I notice jerky scrolling in the apps. If i swipe vertically slow over the display, the scrolling is jerky. Because of the high resolution I expect a smooth scrolling. I've done the latest update for the XPERIA S.
Who has bad scrolling too?
Same here i trink they will fix this with the ics update or the next minor update nothing to worry about the Hardware is more than strong enough. It will be smooth as butter with 2d & UI acceleration i guess

Hopefully!
I get jerky scrolling as well, I have the Xperia Sola. It must be something in the Sony operating system itself because I get the jumps even with other launchers...
mine is smooth as but im using apex launcher with GPU rendering turned on
apex launcher is the smoothest ive ever seen tbh not even trebuchet is that good.
Another vote for Apex here, don't even need hardware acceleration on.
I wonder why some people have issues like this and launcher redraws and some don't?

The major thing I look at with roms is the smoothness of the rosie scroll. A lot of roms are perfect but I can't stand the laggy/slow scrolling. I noticed that even if there's a smooth/ultra smooth rosie option on some of these roms, it is still slow, but on other roms like Prime XL, it's smooth as butter ( I don't use prime because of all the random reboots). Is this because some ROMs don't have GPU rendering? If that's the case, how would I go about enabling it or forcing it?
Find a Rom that has it check the build.prop copy it (it should be labeled) past it into your build.prop if you can't do it I can do it for ya
Sent from my mom's Nexus S 4G..... It's True lol
Nevermind, I found the build.prop. debug.sf.hw = 1 enables GPU rendering right? Is that it?
I'd be willing to bet that a tweak such as forced gpu rendering would maybe make the scrolling smoother, but I can't imagine it being more stable or safe than without.
I have a samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 running stock 4.1.1 jellybean and stock touchwiz launcher and in developer options I found the option "force gpu rendering" I have noticed that when this is turned on scrolling through my home screens, app drawer etc. is noticebly smoother and some games like gta 3 are able to be run at max graphics with no lag while when this is off it struggles to run at medium graphics settings without lag. I have looked around and still dont fully understand what force gpu rendering is and I would really appreciate it if someone would explain what it is and why it makes these things smoother. I am also wondering if anyone has run into any apps that dont work or dont work as well with this setting turned on and if you could list any that have problems. Thanks

Hi!
I have problems with the webbrowsing experience as it is
very sluggish, choppy when scrolling. This is in all webbrowsers
except Dolphin Beta (!?)..
The UI is super smooth and benchmarks and games is fluid and fast.
Also, pinch-zoom is totally smooth.
The phone is absolutely great in all areas but this stuttery, choppy scroll.
Recognize this?
Any thoughts, hints and solutions would be great!
Greetings, Daniel.
Hey guys,
I just got my Z4 Tablet last week and so far I really like it and want to keep it. BUT what’s really bugging me is the jittery, choppy scrolling and/or lag when scrolling in the YouTube app, Google Play Store, Google Play Newsstand, Google+ app as well as non gApps like Facebook and Instagram. Basically every vertical scroll movement where content is pulled from the web is not fluid at all. (Here's an example what it looks like, although the video features a Samsung Galaxy S6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPOf0knKmvI )
So my question is: Do you guys have the same problem?
I read and watched a lot of reviews before purchasing the device and everyone’s opinion was pretty much the same: buttery smooth performance, no lag whatsoever. So I’m really curious wether or not it’s just my device or if everyone is experiencing the same. Maybe the gApps aren’t optimized for the Xperia UI (or vice versa?)?
Would be great to get some feedback on this
Greetings!
All Devices have a little lag on fast Scrolling.
It comes from loading Icons and Pictures.
You see after first loading the Pictures no lags more.
No, I have it even when all pictures are loaded. After a reboot the tablet allows smother scrolling.
I also have it even when all pictures are fully loaded, it just becomes a little less I guess. And yes, after a reboot scrolling is actually a bit smoother, but never really like it's supposed to be. My Oneplus One for instance is a lot smoother and never experiences these problems albeit the older and supposedly inferior hardware.
What OS version u have on your Oneplus? To be honest I hope it will be improved by 5.1.
I already know about the latency when scrolling on the Honor 9, but in certain apps, like the Reddit Official App, i get some extremely choppy scrolling, theres full 1 second delays when im scrolling througth my feed which makes for an awful experience, is it just my phone or does anyone else have this problem? Is this still present in the Oreo build? Thanks!
I believe there is a software bug related to scrolling:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/help/scrolling-delay-t3665877
I got my honor 9 last week and i noticed similar effects. Some apps are okay, others are very laggy with arbitrary stops or stuttering while scrolling.
I believe it's a little worse if apps use these card-layouts instead of single lists. Anyway, in summary scrolling has a little delay and ist kind of laggy.
Until now i hope they will fix this by an update . It's not that bad, that i would return this phone.
It's because of the app that's not well optimised
