Make a backup of your files to the pc and do a factory reset : *2767*3855# in your phone dialpad. All should be well now.

[Q] Debranding - I have to factory reset, but a question

Hey everyone, so I'm on an SGS2 with O2 branding and KE2 via Kies. I rooted and got Titanium Backup PRO.
I've seen the new KE7 firmware is out for the XEU (unbranded) handsets, and I'm thinking it might just be better to unbrand for greater speed in getting these updates in future.
Point is, by now I've kinda customised my phone nicely, set up apps and emails and settings and so on. But, I hear that to proper set the CSC to XEU, you must factory reset.
My question is this - between Kies Backup and Titanium Backup, can I factory reset to fix CSC, then just restore these two backups and basically be right back to all my nicely customised phone? I'm mainly talking SMS messages, contacts, settings, email and apps really.
Thanks
Matt

Try a free app called MyBackup Root from the Market, it can back up media and data
Don't need factory reset if you install posted update it'd xeu
Factory reset is if you have more than one csc and change that from phone setting

But the guide on Debranding / Rebranding says
STEP 8- One last final step is to change your CSC code by typing this code in the phone dialer *#272*<your IMEI># (the code will be listed at the top of the screen. If you're coming from O2 PAYG handset it should say O2U. Now Enter recovery (volume up, home, power keys together) and do a factory reset and choose reboot phone Check your CSC code again Hopefully it will now say XEU

Are you sure jje that my CSC will change to XEU if I flash KE7 using Odin?

Just thought I'd report my results - KIES was useless and failed to restore a buttload of stuff (erroring out on call logs). Google restored most of my apps and contacts, and titanium got the apps and their data. I had to set up my accounts (email, facebook, twitter) again, and so I lost any contact links. I also lost my home screen and applications layout information.
Not too bad really.
If your firmware contains more than one CSC then you change it and that requires a factory reset .
All the firmwares i have updated via Odin have been XEU only CSC .
Including the O2 rom posted .
Original O2 rom was O2U CSC every rom flashed since has been XEU every time .

[Q] Software Update and Google Services Framework Crash at Startup

Hi,
I just flashed my rom back to stock. I tried both stock 2.3.3 (DXKH2) and 2.3.6 (DXKL3) from sammobile.
Upon immediate reboot when the phone loads into the setup wizard, Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) and Software Update (process com.wssyncmldm) crash. After force-closing both, I poke the android and the two just crash again. Strangely enough, I could still receive smses while stuck at the setup wizard.
When I went back to unrooted ICS (XXLPH), setup works fine and there's no problem at all. (I was originally on rooted lph.)
I'm trying to get my S2 back to stock so... any suggestions?
Thank you.
(I'm from Singapore so DX is correct.)

Did you carry out a full data wipe before flashing back to stock.

Yep. I used the reset function in ICS before flashing back to stock.

Did you use odin to flash the stock rom, and you would be better of doing a full wipe in recovery mode. Also did you backup your stock rom before moving to a custom rom if so use that to flash back.

[Q] Debranded a phone but nothing changed

Hi all, I've had a few vodaphone S2s and debranded them with no problem, I got one today and flashed stock 9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XEULP5_HOME.tar.md5 odin said it all went fine, but it didn't reset anything, all the old messages and setting apps etc were still on the phone, the only difference about the phone is that this one had a swipe unlock rather than PIN does that make an difference?
Edit: my bad i forgot to wipe/factory reset, order is restored

[Q] I9100T: firmwared the stock I9100 JB test ROM and broke it

Hi,
In my ignorance I loaded on the i9100 rom from Samfirmware XXLSJ, and it loaded ok. However the modem doesn't work. The symptoms are: connects ok to 3g network, however will not txt/make phone calls, the phone reports "not registered on network"
So, I tried flashing the XXLSJ JB again, this time with another modem, one that is supposed to be for the T variant, I'm in New Zealand by the way and use Telecom. Same deal.
No problem i thought, ill simply go back to an earlier official Telecom version on ICS. However, this now hangs on boot up on the S logo.I went back to an earlier one, that one also hangs. I went back to Gingerbread, that hangs on start up also on the S logo too.
So some questions:
Can i run jellybean and use some new modem?
If not, can i put it back to original 4.0.3 official firmware without it hanging?
I'm using Odin 3.07 to do the flashing.
Thanks in advance, i'll just be happy with a working phone at this stage :silly:

[Q] Help! Cant update to Jelly Bean

I have a galaxy S3 which i bought brand new a couple of weeks ago. I live in the UK and its locked to the Orange network operator. The phone came with stock ICS 4.0.4 and i want to update it to Jelly Bean. I downloaded Kies from samsung.com/kies, attached my phone via USB and it says that there is a new firmware update ready to be installed. So after i click start to start the update everything looks like its going fine, a new box opens up asking me to agree a few things and then i click start. Then a new box opens up with an image of a computer with a cable coming out into a phone and writing saying its downloading the update. when the progress bar reaches 100% all of a sudden kies shuts down and does nothing, nothing changes on my phone and my laptop just goes back to my home screen. I have tried doing the same thing on my friends laptop and i get the exact same results, kies gets to 100% then just shuts down??? This is my phone infomation - Model Number - GT-I9300 Android Version - 4.0.4 Baseband Version - I9300BVLE4 Kernel Version - 3.0.15-554502-user [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 13 11:40:33 KST 2012 Build Number - IMM76D.I9300BVALE4. I've not found anyone else on XDA with the same problem but i've also read that i could update to jelly bean using Odin, would this void my warranty as i wouldn't want to do that because i've only had this phone for 2 weeks. Any help would be appreciated.
I had the same problem.., I'm on orange too.
Right First off orange have not released jelly bean and are by far the worst network in the world for pushing out updates, the update Kies is telling you about is old from ics. 4.0.4
Kies is a pile of crap mine would do the same at 100% so I gave up after trying for several days.
Go to Sam mobile and download the latest stock unbranded rom (btu) for the UK flash it with odin, this will get rid of all the orange rubbish and give you freedom for future updates from Samsung. As it's official software it will not effect your warranty.

Thanks mate, i've downloaded the unbranded stock UK firmware from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610 but it's a full version which is 780mb in size, if i installed this would i have to wipe everything first by doing a factory reset? i've watched the video on there and the guy does wipe everything because he wanted everything wiped but he didnt say you have to wipe, i would rather not wipe so that's why i'm asking this. If i was installing just an update to the firmware it would only be around 250mb in size, is there anywhere i can find just the 250mb add on instead of flashing the full version? as then i would be able to do it without wiping. Thanks again

How did it go? I am very curious as I want to do this myself (On orange too in the UK) Wasn't sure if it was ok to do this on a carrier locked handset, and was unsure if id lose my data settings etc. Confused about CSC too. So, if you've managed it an update would be great.
