Transformer Prime runs warm? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I just got home earlier tonight with a new Transformer Prime. I've found that the back of the tablet runs kind of warm. It is not worryingly hot at all, but noticeably warm. Is this normal?
Thanks!

if you doing something very intensive, like heavy duty games its normal. it doesn't get 116 degrees F hot like new Ipad though..lmfao

Mine in system panel runs around 27c with a movie playing, and yes it is warm but nothing to worry about.... you can always monitor the temp in system panel (paid app but worth it).....temperature isn't really an issue with the TF201.... as a comparison...my galaxy phone can easily run at 38c

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Glad the warmth is normal. It is primarily on the top of the tablet, along the edge with the cameras. But agreed, I definitely would not call it 'hot'.

When running Navigiation on my Desire HD in my car on the dash, I could easily fry eggs on it after a long drive on sunny day.
Ok, not quite, but it is too hot to even put in my pocket, even uncomfortable to touch.

Naturally, when left in my car it gets warm... but out of regular usage? Never. Even playing graphic intensive games this thing doesn't ever warm up for me.

I've had it get warm, nothing alarming or anything. Now my phone, that's a different story... Got this baby up to 140 once lol. It hasn't gotten that hot in a long time though.
But yeah, the Primes temp isn't anything worth being concerned about at all.

Do you mind explaining how you fit your transformer prime in your pocket in the first place?

[Q] overheating

Hi All,
Just purchased a brand new tab and the body tends to get overly warm in more than one place. Even during simple surfing with no flash videos, it gets really warm/hot.
Not really sure if I should be worried since my ipad 2 is always cool or luke warm and I find the specs to be similar.
Is this normal?

It gets a little warm on mine in one little spot, but definitely not overly warm. Even when I overclock it doesn't get too warm.

Touch screen and cold weather

Does anyone else have issues with their screen acting crazy if your phone gets cold? When I am working outside I cannot even use my phone until I jump in the van and hold my phone over the heater for a minute.
I had an Evo 4g last year and don't remember having this issue.
Thanks 7
Occasionally I will notice the screen responding a little slowly in the cold. This doesn't seem to be a touch issue. Seems more like the screen is cold and it takes time for the graphics to change due to the cold. Are you noticing issues with touch functionality???

That can happen due to it being cold and your hands being hot will cause a humid like mist on the glass which will make it slow or laggy till you wipe it down.
Mine actually starts with phantom presses. I can't even answer a phone call sometimes.

I can get mine to do that. If I am outside in the cold or if I just washed my hands and go to use the phone as soon as it gets some humid or moisture on the screen it from slightly humid or wet fingers will go all funky and random things will happen. Lag or it will jump on to all over the place then hang wipe it down and your good to go.
If the glass is cold and your hands are warm it can do the same thing.
I just thought of a way to make money. A special phone pouch that attaches to your drawers. That way it keeps your phone warm, close to your junk, plus makes you look massive. It's a win-win.

Where would you plug it in to keep the heat? And, being close to your junk isn't the best idea. Read about cell phones and sperm counts.

I dunno about you, but my junk stays warm on its own. Thus it's a great great source. Plus, with 4 kids...I'm pretty sure I'm done.

Zenonia 4

Zenonia 4 is out with much improved graphics from 1-3
Its free and plays better then previous ones
http://goo.gl/wwJaV
game isnt the cause for the reboot, its thanks to the .14 firmware
idunno, gameplay is kind of annoying for me, ranged attacks mean you have to be lined up with the mob your attacking... items that fall on the ground dissapear too soon IMO, overall i dont think im going to be putting a lot of time into this game.
I played the 2nd one way back when I had a crappy phone with a small screen and I wished I had a better device. I was looking forward to playing this new one on the Prime, so I checked it out. First time I died I saw the screen where you can either lose gold, xp, equipment durability to revive or pay for some cash item...
NOPE.
uninstalled.
Great graphics and the gameplay speed is awesome, but the battle controls are annoying. I keep accidentally hitting the home icon trying to run downwards.

I've been playing it on my DX for convenience. The death system is the same as in Zenonia 3, and it isn't a huge problem, although it's a bit annoying. You can get by without paying anything for the game, but I ended up putting a bit down to make my bags bigger. Worthwhile in my mind for a well made game I"ll probably replay at some point.

First thoughts on android and one x + (From iphone 4)

I bit the bullet and bought a one+ plus today.
I can say that so far I like it, however a few things I don't.
Phone gets hot (inside an otterbox)
Speakerphone is lously (might swap for s3)
Did I mention it get's hot?
only ~200mb of RAM available when not using much
beats audio/aux output
The audio and speaker are a big deal as I use speaker 90% of the time when talking (put it on dashboard and drive).
I love

It could very well be a certain app running, not to mention its a quad core CPU lol so its gonna be hot!! Dude screw the iPhone droid is where its at! I have a gnexus and its amazing! Samsung S3 is nice but you CANNOT go wrong with a Google phone. Welcome to android

It gets warm because it is a quadcore, plus when installing a bunch of things on the phone it will heat up. The memory is nothing to worry about, Android handles memory differently than most OSes. On my One X+ the speaker is pretty loud, it could be your case muffling it.

Android uses ram in a totally different way to windows and ios. Android is designed to think as unused ram as useless ram, And it will manage background processes on it's own. A google search will provide more information on how android uses ram.

Good excuse to get a new car..with BT connex so you don't have the fone sliding all over the dashboard anymore..which, in fact, makes the Otterbox obsolete!
My loudspeaker is really fine, volume is great. For Music..use a third party player like PowerAMP...and ditch the beats setting. The difference is positively amazing!

I played with one in store and when playing games on it, the phone most certainly does. It's hard not too when it is a quad core, nothing wrong with it either.

Most likely going to return it I really loved the features

What exactly are you doing when it's heating up?
The only time mine gets hot (after initial setup) is when I'm charging and using it at the same time. My One XL did the same thing. Other than that, no issues here.

yeah, charging is the only time that i notice that mine gets hot. i too have an otterbox (defender) and i use it pretty steadily throughout the day and have no issues of overheating.

Mate your not ment to use your otterbox 24/7. I have one for my HOX+. I put it on when I go out, to protect my phone. But I take it off when i'm at home. If I drop it on carpet... so what. Look at it like this. Would you put a big box with no ventilation round your PC while you play black ops 2. Then moan at asus because you CPU melted your mobo?

Yea it is either the otter box or you have an app on that is eating up your processor. Mine gets warm on occasion but not hot and I don't have a case on it.

In this game my device heated up the most
its because of the gun fire!

Some people here lack common sense....Of course its going to get hot.....even hotter inside that otterbox cover! Theres nowhere for the heat to dissipate to!

One question on bluetooth phoning: Am I the only one with the problem that when I enter my car, leave the phone in my pocket (why should I take it out?), dial via my car's quick button that the phone/Android unlocks in my pocket?? Had the same problem with my DHD... Is there no way to learn my phone to leave the screen off&locked when dialed via BT?
thanks + regards

Heating in general?

I heard that sometimes 4K makes the phone overheat but what about under general usage?
My Z gets quite hot after web browsing n stuff and my back panel has lifted near the camera... IDK if the Z1 had this problem or not but i dont want to suck again for a serious problem like this.

Well , what ive noticed so far is when you use the camera it heats up. Even when your just taking pictures, once you use it for a bit it heats up then tells you to close the camera app.

@ SkyS1gn - It is definitely warm, but I wouldn't say it was hot. It also cools down very quickly when you stop what you were doing.

Thanks, i hope sony taught from their fault and the Z2 wont suffer from bakpanel-lifting issue!
for the record my galaxy note (no z2 until tomorrow) gets quite warm when i use it for browsing, gaming etc....... my galaxy s before that got quite warm also..... come to think of it my sisters s4 n her fellas moto razr x get quite warm when they're fiddling with them....... i would be more concerned if i bought a new phone and it didnt heat up during use.
Having said that tho, the back lifting definately doesnt sound right, pix?
Edit, sorry thought you was talking bout a z2

Nope its an issue with the Z, idk about the Z1 or Z2 but Z2 hasnt got that plastic strap around the edge of the back like the Z1, Z2 is more like the Z, just the edge and the glass, thats why some pll see gaps...
But im 99.8% sure they fixed the glue with the Z1 and the Z2. Z's nfc springs are a little bit higher than it should be so its constantly pressing the back panel away + considering the heat = made the back panel to lift a bit around the cam area. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/discussionxperia-z-glass-coming-unglued-t2304680
I've been using the z2 for about 2 weeks, I personally find that it gets warm rather quickly. However most people (especially fanboys) would just say that all phones get hot or ridiculous stuff like you can use water to cool the phone since its waterproof. The phone gets rather warm in a few minutes even when you're just browsing, messaging or meddling with the settings. Playing graphics intensive games drive the temperature up really high, to a point that it is hot to touch. I understand that the phone is packed with awesome hardwares and that huge screen in such a slim body, which are probably why temperature gets so high. But when I use the HTC M8 or Iphone 5s for similar activities, they just dont get as hot, and definitely not as fast. However as mentioned, it cools down as pretty quickly too. I feel that this is something Sony can definitely do better in.

I think "hotness" is subjectif. What is hot for you might be normal for me.
When can we speak of overheating in degrees?
Mine gets only up to 31 degree by browsing, games or camera. And not very quick too. And don't forget that iPhone hasn't got very powerful hardware. But we got just up to 23 degree in spring. Where do you live?

It does get hot very easily, thats one of the first things I noticed about this phone. But I have yet to experience any issues as a result of it, so in all I wouldnt say its really a problem you should worry about.
