Hi how can you shut down the XPS, because it keeps on rebooting, the laptop run out of battery while I was updating!
If you press the power and volume button for 5 sec it reboots, if you keep on holding it after that, it vibrates 4 times and shuts down

I have a TAB 10.1, that WONT turn on, and WONT charge, I don't have the receipt as I have received it as a gift, however Samsung took it for repair AND DID NOT REPAIR IT ! Very disappointing!
Is there any other solution to fix it, when I plug it into the computer still nothing...
Please get back to me guys, need your help, thanks
did you tried holding the power button a little bit longer?
It happens from time to time. Just keep it charged and try to turn on from time to time (sometimes holding the button for multiple seconds). Eventually it will turn on. It's the standby of death problem.

yes, I tried everything, holding power down for up to a minute, holding power and volume up and down, also holding the power button while touching the screen, still nothing...
Try connecting to computer.
Or maybe its Sleep of Death issue. Search for it. you will get solutions like draining your battery completely.

Did you try Power button, then volume down button (only, don't touch the power up) for 8-10 seconds while still holding the power button, then letting off the volume down button? It always works for me.

Hey guys wondering if anyone experienced the phone being basically bricked without actually unlocking, rooting or anything.
It has happened before one, just laying on the table and the phone turning off but it came back on after a while.
Today it occurred again but has not turned back on for two days. When charging the only light is the LED flashing constantly every second. If I hold the power button and volume up then the flashing of the LED changes pace to One long flash (1 sec) to two quicker flashing ones (.5 seconds). If I unplug it and plug the phone back, The LED flashing is back to the original constant pace.
When unplugged sometimes holding the power and volume up button initiates the LG logo and then turns off and then shows the logo once more and then turns off for good.
If I plug this into the computer, its like someone ejecting a usb and plugging it in like a maniac. I heard the connecting and disconnecting sounds from windows nonstop like as if its about to blow up.
I've tried holding the power button for a minute the same goes with different combinations with the volume buttons.
The only thing I haven't tried is opening the phone, kind of afraid I will mess it up. Any solutions?

Never heard of this but I can throw a few suggestions out. Try unplugging, then holding both Volume buttons and the power button (All three) for about 10 seconds. Try different USB ports.
Try this if all else fails: Source: http://cellphoneforums.net/lg/t348484-perform-master-hard-reset-lg-optimus-g.html#axzz2YPtvkfDk
To Perform a Master Reset via Hardware
1. Turn off your device.
2. With the device turned off, press and hold the Volume Down key as well as the Home key at the same time.
3. While both the Volume Down key and the Home key are held down, press the Power button.
4. When the LG logo appears, release all the keys.
5. Scroll to and highlight wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
6. Scroll to and highlight Yes – delete all user data by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
7. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Volume Down key to scroll to and select wipe cache partition. Press the Power button when ready.
8. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Power button to select reboot system now.
9. The master reset should now be successfully completed and your LG Optimus G should restart.
Tried three buttons, nothing yet..As for the hard reset the home button is touch screen so not sure if it would would for this device

Anyways, doesnt matter guys thanks for trying, decided to just go in att and buy a samsung s4
Hello,
Since rooting the phone it will not restart without pulling the battery.
If in Xposed "soft reboot" or "reboot" both turn the phone off and it will not respond to button input to re-start
If pressing power until power off menu comes up and I press reboot, it shuts down and will not re-start until I pull the battery.
If I plug in the power while it is in this state it will not charge or start
Once I pull the battery, it will:
Charge without starting when plugged in
Start with power button press
All else acts normal.
Any ideas? I just hate taking the stupid case off and pulling the battery any time I have to re-start!
I haven't narrowed down what causes it, but I've eliminated a lot of things:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/rebooted-140-times-attempt-to-narrow-t3251949
Just for clarity, it more than likely isn't actually "off", it's rebooting and getting frozen with a black screen. Besides pulling the battery you can also long press the power button (10 seconds?) to force it to turn off, then turn it back on again. I usually just pull the battery too because it's quicker.
Yeah, no the long press doesn't do anything no matter if I leave it pressed for 5 seconds or even 45 seconds (Tried that several times)
Leaving it alone for an hour doesn't do anything. If anything I'm doubting that it turns all the way off rather than gets stuck rebooting. It is absolutely frozen until I pull the battery.
Here are the only things I have found which works to avoid taking the phone apart:
From Quickboot: Power Off (do not reboot, do not soft boot, etc, just power off) (quickly powers down, almost instant)
or
Press and hold power button for menu: Power Off (longer time to power down)
From either of those, the power button turns the phone back on no problem.
No rebooting works.
My Nova launcher got crashed and not even getting uninstalled so i just rebooted the device normally but after that the device dont turn on and plug in charger just blinks the LED light and holding volume UP/down and power button doesn't do anything.
Please help
try holding volume down + power button for 10 seconds and then releasing if done correctly it'll boot into bootloader and it can still be recovered...
otherwise....
Same problem
This started happening alot now a days with my infinix zero 2, i am using my device smoothly than suddenly it goes blank screen and did not respond, nor reboot or power up till its whole battery drop to 0, as it has non removable battery so i can not just plug it off and put it back.. Sometimes it vibrate whole time while in blank screen. I have tried almost everything,
1. hold the power button for more than 30 sec
2.hold the volume down button along the power button (till 1 min)
3. hold the volume up button along the power button (till 1 min)
4.hold the volume up and down button along the power button (till 1 min)
5. Even i reinstall its software by sp-flash tool (device is not rooted)
Blank screen will stay for 1 to 2 days until its battery runs out. than i have to charge it and will function properly. but after some few days this happen again again and it annoys me so much. i need a solution please help me out. It is in blank screen right now and i have to travel and i need it urgent. Thanks in advance
