Quite honestly, I loved stock dialler of Samsung. I was missing it for 2 days when I flashed CM7 by grif_07 for the first time! After exploring what CM was capable of, I agreed to compromise.

Mostly, I liked the swipe (from left-to-right) to call and Right to left for SMS. I installed plenty of Dialler Apps from market. None was such a smooth.

[DISCUSSION] popdog123's Oxygen ROM Port

Any questions, problems, or comments? Leave them here for others to reply! Let's keep the developmental thread clean of stuff that is not related to the development of the ROM (untested features, untested kernels, third party apps, etc; pretty much anything other than what comes stock with the rom). That's why that thread is in the development section. Now with that in mind, post away!
Keep up-to-date with the rom here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18900441
first thing i did after flashing the rom, i benchmarked it using neocore and compared it with the results that i got on miks 6.5.8. the results: the oxygen rom consistently scored 2 fps more than miks 6.5.8 on 245/600 smartass
looking good so far! only cons:
no fm radio (maybe because of the bluetooth problem?) and stock video application (ah well i can just download a third party app)
scrolling is not so smooth

i am just as confused. ive followed each direction carefully...flash rom, then gapps.
perhaps it wasnt included?
and as i have read, oxygen was also built for battery life. that doesnt seem to be the case so far. i have wiped battery stats but it is going down pretty fast. must be that battery drain issue in franco.kernel v18 (im already at 93% after only 52 minutes)

is anyone else having issues with video recording? it seems to not respond for several seconds after you hit the record button, then the screen turns white (i am on the original kernel that came with it, franco.kernel v18)

I'm talking too about stock oxygen (standard Gingerbread) keyboard as you can see in attachment. I tried it after I saw your post and before that I installed lg stock, probably it is not connected, but you can try, here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14665802&postcount=14
gingerbread keyboard will remain default.
This is only thing which i do and word suggestion on stock keyboard for me works. I didn't install anything else what can be related to keyboard or languages.

is the phone hanging on anyone using this rom? right when it boots up, when i give it several "commands" it seems to temporarily freeze and act sluggishly. also when i am playing a cpu-intense game, the phone sometimes reboots starting from the oxygen bootanimation
after looking at the development thread, it looks like the keyboard suggestion is no longer an issue and you can now flash another kernel without getting the blackscreen bug. is this true?

MIUI sound issues

Since putting miui on my phone I've noticed when listening to music the sound quality is very poor compared to stock or cm9 .
I've been through the equalizer settings but cannot find anything to make it better.
Anyone noticed this or know of a solution
Cheers

There is some built-in protection for ears and the speakers,so the volume has a limit that cannot be override.
Look in system/lib/soundfx there is libhearingprotection.so maybe if we remove this file the volume will be louder but will not be safe.
I don't have time to test things and I am boring from flashing that's why I'm not active for development.

Yeah, i figured that. It has some minor bugs, but its most customisable, smooth and polished as far as GB and ICS ROM are for this phone. Also my main dock sometimes dissapears but i set it to none and then revert back to 5 icons and it reapers.
I was just wondering if there was some way to modify some file in the system and enable vibrations. :/

Hi, The Rom is great. Looks spectacular and is pretty smooth, but I found a few bugs please check on those:
Unable to receive messages (had to install go sms)
When attending a call using the headset button, call goes to mute, have to press the mute button twice to fix it. (repeats every time)
Wifi is not working (doesn't scan for networks)
Unable to tether with usb
WiFi hot spot not working

Oops!
This is embarrassing..
I'm new here and I confused K3vin71's Cyanobean v1.1 rom with this one.
I'm not allowed to post on the developers forum since I don't have enough regular posts yet and I figured someone might have started a new thread to address issues of his rom.
My apologies to BadBoy101 and others for causing the confusion.
However If anyone has tried out his rom and have experienced the same problems as I have please let him know.
Meanwhile I'll go get my 10 regular posts till then

Coming soon threads serve really no purpose. When you are ready to release your ROM, feel free to PM me and I will reopen this and move it to development.

Music beat effects for custom ROMs

Hi devs
This is a feature request post. I am new here and not sure if it is the right place to post it.
I am looking for an app to bring back music beat light effects that has been lost after I have installed CM11. This is one of the feature of Xperia SP that makes it stand out of the crowd. I have recently known that SONY has released its illumination bar API.

The SONY lighting effect hasn't been fully developed for CM11 as far as I know. Maybe you can use CUSTOM SONY ROMs as an alternative :good:

Haha I guess you have what I have. Its actually all working as what Sony expected the beats to be. I think youre listening to some instrumentals (etc) that doesnt have vocals so Walkman just randomly picks up unnecessary tunes in the music and thus a weird light effect. The new one is oriented to vocals if you can tell
The old one was much more accurate in picking instruments and real music and not vocals so you might want to revert if you really want the unintentional version of the lighting effect
