I have searched this forum an it seems like most of the links are old and no longer work
Does anyone have a ODIN flashable .tar file with root?

Just throw in a cwm recovery bin into the tar and then flash the superuser zip

You flash the .tar via PDA. Don't open the .tar file.

i wouldnt expect it to be zip.tar more likely tar.zip if so
you can extract the zip file, input any passwords and it should leave you with a .tar file.
you then flash the .tar file using odin on the pda option, without changing any other options. It includes the files you talked about before but as an all in one package. So only the one file is required.
I think the problem is that your file is not from here so I really cannot say what the problem is. I don't use zip format and none of the firmware archives are password protected, just the kernel archives.

[Q] new and rooted.

i'm just wondering how i go about flashing this rom, it says unrar the rar file but i don't know how to do that. if anyone could shed light on this that would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Use winrar or alike to extract the zip file in the archive. Lite'ning rom must be flashed through odin. So you don't need to pre-root your phone or anything. Simply flash through odin. Lite'ning rom cannot be flashed by cwm according to the author.

i know i downloaded the file and winrar came up do you know what the file will end in once it's extracted or once i ''unrar'' it? i honestly would love help with this.
can anyone please help me with this?
any help would be appreciated.
According to the screenshots it'll end up as .tar.md5 once you extract the rar.
Probably .tar

I really wonder why you cant just download the file and unrar it. Its a bit too much to ask for someone to do that for you.

[Q] zFile?

hey guys, i'm following this guide. http://www.techcredo.com/android/how-to-root-the-samsung-galaxy-s2-tutorial
When it says download the respective CF-root file, mine is KJ1, it should be a .tar file after extraction. All i get from the file after using winrar to extract is a file called "zfile". and it's not even a .tar file, just a .file file. Can anyone help me or attach the 4.4/5.0 KJ1 .tar file or send me the .tar file through my email or something? thanks alot
Flash the file that contained the zfile.

[Q] ROM.zip to Flashable Odin.tar?

Hello Guy´s
Iam from Germany, i love the ROM Community from XDA an Android-Hilfe.de !
Your work is great!
So here is my Question: Is it possible to Convert a ROM.zip to a Odin.tar ?
Thank you so much for your help!
Usually No.
But there is some guide somewhere to make odin flashable rom. Search it on google
Why do you want that?

I was wondering the same. I can see the use of converting a .tar to .zip so you can flash a stock rom from recovery, but not the other way round;" Mobile Odin Pro is only useful if you can boot up the phone", and flashing a .zip from recovery is much safer than using a USB, PC and Odin.

its a fairly common noob question .
