Telus root without tripping flash counter? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Hi there
First smartphone - have a Touchpad running CM9 so I'm not a total Android newb but I'm having a heck of a time navigating through all this talk of kernels/adb/flash counters/odin/etc. etc.
My question is pretty simple - is there a way to root my Telus Samsung Galaxy Note LTE I717 so I can get CWM/SauROM/both on it WITHOUT tripping the flash counter?
AFAIK, the threads in the Android Dev forums lead me to belive that's possible for the AT&T version, but there are no hacked Telus/Rogers/Bell system.img files to flash with Odin - only the AT&T one.
But then I'm confused, as the kernel flash by Da_G that does increase your flash counter is not differentiated at all by carrier, and it apparently works for all carriers.
Am I missing something?

[Q] Root help

I tried rooting my Galaxy S3 using Odin3 v1.85 with CF Root- SGS3 -v6.3 but was unsuccesful. I thought i bricked my phone but was able to flash with boot-stock sprint-SPH-l710 to get it back to a useable condition.
I tried to root it again using the same method but i keep getting ths same result and i keep having to flash it with the sprint file.
When i put the phone into download mode it shows 11 attempts and as being custom but the phone is not rooted.
Any suggestions on how to complete the root process?
Thanks in advance

How to upgrade from 4.1.2 without losing carrier unlock?

I purchased a carrier unlocked Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to flash a Jelly Bean or KitKat rom on this device without losing the carrier unlock? I am currently using this on a GSM network (Cricket). I managed to do enough searching to get it rooted using Framaroot. But I'm not exactly sure what my next step is. It seems like many of the roms are Verizon specific...but I could be mistaken. I'm sure some of you have been through this before...and I'm a total newb to this device and carrier. I'm pretty decent with using ADB, Odin, etc. I just don't want to brick this thing just to upgrade the Android Version.

[Q] Confused about Virgin Mobile UK Samsung Galaxy S3 models

1st post here so hope this is the right place to ask this and please be gentle
I have a Virgin Mobile UK Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300, running stock 4.3, I9300XXUGMK6
I want to install a custom OS on my S3. The phone is almost out of contract, 3 years old and is running really slowly on the stock rom with awful battery life (I have tried a new battery). I previously rooted and installed custom roms (cyanogenmod, slimkat) on an old i9000 and was blown away by the massive improvement in speed and battery life. If I get the same benefits with the i9300 then I will keep this phone and go sim-only rather than getting a new phone. The i9000 was unlocked...I guess I need to check the i9300 is too?
As far as I can tell I need to root using Odin 1.07 and Philz Touch recovery. However, I am confused about what version of S3 Virgin UK provide- I have found guides on how to root and install custom roms on Virgin S3's but they refer to models such as Sprint or SPH-L710- I'm not sure what I have, how to check or how this differs US to UK. I have searched on here and more widely and cannot find an answer to this.
Recommendations on what custom OS to install also welcomed
If it says i9300 under the battery then it it's the standard international model, you can flash anything from this forum. Carrier firmware usually add bloat and modem, you won't miss anything from it.
Unlock is by paid for code, don't try to do it free as that usually ends up with a brick, unless virgin supply unlocked handsets.
Follow the guide in general forum, sticky thread on how to flash custom recovery then custom rom. Root isn't needed if you are going to custom rom, they all come rooted.

Which model to buy for easy rooting?

Hi Everyone,
I have finally decided to get the S6 edge as the prices have fallen within my budget. I want to get an unlocked 64 GB GSM model and root it using pingpong root. Can anyone tell me which variant I should get so that I can root and continue to sideload updates while not losing any features.
Thanks!
I suggest you get the international model SM-G925F.
It is unlocked and has the widest support of the community (I saw kernels only support international models G925F/I for the first few versions, before supporting other variants).
Any idea if I can root it and then update it to the latest firmware (while keeping the root)? Don't need OTA, just any way to do it is fine. I love this phone but it has so many hoops to jump through. I need root for adblocking and also need latest firmware for samsung pay.

Flashing Galaxy S5 AT&T ROM on T-mobile device

Hello everyone,
I have tried to look for an answer to my question with no luck. I have an unlocked t-mobile galaxy S5 unrooted with stock ROM and I am with At&t. I need to use wifi calling and therefore I was wondering if I can root then flash a stock AT&T ROM on my device, and what tools I should use. I mean are ROMs cross compatible. I would really appreciate your advice on this.
Thanks
It's a shame no one has an answer for this.
I'm looking for information on this, as well.
I have a SM-G900T (bootloader unlocked). I'm wondering if I can get it to be "stock" (without the yellow Knox warning on boot) and not have the T-Mobile startup animation or apps.
