I have an at&t Dell Venue but in the applications menu there is not the option unknown sources!!! How can I enable it?

This works for the Venue, I could access EMList this way with my stock 325 build. If your build doesn't have EMList, the files are included in the 325 build found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Venue. I have not tried to open up a .pkg file to see if they can be pulled from /data/system/app or not though. Good luck.

hello to you all I would ask how I can change the theme of my streak o2 2.1. I tried to follow some guidelines such as: apk rename the application to amend apk.zip then modify the images contained in res. but once adjusted if I try to replace me in the star by an error even though I have root permissions. there is some guidance for such changes?
I would also ask you one last thing I would do everything directly from my mac (via Cyberduck type with wifi or via USB with any application) and do everything by the streak

These are adb, terminal & spare parts.
I am running original o2 8105 rom and have found spareparts in system/app of which i tried to reinstall as root to get it to show in the application list but it wont install.
please can anybody advise what i need to do to get these applications to show.
search for engineering mode
there's codes you can type into the phone pad to unlock those apps..

adb isn't really an app and the other 2 have nothing to do with o2...
terminal and spare parts are on the market.

the issue is, that doesnt work in the 12821/318 build. i can confirm it comes up with this error in the new build.

Anyone know how to resolve the following error? "Need correct passport in SD card, please check it" / Side load apps?

Have you tried the EMList installer activity? See the WiKi. You can use LauncherPro, ADW, or an app like Any Cut to create a shortcut to the installer activity and then run it.
I really miss the advanced options of my SIM (information and operations on my bank account through my SIM), and I used to have an icon in Program Folder referring to SIM Tolkit (in 1.6 stock and also 2.2 stock); but now, after upgrading to Steve's 1.5.1, this icon is missing, altough the apk sit there were it's supposed it should be (that is in system/app).
It seems like the stk service doesn't load on start up, so that I'm not able to fully use my SIM and it's advanced features.
Anyone has any idea on how to get stk service load?

Solved: I installed stock 2.2 build 12821 (via fastboot and 309 recovery), flashed perfomanxe fix by smokku, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848487 (steve's OC kernel and fards tweaks), flashed et voilà: the SIM Toolkit icon (and menu) was again there in Program folder!!!
Quadrant consistently around 1700, stable, smooth and error free!!!

I'm mighty stumped. I know the O2 ROM lacks WMA support, but I've been ontwo StreakDroid 1.5.x versions, as well as the US 2.2, and an earlier version of StreakDroid (maybe 1.4.x) and the SD card scanner is picking up none of them.
I'm currently on US 2.2, and now I can actually play WMAs (before even trying to open them with a file browser wouldn't work).
I've tried Google searching, I've tried searching the forum, I've read several pages deep into stickies, and I've come up with nothing.
Does anyone have any input as to what to try?
US 1.6 (WMA worked) -> O2 1.6 (WMA Worked) -> O2 2.1 (WMA Failed) -> older DJ_Steve (WMA failed) -> DJ_Steve 1.5.3 (WMA Failed) > DJ_Steve 1.5.1(WMA Failed) -> DJ_Steve 1.5.3(WMA Failed) -> US 2.2 via QDL (Not found my media scanner and has no meta data in Music Player, but plays).
EDIT: Just to be clear, I did do a wipe before installing each ROM, and MP3s are found, its only WMAs (and maybe WMV) that aren't being found.
You may need to download an app called wavpalyer, it's £0.99 if i remember correctly.

How would this help? My current problem is that the media scanner isn't finding WMA files. If it were used in another ROM (one where WMAs won't even play), it wouldn't be of use because it only uses the codecs natively supported.
For the time being I'm just using the dell provided solution. Hopefully an actual solution can be found. If someone knows something please let me know.
