Been using this wallpaper program for almost a year now and for some reason keeps saying heap memory is to small. No clue what its talking about since its at 48m and always used to work. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue and knows how to fix it since comment's on the app seem all fine.

I'm currently using CronosDroid 2.13 (2.1) and was on Modaco 3.2 (1.5) previously.
Within 10 mins of switching on my phone Taskiller widget reports only 30-35mb of free memory. No problem right? 30mb is more than enough? Wrong. Anytime free memory drops below about 50mb phone gets stupidly sluggish.
I do have 120+ apps installed, but surely you should be able to do that on a platform that has 50,000+ apps available? I know HTC Hero is 1 year old hardware, but hardly obselete.
Is it just me or does Android suck at managing memory? I'm not a dev, but surely memory management is a key part of an OS..?
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Anyone else have this problem?
It's starting to get annoying having to kill all tasks every 15 mins....

You should make friends with dkelley. He has 160+ apps, and after hacre modified Froyd to work for loads of apps, he stopped getting lags.
Not sure what the fix was though, but I'm sure it still carries through to today...
Hey guys. Since i have my new s3 i ve noticed that sometimes apps in background close them self. For example if im on the browser i go answer a txt msg then came back to browser and page re loads itself like i re open it.
I know that when the ram is full the phone close apps. I started monitoring my ram and at start the phone i have always around 300mb. Dont thinks is much but its ok.
The thing is that as soon as i start using my phone memory left is 150mb at best. Even though i close apps and left the phone "rest" for an hour. There it stays. Then is when the automatically close apps issue starts. I download ram manager pro and set differents profiles. And ram still works as bad as before.
Something is keeping my ram and i dont know what is. I have all regulars apps. Twitter..facebook(both with sync deactivated)...whatsapp. not much more.
Any ideas?

have you changed the build prop delvik heap size to lower the ram used. should free up some more ram for the user.
thats the only thing i know that will give you more ram to work with.....i honestly did not (EVER) see any Ram issues on my phone until i jumped to Jelly Bean ( memory Leak) so i dont think that you should have a problem.

hey I need some help figuring this issue out. Why is my storage for applications all jacked up despite having over 5 gigs of space left?
Are you using any mods to move apps to your sdcard? It might be causing issues with the way the phone calculates the used space.
nope, I know it's a minor inconvenience but it just sucks that it isn't working right.
is there anyway to look up the app directory data files and see if any of those are larger than normal?
I have noticed an issue with the latest CM7 for this phone where occasionally apps just open to a black screen. Sometimes you can get it to work by clearing data/cache and stopping the service, sometimes not. What usually ALWAYS works is to move it either to Phone or SD storage depending on where it is. This will fix it for awhile. I've seen Pandora do this mostly, but Dolphin also does it. Handcent does it from time to time. I have the CM7 BSR installed, I've also tried V6 Supercharger and it hasnt helped with this issue. I was wondering if perhaps my internal storage doesnt have a bad sector? I know on my old Eris I had to rescan the internal memory to flag blocks, it reduced the space a tiny tiny bit but fixed some wierd issues that phone had.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi everyone. Sorry for starting a new post, but I looked and I wasn't sure where my question fit in. I'm using Link2SD on my kids' tablets and overall it works great. I got really fast (SanDisk extreme) micro SD cards for black Friday and the games run faster than with tablet memory. One thing I'm trying to figure out is why, even though I have both tablets set up mostly the same, one of the tablets has a lot less free space showing. I do have about 400-500 MB more of apps on the tablet showing less free space, BUT it is showing 4.0 GB free space vs. 5.8 GB free space on the other tablet. Why would this be (1.8 GB difference) if all else is the same?
Is it something to do with dalvik/cache? Speaking of it, is it safe to wipe the dalvik/cache through TWRP now that I have Link2SD set up with 30+ apps linked? Do I then just relink the dalvik files after rebooting? Or do things get messed up? I'm hesitant to do any of that because I have everything working well now, except the free space issue.
Or, if I multi-select and then choose to relink everything (apk, dex, internal data), could that help? Everything appears to already be linked correctly, so would relinking mess it up? Also, as a side note, I don't have any lib files linked as I have found that in the past it did mess things up for me. It would cause some apps to re-optimize at every boot, I think because the lib files wouldn't relink, even though I enabled it in the Link2SD settings. So now I stay away from that and all else is good, except this free space issue.
Any ideas on a solution? Is there something else taking up free space that's not listed in internal or system memory? Maybe downloaded Google play books? Or are they listed in the app data? Is the free space shown not correct, and it's actually more? I just can't figure it out. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!!!!
Here are the screenshots. You can see 5.76GB vs 4.07GB, but only 6.94GB vs 7.34GB for internal space difference. Why?
