Ok I was flashing the aokp rom, I wiped everything. It wouldn't boot just stays on splash screen ..I reread the forum for aokp from and it said u need to have the latest recovery and I didn't ....I tried restoring from and that didn't help
sent from cm7 atrix 1.3ghz
That exact Thing happened to me.
Flashed aokp with old recovery and it was just sitting at the eepad Logo splash screen and i could still get it Into recovery.
You should Check if adb is working when your are in recovery.
So i treated mine as an Type 3 brick.
And transformed it into an Type 2 brick.
I am very sure i followed imstructions closely, but well you never know
My second idea was to replace cwm file in vipermod with the New one 5.8 and simply use the tool to Overwrite the old cwm - though adb is available in cwm it might work.
Second Option sadly doesnt work with my paperweight now

So what exactly do u recommend?

Can you boot into recovery? Try flashing a different rom?
Sent from my Droid Razr using Tapatalk
Yes but I only have the one from on my tablet
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Well my solution was to get a new TFP for now - the other one looks great as a paperweight!
1)
Look for the thread with "naked drivers". Download and install them as described in the thread. You will most likely need to get adb working when in CWM to fix it.
2) - my idea - I have no clue if it works!:
Vipermod flashes CWM through adb, maybe by replacing the old cwm blob-file with the new 5.8.2 it is possible to update you to CWM 5.8.2 without a running system.
Then - maybe - it might be possible pushing a ROM file to internal storage (i.e. Virtues ROM) and the flash that via CWM.
ASK other people who know more than I do, this is only a possibility I came up with after bricking my prime!
2a) give Un-Brick-3 option a go and see waht happens. Look in the unbrick thread and see if it has been working successfull. for me t wasnt good
I tried installing the naked drivers but I didn't work and I tried option three brick and no luck.....can I install the new recovery with fast boot then flash the rom I was trying to flash?

Well if you can get into recovery clockwork that is you need to get advanced working. I had to do it from my laptop because my desktop would not install the drivers correctly. Once you do that download another Tom and push it to you tablet.

This is what I have done to get the newer version of CWM like it says
Download the newest CWM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533697
Download fastboot http://androidroot.mobi/2012/02/22/introducing-cwm-for-asus-transformer-prime/ and stick the new cwm in that folder and rename the file form the first download tfp_CWM5_androidroot.blob (INCLUDING THE .IMG)
Next open CMD and cd into the directory with both the .blob and fastboot inside
Reboot prime holding power and vol down till white writing comes up then press nothing untill it has three icons on the screen now press vol down (NOT UP) once to be on the middle icon then vol up to select it (I had to pull the usb out and back in)
Once the bar has finished you can reboot now go into CWM and make sure the version is CWM v5.8.2.0+ now:
wipe data/factory reset in recovery
flash ROM
flash Gapps
reboot
It will boot
I will try this when I get back from church I I'll update u guys if it worked

i have recently unlocked my 3d via the htc method. I had viper rom and the stock kernel on the phone. I tried to install a new kernel(anthrax infected v9). I wiped the cache and the dalvik prior to installing the kernel, post install.zip the phone is in a continuous loop. Performed wipe of all data. Tried flashing rom and kernel again, it failed again. Asked a couple of friends what might be causing this. Found out my phone has hboot 1.5 that requires flash through fastboot. How do i fix this, please help.
Need to boot in recovery with ADB or GUI app
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Get into fastboot by taking out battery then [power+volume down] till it loads. Once there connect to computer and use adb and type "fastboot boot recovery.img" where recovery is the name of your chosen recovery. The recovery file must be in the same folder as the adb.
Once in recovery you can flash anything. Once you have booted a ROM I would recommend downloading flash image gui from the Market and use it to flash kernels or ROM with custom kernel. Good luck. hboot 1.50 makes things just a bit more trickier.
Recovery file could be any where you want "!

NOTE: If you took the latest 651.5 update, you have to stick with kernels that have that as a base (for now).
You are likely not flashing the kernel/rom correctly. See the Guide/flashing notes in my signature for a walkthru that will likely help.
I have a similar situation. Had viper rom up and running and then it just up and quit and now it's in a continual boot loop. I'm no where near a windows CPU that I can use fastboot for the next 40 days. How can i fix with my tablet?

I cant get into download mode though it just loops into recovery everytime I reboot
Ive fixed it!!!!
all you have to do ist navigate to the platform tools folder of the android sdk in cmd and type adb reboot download and flash a rom!!! FINALLY FIXED IT AFTER 2 WEEKS
A USB jig will put it into download mode as well, and costs $2. This would work even if you did not have android debugging enabled

im wanting the slick rom JB and I cant find the post listing how....i found the where...
1.not the how?
2.Is "installing a custom firmware" the same as the ROM?
3.if No to question 2, whats the difference?
ok ima try to break this down for ya
1. Make sure you are rooted and have an unlocked bootloader, if not got to this thread and follow instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006946
2. Once you have completed step 1, confirm that you have either cwm(clockworkmod) or TWRP(team win recovery project)
2a. Once recovery presence is confirmed, enter the recovery through the bootloader
2b. To enter the bootloader, while the phone is off hold the power button and the volume up button until the lg logo come on the
screen release once the bootloader loads, press the down volume button twice and then press the power button and then the
recovery will load.
2c. (for a quicker way download the quickboot app from the playstore and select recover from the in app menu)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&hl=en
3. Once in the recovery, you'll need to wipe the cache and the dalvik cache, as well as factory reset the phone(recommended to do so) before flashing the ROM(custom firmware)
3a. Navigate either CWM or TWRP until you get to the install zip directories for each recovery, and then navigate the provided file
browser until you find the file you are flashing, once selected follow the on-screen prompts until the file has been sucessfully
flashed.
4. Reboot your device
5. PROFIT!!!!!!!!!

You screen doesn't work but you want to try out roms? Not sure I understand but...install CWM. The touch version still allows you to use the volume buttons and power button. To install CWM download the zip, place on SD card, then use a flashing app (such as Goo Manager, Rom toolbox) to automatically reboot and flash CWM. Then you should have no problem.

I figured you where trying to goto stock foot repair..... you can use cwm with the volume rockers to navigate n power to enter. I've never tried with twrp. Recovery n kernel can be flashed in fastboot a ROM can be flashed in fastboot to but t needs to be a system.img

I've got my boot loader unlocked. I'm rooted on v10g. I have cwm and I was wondering if I could just flash the zip file with cwm.
I think you have to make sure you have the right recovery to flash with. If I'm not mistaken I did flash with the cmw for locked bootloaders but to be safe I'll say to find the right one that is for unlocked bootloaders. I'm using CMW touch for unlocked bootloaders. Make sure you do a factory reset. It might not be necessary but I run a factory reset, I wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing a ROM. Also, make sure you backup your stock ROM before flashing another.

Everytime I issue the unlock command to try and get in fastboot mode it just restarts my phone.

Yes, exactly, but use the "Nandroid Manager ROOT" to flash recovery and then do a full wipe + format system before flashing CM10.1
You can of course then flash Gapps as well.
carloswii5 said:
If you want to install the cm10 rom the optimus L9 has as of right now you
have to do the following
1) Go to the app store and search for the app called "Nandroid Manager ROOT"
download the app and open it then go to flash recovery you must first put the recovery from the downloaded file to the
root of you external sd card and then go to the app and search for the recovery and flash it.
After you flash it you will have a recovery on your phone
(just to let you know it will be mirrored) but to boot to recovery you must turn off the phone
and then hold the "Volume UP + Home Button + Power Button"
now go download the cm10 rom from here " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2216542 " put the file to the root of your sd card and then reboot to recovery and then to flash you will need to "wipe system, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache then flash" after you flash the zip reboot and you will have CM10 Hope This helped
