Bricking and Unbricking my ideos s7 - Ideos S7 Android Development

The whole adventure or rather misadventure began when I rooted my huawei ideos s7 tablet.
It went well after several tries with various tools starting from universal root, z4root and ginger break, last one being successfull.
The I started installing variety of those softwares from titanium to what not, and tried to save the rom which ended up in rebooting the device.But to my shock the device wont boot. It would start booting and then repeat the same screen logo again and again. Yes!!!!my poor tablet have been bricked.
But this post is on how to unbrick in such cases which I have just done.
1. take out the battery, sim card, sd card and unplug from any power source. (make sure battery has sufficient charge)
2. format the sd card to a fat system in a computer ( not android) using a sdcard adapter
3. download the dload. rar file from this link
http://www.mediafire.com/?9l52jhbl7b09czp
4.unrar using winrar/ 7zip and make sure the folder is dload with three files .cfg, .app, .log
5. now copy the folder to the formated sdcard
6. now insert the card into battery less tablet and then replace battery and power supply if needed
7. then a bar appears and update process starts. wait till bar gets full and OK appears
8. then remove battery and repeat 6 and 7 again
9. now remove the battery and then the sd card
10. reapply the battery and start the tablet
that is it.
we have the updated 2.2.2 Rom
This update has been confirmed to work with:
S7-103, Indonesian version with dual cameras internal/external sdcard
S7-104, US BestBuy/RadioShack version with dual cameras and internal/external sdcard
S7-105, Australian version with dual cameras and external sdcard

The #NORKERN.BIN file was missing from the origonal post from a page I cant remember on here...... so here it it..... i'll be adding the rest as i type...
#MCCROOT.BIN
#MCCAPP.BIN
#MCCPRVT.BIN
#MMCDATA.BIN
These 4 files are big, so bare with me...
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8XI6S4OH <------- #REDBOOT.BIN #BTBLOCK.BIN #NORKERN.BIN

I'm also going to be modifying this rom to the max, as soon as I sus out a few things..... I'm not a dev..... but I learn faster than the average bear.....
This is all possible with the help of the internet and countless webpages that gave me the tools and knowhow to do what i've done.... so I thank the people out there..... yeah, you know who you are.... (if you read this).
Great job! I am sure this would definitely help out the community!!!
I have uploaded the #MMCROOT.BIN file, so GO FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!.
Cheers.
Sorry for the bump on this old thread. I was wondering if you had the #MCCAPP.bin file. I saw you named it but never uploaded it. Could you please share this? Thanks.
hey lynxdog thanks for this
will try do it following these instructions from dennis_angelo: Step 1
1) Insert the SD card into the PC card reader. If any files exist on SD card, delete them.
2) Copy the “#BTBLOCK.BIN” file to the root of the SD card.
3) Insert the SD card into the Zeen SD card slot. (The Zeen should be powered off, if it isn’t do that now.)
4) Locate the 2 square buttons next to each other on the back side of the Zeen (volume controls)
5) Press and hold those 2 buttons.
6) Press the power button (located on the back side of Zeen on the same edge as the headphone jack) once while still holding the 2 buttons.
7) Observe the screen: Once a loading bar appears release the 2 buttons.
8) Once the loading bar completes turn off the Zeen unit.
Step 2
1) Insert the SD card into the PC card reader. If any files exist on SD card, delete them.
2) Copy the “#REDBOOT.BIN” file to the root of the SD card.
3) Insert the SD card into the Zeen SD card slot. (The Zeen should be powered off, if it isn’t do that now.)
4) Locate the 2 square buttons next to each other on the back side of the Zemea
Step 3 (I don't have the following files but I pressumed these are the android kernel)
1) Insert the SD card into the PC card reader. If any files exist on SD card, delete them.
2) Copy “#MMCAPP.BIN”, “#MMCROOT.BIN”, “#NORKERN.BIN” files to the root of the SD card.
3) Insert the SD card into the Zeen SD card slot. (The Zeen should be powered off, if it isn’t do that now.)
4) Locate the 2 square buttons next to each other on the back side of the Zeen:
5) Press and hold those 2 buttons.
6) Press the power button (located on the back side of Zeen on the same edge as the headphone jack) once while still holding the 2 buttons.
7) Observe the screen: Once a loading bar appears release the 2 buttons. 3 loading bars will appear this time one after the other. The first loading bar will take a minute after completing before the 2nd and then 3rd loading bars appear. Please wait until all three loading bars complete and an onscreen message will then ask you to remove the SD card and power down the unit.
8) Finally, press the power button once and allow Zeen to boot fully. The unit should start in OUT OF BOX EXPERIENCE (OOBE) mode. So it should be asking for your location and language
please someone post MMCAPP.BIN file
thanks
#MMCAPP.BIN
Has anyone figured out where this elusive #MMCAPP.BIN can be found. Apparently it is needed to run the apps once you've done all the other steps. I did everything but my apps tab no longer works on the zeen. Everytime I hit it I get a message 'Application not installed on your Zeen". Does anyone have a fix to take it back? I've done the factory reset and it still comes up the same.
I have no way of accessing the apk's on the SD card now.
***UPDATE*** I installed launcher pro and a z4root and eas file manager and eas task manager and have been able to get to all the apk's and all files on the SD card and have only run into maybe 5 apk's that wouldn't function once installed the rest work great. I also installed 'awesome drop' which allows me to get files to the zeen without the use of the USB cable. However this comes after using the prescribed steps in the above posting which has totally screwed my Zeen. The #mmcapp.bin is a much needed file and until somebody posts it, I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THE ABOVE STEPS. They wipe your zeen clear of any access to your printer apps which is now my BIG problem. I am begging anyone who may own a factory back-up of the zeen to post it or make me an offer to buy it from you. I have no access to my eFax app or any of my HP apps since the method above screwed my zeen, hence screwed me. You should not be posting this crap if you do not have all the files needed.
Mentioned apps are attached to make your life easier than this was for me.
Anyone looking to root this thing, stick with Z4Root, Launcher Pro and take it from there. I have tons of apps on my Zeen and am using it soley as a tablet now because the brainiacs with the above postings gave us all such bad advice by not posting the #mmcapp.bin file with these instructions..
I have Googled all over the place looking for a factory rom for the zeen and am having no luck. A factory reset is not the answer because one of the bin files in the above steps wipes access to everything once you have it 'redhacked' and I have been unable to undo whatever the redboot.bin file has done. A full factory reset just brings me back to setup, but the zeen still boots showing 'redhacked' and once it is up and operational the apps tab no longer works. Even with launcher pro there are still no HP apps for printing, scanning or eFax. It turned what was already a disappointing purchase into a paperweight.
Thanks in advance

Does this help:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/opensource/HP_Photosmart_eStation_C510/
I hope so.

device perma dead. how i did it.

cant find the delete button
anyways the device is fully hardware bricked.
it was a 1.4.2 oem off the shelf nook
it showed rev3 for the omap processor
thats pretty much all the hardware details i remember:
How i permanently bricked it:
after having Lag0matic help me i recovered the 1st time i soft bricked it by using adb to wipe the mmcmlk0 memory card, then re-partition it.
i used the ubuntu wipe and restore image to flash back to 1.4.0 that is included with the ubuntu tool
i rebooted the device and skipped registration and made sure it worked
i used sdformatter to wipe a 16bg pny card i bought from walmart (it is a 4 rated speed card)
i placed the 8-16gb cwm extracted files from the 8-16 cm7 recovery img to the card
i placed the teamb-beta-1 zip onto the card
i placed gapps onto the card
i then booted off the SD card with the cm7 recovery image and installed the teamb-beta1 zip successfully
i factory wiped as recommended
i cleared the cache as recommended
i cleared the dalvik cache
i then installed gapps via the same way
i removed the sd card
rebooted
installed some video players (pretty much all of them that had more than 4.5 stars to try play HD video
it woudlnt play hd video
noticed the hardware players would not enable hardware codecs, and if forced would hard lock the thread and force me to hard boot it
gave up on that, copied some games from my htc-glacier over to my sd card for the nook (i copied the whole sd card from the phone)
played some games but the saved games would not load
copied them to the internal "sd card" (data space)
still would not load saved games
figured to clean install it again
using the normal memory card manager (NOT that evil tophat rommanager) i formatted the sd-card, and the internal card by dis-mounting them then formatting them
made the cwm bootable, added the rom and gapps again (same versions)
...
device will not boot with the cable plugged in
unplugged the cable, it boots, but the memory card will not boot the device. it locks up on the "non animated" boot screen
plug the cable back in, still wont boot from it
take out memory card
now it boots with the cable plugged in. wierd. oh well. put stick in and hit the N button to load the recovery manually
recovery will not load from the sd card. "bad image, crc etc"
/huh i think/
reboot again, no sd card, hit n to go to the internal recovery
internal recovery loads, shows me the same errors as before indicating the partitions are gone ... again ....
/me = scream and swear .... alot
go to recovery
recovery cannot write to data, system. emmc, only boot AAAAND! it no longer says happy errors, now it says omap.c can't mkfs on .... blah (alot of things)
/me = oh ****, it is referring to itself as the cpu... not a good sign/
fire up adb
adb shell = no devices
/me = no biggie/
stop and restart adb kill/start server like last time to pick the unit up
adb devices = ur boned dude..... no devices
/me = ooooohhh ****/
look in device manager
the generic adb device entry ... is not listed...
/crap self/
re-install windows to seperate box
adb still wont see it
reboot issues are getting worse... now it keeps doing the soft-recovery for BN.... then hanging.
/DURP/
after that last reboot and "self heal attempt" it is fully durped.
it will not boot if the usb cable has power to it, be it computer or wall plug
it will not boot from the sd card. and 50% of the time with the sd card in it wont power at all.
by not powering up, the lcd stays dead, no flicker, no backlight so this is not a blank screen, or hung.
so. the unit may be defective... not sure. but theres my story. and a big note of warning.
thank you mega,Lag and others... but i think the unit is going back, and i think im opting for a refund. i learned alot, but the device just makes me feel uneasy in its current state. maybe i will pick a used one up when cm9 hits stable beta, but cm7 was excellent but as i discovered not quite enough (video playback, i did not realize that gingerbread had issues with mkv which is 99% of my video collection).

[Q]Phone won't power on with SD inside (not even flashmode)

Phone won't do anything with SD inside (not even flashmode).
Almost... there's one way i can get it to boot with the SD on and it's the first time after I flash a kernel through flashtool. Then I can even mount it as USB storage and flash roms but after that the phone won't turn on again as long as the SD card is inside.
When I say it won't turn on i mean i don't even get the vibration while pressing power button.
Already tried repairing through PC Companion but no luck. Had to remove card for PC companion to recognize the phone and get into flashmode.
The phone is running great now with FeraV4. It doesn't even says no sd card detected.
Possible causes:
1- battery: the phone will be 2 years old on February, it's not like the first day but i don't think it's soooo bad to cause this.
2- SD card: tried with my 16Gb class 6 and with 4Gb Class 4 with no luck, both FAT32 and formatted in many different ways (CWM, SD fomat, Windows).
Next Steps:
0 - deplete the battery and try again. As i read in some thread.
1 - check a repair shop has any battery to test it. (tomorrow)
2 - if it doesn't work maybe i'll see if it's worth leaving it for repairing right now.
3 - get one of these and try http://r.ebay.com/ob5Cof

ICOO iCou D70G2 Softbrick -- Please Help

Hello, I rooted my ICOO iCou D70G2 and managed to softbrick it into a loop at the Android messages. I bought another, identical tablet, and would now like to clone the new one into the old. I would very much appreciate complete, newbie level instructions on how this can be done.
Here is what I have tried so far.
I looked for a stock ROM for this device, but can't find one. The closest out there I could locate is for a D70Pro II. I don't know if it will work, and in any case, I still can't figure out how to flash the old tablet.
The old tablet does go into recovery mode using vol up and power. I tried putting the Pro II flash on the micro sd card (tried both img and zip, separate times), but the tablet isn't seeing the micro sd card in recovery mode with the update from sd card option. It shows a folder /sdcard with some seemingly empty subfolders, but even if I take out the micro sd card it shows the same set of folders and says choose a package.
I tried using the Intel USB drivers with adb, but the device isn't recognized in recovery mode by adb. Rockchip Batch Tools 1.8 also doesn't see the device, although it seems to load the ProII img file correctly.
It would be really great to get this old tablet to work. I don't have any CWM, TWRP or any other backup software on either device at this point. The new device is new from the box and not rooted.

Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L09 Brick Fix With Bootloader Locked (Only EMUI 4.1.1)

*sorry in advance for my bad English, I am native Romanian*
Greetings everyone! For all of you that have a Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L09 (this will not work on other versions) and managed to somehow brick it, I've found a fix for it that requires no Custom Recovery or Bootloader OEM Unlock. Everything will work with everything stock.
Requirements:
*a Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L09 (will not work on other versions as I said earlier);
*a Micro SD Card (8GB Recommended and be somewhat recent and to not have Bad Blocks / Sectors);
*something from what you can copy files on the SD Card (I did it by putting the SD Card in another Phone and Connecting it to my PC and copying the files onto the Micro SD Card, but you can if you have a Micro SD Card slot too on your Laptop / PC, and you can use a Micro SD to SD Adapter too if u wish);
*phone charged at least at 50%;
*optional - Good Internet Connection cuz the file is quite large in GB.
First Download the file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/mvy7...IE-L09_EMUI_4.1.1_Firmware_With_Fix.zip/file;
*
Then have ur Micro SD Card Formated in FAT32 (If u copy the file to the SD Card through the phone, you can Format the Micro SD Card from the File Manager in the phone, it will be automaticly formated to FAT32);
*
After that you gotta open the "Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L09 Firmware Fix (1st).zip" and copy the "dload" folder onto the root of the Micro SD Card;
*
Then go to your Huawei and Insert the Micro SD Card in it;
*
After that you gotta boot up the phone in the Update Mode (Press both Volume - and Volume + at the same time then press the Power On button at the same time, then when the Huawei Logo shows release the Power On button, but keep holding the Volume - and Volume + buttons untill you see the Update Mode appears, if it refuses to go into that mode and just get stuck / hung on the Huawei Logo, put the Micro SD Card right when you see the Huawei Logo or right when you see the Update Mode);
*
The Update should install (it might give a error at 99%, but don't worry about it because the Update installed Successfully, it happened to me too);
*
Then get the Micro SD Card out of the phone and delete the old "dload" folder and copy the "dload" folder from the "HUAWEI P9 Plus Firmware C432B181 (2nd).zip" onto the root of the Micro SD Card (this will take a bit more than the previous one since this is the Software itself);
*
Then go back to the Update Mode as you did with the last Update (Press both Volume - and Volume + at the same time then press the Power On button at the same time then when the Huawei Logo shows release the Power On button, but keep holding the Volume - and Volume + buttons untill you see the Update Mode appears, if it refuses to go into that mode, put the Micro SD Card right when you see the Huawei Logo or right when you see the Update Mode), this Update will once again take more than usuall and don't panic if it gets stuck at a certain percentage and if it errors at 99%, just reboot it after it installed.
This was all, after all this your phone should be all up and running. The phone will be fresh and will ask you to set it up, so do it as you usually do.
CONGRATULATIONS! NOW YOU'VE SUCCESSFULLY UNBRICKED UR HUAWEI P9 PLUS VIE-L09.
