SGII uninstall apps when booted - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated my android 2.3.4 to ICS 4.03, restored all the apps with titanium backup. For some reason some apps are being uninstalled after I boot the phone. They work just fine when I install them, but when I turned the device off and then turn back on their icons are grey androids and I cant run them. Dont know what to do.
Till now I had problems with: Pocketcloud, Plants vs Zombies, Airattack HD, Galaxy Wars and Fieldrunners. The last one I didnt restored, it is a new app that I downloaded it.
I own a SGII I9100
CF root
kernel 3.0.15
baseband: I9100XXLPQ
Please help

Can't remove Assasin's Creed demo via Titanium

I'm trying to uninstall Assasin's creed demo via titanium. however every time i click uninstall it comes back again after I exit.
Is there a way I can get rid of it for good?
Woo-hoo! First post here, I think. (I joined back in 2009 for who-knows-what now...)
Anyway - WOW - same problem. I found the info about using Titanium Backup to remove system apps and it worked as expected for everything *except* this Assassin's Creed. Even the TB exploit/reboot method didn't work. Anyone know of another solution?
Have E10a stock SE 2.1-update1, 2.1.1.A.0.6, has been rooted, of course.
Thanks!

[Kernel][Froyo][1.2.0 only] Fix For Market Installation Error

*ALL THE USUAL DISCLAIMERS AND WARNINGS*
*This is for the nook color version 1.2.0 only, don’t try on any other version or device*
What it does:
This kernel should fix the “installation error unknown reason-18” error that currently keeps apps from properly installing from the Android or Amazon markets, such as Angry Birds and Airport Mania.
This kernel will also allow you to install apps to your SD card and back to your NC from within app manager. The kernel is 100% stock, except for what it took to fix this problem, stock volts and clock.
Known Problems:
None of yet. I just finished building the kernel, but have been able to install around 75 apps, 20 of them had experienced the “unknown reason-18” error before I installed the kernel. I was able to move apps back and forth from the SD card without any problems.
Consider this to be in the beta stage.
How to Use:
1. Download the attached file *MD5 4c188079b543f7e5823379461b35e753 *
2. Place the file “Nook_Kernel_Fix-signed.zip” onto your SD card
3. Install the zip with ClockworkMod Recovery
4. Report any problems that you have related to this
If you use this kernel in your own work, please just give me credit for the work that I did.
reserved for future use
now if we could get this fix for the 1.1ghz overclock kernel i'd be a happy camper.

If it passes the test for about two weeks, then I will release the code for all developers so that we can make that happen for you. I just did not want anything to come between testing the core function of the kernel fix.
Can someone post a list of problematic apps? I'd be happy to test it out but I haven't had any problems since Angry Birds.

The ones I always had this issue with were the 3 different flavors of Angry Birds and also Aldiko. I assume it happens with any app that defaults to install on the SD card, which are probably mainly games or other large apps.
Which version of market does this work with? Any chance it gets the 2.xx versions to work with 1.2?

This will work with any version of the market. This is more of a single system fix, not just market.
The official Google Froyo release was designed with A2SD (Apps2sd). Google did it this way to help protect apps from things like piracy. B&N decided they did not want to include this option into their release. I have added the needed information into the kernel to allow A2SD to work. This fix allows you to now move apps back and forth from the SD card using the app manager option in nook tools.
I had this problem with my wife's NC Sunday and I think these are the apps I had trouble with:
Tank Recon 3D (Lite)
Aldiko Book Reader
RuniK
Angry Birds
Angry Birds Seasons
Angry Birds Rio
Air Control Lite (I think)
Airport Mania Free (I think)
I applied the patch, uninstalled Tank Recon 3D Lite, and reinstalled. The reinstall was successful.
Any app that's over 15MBs will cause Unknown Error -18 I'm looking forward to see if this is stable, if so I'd love to see it in a future release of MN
Paradise Island is one such app.
Well my nook running BN1.2 and MN and DL's 1.2 OC kernel has no problem loading any of the above apps, to be exact any regardless size app.
If anyone needs the process let me know ..

How'd you get it to install without the Nook Boot looping?
Yep and its actually not that difficult.
I just used Titanium backup to unistall the 10.1 version and appstrore to install the 10.3 version as it didn't come up in normal market.
Pavlos
Actually the first time it boot looped but I let it cycle once the second time it went through and had no issues since then.
Of course I can also install angry birds and other apps directly from market or titanium without issue so I am not sure if that has any effect.
Pavlos
Actually did some more testing and it apears that angry birds are installed on the SD and actually was able to move apps to SD.

Yea this Kernel according to the original post fixes Apps2SD which in effect fixes the Unknown Reason -18 issue.

I am having a "mental fog" day today, so could someone tell me if this is for rooted or unrooted NCs? I am assuming rooted?
Yep that's for the rooted BN1.2 froyo.
Pavlos
Well on my nook, I could not install any of the angry birds. I tried installing without the sd card and it would still fail. So far this kernel has fixed all of my install issues.

[Q] Market Error: Error processing purchase

First off.
Galaxy Tab 10.1
OTA update 3.1 with TouchWiz UX. Rooted with no custom ROM. I previously had Starburst ROM with 1.4GHz kernel but experienced some issues so I unrooted my Tab, completely wiped everything, and started fresh. I re-rooted my Tab and restored about 20 games/[
PHP:
PH using Titanium Pro.
I experienced this issue before but it was just with certain apps. About 2 or 3 I know of. Now I'm having this problem again, except with all apps that have never been previously installed. For example, lets say I've never installed Angry Birds. If I tried to download it now I would get the error: Purchase cancelled. Error processing purchase. Followed by two options, Retry/Cancel. If I click retry its an endless cycle of trying to download. However, if I've downloaded Fruit Ninja before, I'd be able to download again with no problems.
If any other information is needed please let me know. Not sure what else I could provide.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Decided to post here before I go through the hassle of Samsung and/or Google's customer support.
Any help appreciated
I had this before, I had to remove my Google account from the device in Accounts and Sync, reboot my device and add the account again!
Sent from my Amiga 500 using Workbench
I tried this and am still getting the same error
Same Problem here. It happen after installing BroodComb XXKI1 V2 on my 3G P7500 EUR Tab.
Tried everything without sucess. It works with other rom's but not with this one, even if i try to install FREE apps.
Probably it's reletad to the resore with titanium backup.
Strange, when you try to install the app with the web version of marked, noting happen, but after a few time app can normally be installed with on market on device.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] Market issue

I need a bit of help,
for some reason my market app won't allow me to update Kies Air(plus other apps like ROM Toolbox).
When I search for the app, and the list of apps appear it says update, I click into the app, and it comes up with "Your device isn't compatible with this item", I know it's not the LCD density thing, as i've changed that and it still came up with the error. I've cleared the market cache and data.
I'm using:
Version - 2.3.5
Baseband - I9100XXK14
Kernel - 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #K2-21
Build number - GINGERBREAD.XWKJ1
The apps appear in the market correctly, i.e. SkySports News(which is a UK only based app) is appearing there, so I don't think it's anything to do with the regional settings of the build i'm using.
Can anyone help? Confusing the life out of me.
I've used Market Enabler, to no avail...changed it from O2 UK to USA(AT&T) and also tried the sprint network.
Is it something to do with my baseband? I don't mind attempting to flash another baseband on there, just need to know which one, how, and if it can be done through CWM? I can do it on odin, just will have to do it tomorrow on my own laptop at work.
just use another app kies is crap?!?! uninstall reinstall not work?
It's not just Kies though, ROM Toolbox is doing the same thing, and I am pretty sure I will get the same issue with other apps that I come across in the future.
Simply saying use another app, isn't exactly practical.
So only those two apps won't update ?? but others will?
Simply saying use another app, isn't exactly practical. - it is if other apps do the same job better?!
Clear data + cache for market apps... if that doesn't work just wait... sometimes apps won't update for a day or two and then will start working
Quite a few apps won't update, or even allow me to install them.
I just searched for the Kindle app on the market, I still get "Your device isn't compatible with this item".
I've cleared the data and cache, still doesn't work...
I am guessing more apps will display this issue as I search/want them...
So I may have fixed this, the density of my device was 235dpi and I read somewhere that the default density is 240dpi
So I've gone in and changed it with an app, and the market works now. I'll let you know if I have any more problems.
The only thing I can think of that changed this, is I installed Siyah kernel a few days ago, to try it, went back to speedmod as I prefered the original CWM rather than the tweaked version that Siyah gives out.
Anyway, it's working for now...
good luck

Apps not starting on startup in Android 4.2.2

Hi everyone,
This is not a question for my cellphone but for my ebook reader running Android 4.2.2 (rooted). I recently updated my Onyx Reader C67ML Carta2 to the latest firmware, 1.8.2. It works fine but the apps that should be running on startup are not doing it anymore. I have to start them manually everytime. I was using them for battery saving and were working pretty well (Greenify, No-frills, BootManager, Barshortcuts...) I have tried to flash again firmware 1.8.1 and update to 1.8.2 but it didn't change anything. I also tried to move these apps to system/app or downloaded a few apps (Startup, Autostart,Tasker...) to automatically start them on boot but with the same result.
Any suggestions? I really want these apps to open on startup and keep the newest firmware that has some new cool features.
I guess it's a bug in the latest firmware.
