Vault—the Ultimate in Privacy Protection
Vault hides your confidential SMS messages, contacts, call logs, pictures and videos. It’s the BEST app for Android users to hide SMS messages and call history from prying eyes! It keeps your private stuff hidden, giving you complete control over your privacy and security.
With Vault, you can:
1. NEW in 2.0! Monitor who’s trying to see what’s on your phone and photograph them in the act. This feature requires an Android 2.3 (or higher) device with a front-facing camera.
2. NEW in 2.0! Hide your photos and videos so only you can see them. They’ll be encrypted and only viewable in Vault when you enter the correct password.
3. Import your sensitive SMS text messages to Vault. Strong encryption and password protection ensures they’ll be hidden from everyone but you.
4. Make your private contacts invisible. Simply add a number to Vault and any calls or messages from this number will only appear in Vault. They’ll no longer appear in your phone's native SMS folder and call logs.
TIP: We recommend adding your most commonly used contacts to
Vault. If your phone is lost or stolen, you won’t have to worry about anyone accessing your contacts or messages.
5. Protect your real Vault by creating one or more “fake” vaults. If someone insists that you give them your password and display your secret messages, you can show them the “fake” vault. Problem solved!

This app lost all of my contacts that I stored in it and since it deletes them from your android contacts I can't get them back. Photo/video seems to work but definitely would not recommend this app for anything you wouldn't want lost.

you must return to your settings before uninstall the app... i did the same mistake first time but my luck was that i chose to hide only the videos... so before uninstalling turn back to show contacts, videos, and other things that you selected to hide
I think you have a folder on your sdcard (the app folder) and there must be the things that you chose to hide.. cheek it
i have format my hp without backup my file on vault 1st...then after format i install vault back...my old file cannot open...please help me to recover back my file...
Does anyone know of an app that can actually hide other apps?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA Premium App
free cannot, premium may offer additional feature
Needs a file explorer. I have videos that I need hidden, but the app can't find them.
Help
I accidently cleared the Data of this app… I've reinstalled it, but it doesn't show the previous ones :'(
What should I do ?
I've searched that long time
Thanks a lot

Could anyone out there tell me if the S Note that you got with the ICS update - NOT downloaded from S Choice, or from the file that I saw floating around the forum, just the ones that came with ICS automatically - matches the following permissions?
- Your personal information
add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owner's knowledge, read Browser's history and bookmarks, read calendar events plus confidential information, read contact data, read user defined dictionary, write Browser’s history and bookmarks, write contact data
- Services that cost you money
directly call phone numbers, send SMS messages
- Your location
coarse (network-based) location, fine (GPS) location
- Your messages
edit SMS or MMS, read SMS or MMS, receive SMS or MMS
- Network communication
control NFC, create Bluetooth connections, full internet access
- Your accounts
acts an account authenticator, manage the accounts list, use the authentication credentials of an account
- Storage
modify/delete USE storage contents
- Hardware controls
change your audio settings, record audio, take pictures and videos
- System Tools
allow Wi-Fi Multicast reception, bluetooth administration, change network connectivity, change WIF state, change WIMAX state, change your UI settings, delete all application cache data, disable keylock, format external storage, modify global system settings, mount and unmount filesystems, prevent phone from sleeping, retrieve running applications, write sync settings.
Why I want to know, if you're interested:
I didn't get S Note with my ICS update (SGH-i717R - Canadian, Rogers), and after a song and dance with support, was told by one agent/one email support to download it from the S Choice app store ... and by one call agent that I should stay away from it because it's not from Samsung and possibly malware.. Since S Note was supposed to come with the update, and only My Story needed additional downloading, I was a little wary.
My misgivings started with the bad grammar in the description, the different developer from the My Story app, and finally, the giant pile of permissions it wants. I've tried a slew of things to get S Note/Premium Suite to initialize, and am now at either reflashing the update, which I'd like to avoid since the phone works fine and I don't know what the hell I'm doing, or mailing it in “to the lab,” which I'd like to avoid because apparently not all of Samsung knows what it's doing either, judging by some of the answers I got. So I'd like to just do a comparison to see if the original S Note that comes with ICS also has these permissions. If it does, then I'm just going with the S Choice one and stop trying other things.
Thank you for any help!
Anyone? I know it's a bit of an oddball question, but..? (Unless nobody got it with ICS, which wouldn't surprise me, either.)
Matches what i have... I dont think its anything bad. Samsung proabably wants snote to have full functionality. Insert contacts and be able to call them from the app, geo tag your location etc... Look at the permissions of facebook... They are not that different.

Fantastic - thanks! I was mostly put off by the description of the app "this application is S note can make own note." doesn't exactly scream "I am legit software put out by Samsung, download me!" But if it's pretty much what the original has, then I'm fine.
Again, thanks!
Hi guys,
I'm searching for some messenger with strong privacy and "secret" features. Better explained, I've found Telegram as a good alternative to Whatsapp with its encryption features, but it lacks one thing that I really need: I'd like to keep some chat very private: it will be very useful if the conversation had some kind of PIN-password-pattern unlocking features.
This is possible for sms (Handcent, for example), but I haven't found it in any Messenger service.
Do you know any?
Bump. I'm looking for one too. I looked into evolveSms but I think its a bit over priced for the features. I'm currently using handcent but I don't really like the UI.
I have a data plan with limited sms, so I am interested in messenger/chat service like Whatsapp, Telegram, Kakao Talk and so on, but they all don't offer the 'private chat' option.
Surespot
You could just lock Telegram with another app? There are tons on the Play Store.

Yes, I know, but this is the last option. I'd like to find a solution within the messenger app.
Threema has an Option for PIN Protection.
If activated you have to enter your PIN Code before you can see the messages.
The Problem with Threema is the same with most other messengers ... it´s not open source.
Go Sms Pro
Try GO SMS PRO the best messaging app on playstore it has lots of themes a good ui and the most important one privacy !!! you can protect your messages with pin or pattern lock !!! you can search on play store. I think you have to pay for some features but you can try it !!!
Sorry for my bad english ....!

Once again, I'm not interested in sms app, I need some messenger app working through data network. Maybe with the same features of go sms pro.
As shiva-afk stated, Threema has the protection option you want. It provides end-to-end encryption and protects your send/received messages/media:
First, you can protect your conversations if you set a passphrase for your encryption key. So, if you end the Threema process or reboot your phone, you have to enter this passphrase first before you can access any chat log or received pictures since they are stored encrypted (unless you exported them from the app into common store like the sd card).
Second, you can set a PIN to the app itself. So, even if you have unlocked the key with your passphrase, the app locks itself after being idle for some time and asks for a pin. You can define the time before it locks itself in several steps (30s, 1m, 2m, 5m, 10m, 20m).
However, it is not free (costs ~1,60€) and its not open source. The devs (from Switzerland) claim to use the common NaCl-library for crypto, but you must trust their sayings.

Hi,
As a lot of Android users, I have contacts stored on my phone.
The risk is that an app access the contact list and retrieve all the contacts email address for example in order to send them email messages.
I know it is important to check apps permission before installing. But the real life is that sometimes you have to install an app, even though it has access to your contact list.
Very often the access your contact list is only used by a small feature of the app that you never use.
So my question, how can I get a kind of protection around my contact list so that I have a pop-up permission requested each time an app is accessing to my contact list?
This way, I am at least able to allow access only when it is necessary.
Regards, Chris
Hello everyone. Few days ago my new WP app has been posted in Windows Market. And now I have to ask you, could you help test it? Search in market: SendMe
You can easy send and receive messages. Also you can easy copy text to clipboard. For example: You need to text really BIG URL-address, here you can easy do it, just click on message.
App will have a lot of changes, so this is just beginning.
I'm really curious: what the reason and purpose of the app? There are SMS, emails, bunch of different messengers on the platform to "send and receive messages"... Why do you think anyone will install it?
Use device network services, music, media items currently playing, any of sensors, acces browser, send push notiifications, use data stored on external storage device (sd card? ).
Hello erverybody,
I am looking for a solution to use both things on the phone at the same time (Business and Private).
The Problem is to separte the contacts and mails so i wish a similar solution as Samsung my knox / secure Folder.
i have read some small News about LG Gate on the web that this will provide similar functions...
But i can't finde the App on my Phone or in the LG Smart World
at this time i give a try for 'Nine' but this solution is not the best...
Than i will not Sync the Buisiness contacts to my private contacts and so i can see the buisiness contacts of my Exchange account in the Nine App.
This works good but the incoming Phone calls on the Business Sim Card will not identify.

If you have root you could enable "mutiuser guest mode" which allows another user to use this device and it is totally seperate access. When you add another user it will walk yoi through the setup wizard again, just like when you first setup your v20.
I can't remember if it can share apps, I think thats optional and has to be set using the primary account.
If you have root you can flash the option to "enable" it here
If you find this or any posts be sure and hit the thanks button on the bottom left. Only saying this because it looks like, by your post count, you are starting to be more active in discussions.
Thank you Stangedriver for you're replay!
But i have found another pefect solution for this case for free and without root rights
The Solutions is "Android Enterprise " based on the Samsung Knox System, here you can creat a Work Container
with seperated Apps and Contacts. The Trial or Demo for Android Enterprise is completely sufficient for this case
- The phone can identify the incoming calls from both Adressbooks
- You can install a second WhatsApp account without a other help app such as parallel system
More infomations you can find here: https://www.android.com/intl/en_uk/enterprise/management/
