outmoded because it WILL get smoother.

Speed, stability, power, eyecandy, etc, etc.
But most of all; bugfixes and much more stability compared to stock firmware, as it is said that CM7 is build from the ground up so in my eyes it won't or even can't have the flaws that stock has.
Hey, it's only my opinion.
i think it`s only way to forget about SODs
Cyanogen is popular for a few reasons. It incoporates most worthwhile mods and runs normaly as well if not better than stock. Plus for me on a personal view it will help to get miui for sga.

hahaha..if you want to know..CM is a special ROM I guess, more unlock option on kernel than stock ROM, so I can say CM is a very customizing ROM.

CMIIW. sorry bad english
here I leave a list of roms to have an idea all the roms that have come thanks to the developers .. and teams: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439516
The best i've tested go to two categories:
Performance - Ace-Of-Spades V1 (I use this currently)
Battery - RAZRv3 (since it is CM7.1 based; to me it seems battery is even better than stock)
I have not seen bugs on either of those.
I myself cant use stock roms because they have all given my phone SOD... Official stock 2.3.5 gave me like 10 SOD per day (unless i turn off both wifi and bluetooth), custom stock based roms are way better but still SOD (with gingerreal v2 i had two SOD during 1 month). I've stoped trying stock based roms because of this...
But luckily CM7, CM9, AOSP, Lewa rom... none of them have this problem.

AOS does seen to have pretty good battery usage but none of the roms that i have tested lasted as long as RAZRv3. I left my phone in the office one weekend. When i left the phone had 32% battery.. I left on friday and came back on monday and the battery was 29% with wifi active (3g not active) and that 29% lasted for a whole day and when I got home after 8 hour workday i had 12% left and the battery stats showd that i had been on battery for 5days and 2 hours. Never ever have i gotten close to that on any of the roms i've tested.
I really dont know what makes RAZRv3 so good. I'd ask in the thread but i can't since i don't have 10 posts (can't post in developers). I think it has something to do with deep sleep mode, but can't be sure....

Try Nottratrix ROM, it's a GB custom ROM with optimizations and tweaks.
This thread is completely unnecessary, there are many others just like this one. Plus, you asked a question here and opened ANOTHER thread asking the same question? That's against XDA rules.
Both threads reported. You should really cool down on opening new threads.
Thread closed. Best/most stable ROM threads have no place as they're completely subjective and based purely on opinion. What's best for someone else is not guaranteed to be best for you as your needs will likely be different. Try them for yourself as then you'll learn at the same time as finding the best for you.
Thanks
