Hey guys,
New Folio 100 user here (not completely new to Android tho...).
I just bought a used Folio 100, with CM9 A4 on it.
All went fine for a day, when suddenly I noticed that the tablet lost it's charging.
I mean...it's not charging the battery no matter if I plug it in using the TV-kit, or directly, whether it's powered on, or not.
Anyway...I want to get it to service repairs for a check, but first I would like to restore it's original ROM.
I acquired the stock ROM (from FolioMod 1.4 OP), and tried to install update from 5.5.0.4 cwm recovery. Although it seems OK, no errors, etc, when I try to boot up, ICS loads.
How can I restore my Folio to the stock ROM?
Thanks for help,
Best,
CHROMED7
Ok...solved the problem.
With fastboot commands I manually installed the stock recovery, then from recovery, installed the stock rom.
Looks OK now (apart from not charging), ready for service repairs!

Hello all,
Some time ago, i decided to try and root and put in a custom rom on my htc hero, i followed a guide from this forum and it worked, no problems what so ever.
i flashed the floyo 1.something rom, and had it on there for a few days, maybe a week then one day after work i forgot to charge the phone so it ran out of power.
when i hooked it up to the the usb for charging and turned the phone on, it said Safe Mode in the lower left corner. i was kinda like 'what'?
so i did some searching and found out it might have entered safe mode cause of one of the buttons being held down while i was powering it on, so i tried turning it off and on, and not holding and holding differnet buttons, and eventually i got it out of safe mode, not allways with the same key combo, but then i noticed it starting have a bad battery life, about 10 hours on a full charge.
so i found a guide and put stock rom on it, and everything worked again, good battery life etc, and i did the ota, and got back to how it was before i started playing with custom roms.
i had it running for a few days like that, and decided to try the villain rom, i got recovery flashed, the rom flashed, and boom it was in safe mode again.
i was like even more 'what!?'
and the bad battery life was back too, so i tried some stuff, tried another rom, same deal, tried going back to stock rom, using the ruu files i find on here, and from then things went really wierd.
went back to stock rom, everything seemed to work, did the ota, to get newest upgrades, and in stock rom with ota updates the safe mode returned, i couldnt suddenly install apps from the market, or anything. i used to be able to do that in safe mode in the custom roms.
after a few days of trying stuff, i was finally able to get the recovery flashed, and villainrom back on there, cause i like that one the best, but the safe mode persists, and no matter what i try i cant get the safe mode to go away.
i did alot of searching on the web, and different forums and on this forum, but i cant find any clues to how i can fix this.
only time i can get it out of safe mode, and run normally
is if i apply this
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_1.76.405.1_R3_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
any help would be greatly appreciated.
ps. yes i dont really know what i am doing.
i've read almost every single post related on this subject, tried almost everything but no go.
recently, i installed SS-6 to my girlfriend's Vibrant but she didn't like it, so i attempted to revert to my nandroid from the original stock rom.. nandroid gave an MD5 error and did not installed.
at that point, i had already wiped data/cache, prior to nandroid.
i rebooted the phone, and now im stuck on the Vibrant splash.
i have tried to go to recovery mode via hard buttons but no go. i actually tested with another Vibrant and on that one, im able to get into recovery so it is not that i'm missing pressing a button or what not. been trying anxiously to see if im able to go either to download mode or get into cwm and flash cyanogenmod!
tried to use ODIN/ADB in order to boot into cwm to flash another rom, but it doesn't see the phone. ive already installed samsung drivers.
if i connect the charger, the battery indicator doesnt come up. it stays on that lined-circle screen forever, even after taking the USB cable out.
please help!
EDIT: added [Q] and added some more grammar errors.
any help is highly appreciated.
I had this same problem... The only thing that would fix it was this thing I had to buy called a Jig. It was less than $8 (with free shipping) on eBay.

It delivered in 2 days and my phone is working perfectly now
just ordered one!
thanks!
one more thing, are you able to just install a different ROM through ODIN or ADB without having to do the full wipe? im wanting to save the contents of the internal SD.
thanks again
Help Please...I really need some now.
I had my phone unlocked and everything was fine. I have been updating the resurrection remix roms and enjoying them a lot. I was up to ver. 1.7. The problem is that I had some of the screen issues (fine horizontal lines on the screen) and I decided to get the phone repaired. I just got the phone back today and I noticed that Bell repair shop had wiped everything off my phone and put their stock version of ics on and the phone was no longer rooted. I have been trying to root the phone a few times now through Odin (like I did half a year ago) and at first it failed due to not being able to open the serial port. I opened Kies and the phone connected so I knew the drivers were ok. I tried Odin again and this time it went through and gave me a pass......but on reboot, it just hangs on the Samsung screen and I cannot turn the phone on at all now. I either am stuck on this screen or the CWM screen, but it won't carry out any command ie. power off, open zip from scard etc. I really need some help and quite worried about the phone now.
Please, please help
you allowed usb debugging?, go back to download mode and flash a kernel with root.
Go to download mode and flash a stock kernel. If you are unable to get into download mode because you said that your phone wont accept any commands for example pressing buttons then you could buy an USB jig. This will bring you directly to download mode. That would propably be your last chance.
Then flash a stock kernel back on there. Maybe the exact same which was on there before. Or just flash a stock full ICS Rom.

Yahoo!! I finally got the thing unstuck. I tried the Odin procedure again but this time I downloaded a more updated root kernel. It passed, then on bootup it wasn't stuck in space......although it still did not boot up properly. It ended up going just black...with no screen whatsoever. But the CMW program was working though and I was able to do a system restore from a month ago. I was very happy and very lucky I made that backup. Now, not only do I make the Titanium backup, but I also do a backup from the CMW program.....because now I know it's possible to freeze up before I ever get a chance to use Titanium. A good lesson indeed.
I really hope someone can help. I have had my HTC One about a month, unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, installed TWRP, made a nandroid backup, and flashed Android Revolution HD 11. I recently dirty flashed the newest ARHD, 12.1, and since then I can only charge my phone if it is powered off, and then only if fast boot mode is turned off. I tried to flash to my nandroid, but the file seems to be corrupted. I flashed back to my ARHD 11 backup, and that worked but I still cannot charge while the phone is on. I am currently downloading a nandroid from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860
I'm going to try to flash this and see if it works. Until then, does anybody have any ideas on what the problem is? Also, can somebody provide a link to a walkthrough on getting this phone back to complete stock (unrooted, locked bootloader, etc) in case I need to return it? Thanks in advance...
EDIT: I just found a link to this video which I'm going to try also if the nandroid doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_KBYx0xuAs&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Phone won't connect to PC either...
So the video I linked to didn't work because my computer won't recognize the phone. I tried reinstalling the HTC drivers, and still nothing. I also found this seemingly great tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242635
...which didn't work for me because of the problem of my computer not recognizing my phone. I really hope there is either a fix for this issue, or a way to lock the bootloader again without connecting it to a computer so that I can return this phone and get a new one...
Bump for help...
I bought a Lg f6 Metro PCS version a few weeks ago. I rooted it with Kingo Root, flashed the freedom kernel on it, created an adb with my laptop, Titanium backup, ROM installer, ROM Light, SuperSu, etc. Created a permanent Clockwork recovery and had also flashed the Experion custom rom on it. Up until then the phone was running great no problems. Tuesday night I tried to upgrade to a different version of Android the phone has 4.1.2 on it. I downloaded 5 zip files from the internet. Transfered them to the external sdcard flashed the first one it was fine. Then I flashed a radio zip and the phone went into reboot mode. The phone became soft bricked stayed at the LG icon nothing else. I then flashed the Experion custom rom again and the phone rebooted and came out of soft brick mode. Booted the rom back into normal mode. Here is the issue I lost stock rom on the phone, baseline is unknown now, and the phone's identity imei and everything else that comes up on the screen in the settings menu is blank. Other things were lost like keyboard and the dialer pad, phone is working but I think it might be bugged some way. Is there a way the original Android rom can be put back on the phone and all the above mentioned things be restored. I have already bought a new phone. I want to see if I can fix it before I decide to just scrap it. Are there any shops or professional services that specialize in Android software recovery/programing.
P.s I have tried flashing every stock rom, kdz, and the such on my own no such luck the little Android icon on custom recovery just goes into error state.
Thanks!
