You sign the app and put it in /data/app. Just so you know, you shouldn't have to moderator tag in your sig if your not a mod...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-4
You do so by just moving the system apps to /data/app and by just changing the permission. As previous post say to sign the apps, I frankly don't think the need to do so since changing the permission does good for me.
Titamium Backup.
"Just so you know, you shouldn't have to moderator tag in your sig if your not a mod..."

Help me..
How to install an system apk of samusng to a xolo mobile..
simply converting it to user apk doesn.t work..
Related
Most of the xda people knows how to copy apps to system/app using root explorer...
But when it comes to a number of apps.. the job is a bit boring..:silly:
The flashing package i've attached will help to do it easily ( Helping newbies, coz i'm a newbie..always..)..
Its a simple blank signed flash package which contains system/app path..
Using PC, JUST DRAG AND DROP REQUIRED APPLICATIONS (.APK) TO SYSTEM/APP folder path (dont put anywhere else..)
then move the flash_sys_app.zip to sdcard & flash via cwm..
Works on rooted stock and all custom roms...
DONE!!!:fingers-crossed:
:good::good:
N.B:
1) Make sure to check free space in rom and make sure ZIP SIZE < FREE SPACE IN ROM.
2) Make sure app names doesn't include SPACE...(else that app wont install)
What about just using App2Zip??
Nice though.
Shouldnt this be in General section? This is not some huge development or some breakthrough. Even a noob can create such a zip on his own.

App2zip is great choice..
But availability of apks gets limited to installed ones only..
That's not the case here..
Moreover it works also with stock recovery..

hi,guys.. i know all of you wanna create or mod an android apps and wanna use it or share.
i think newb like me already tried to change the image files from res folder of apk but the problem is edited apk files just dont install,it always say application not installed, the problem is the apk isn't signed, you have to sign it.. most of newb dont know how to sign apk. so here is an android app "ZIP SIGNER" it can sign your apk file. in this app just input your edited apk and chose output location and press Sign, and your apk will be signed. and you will be able to install your edited apk...... so try it.
here is the link www.4shared.com/android/rIOfv0YR/zip_signer.html
press the THANK button is my post was helpfull

Proof I'm a noob by asking these 2 questions...
Ok, i'm actually getting somewhere with combining some older icons in the Go launcher with the newer build (old one not compatible with my phone). Now, where I get stuck is after you sign the new icons into the apk- do you then load it on the SD card as is?
2nd dumb question: are you doing all this ON your phone?
Actually ita very simple, u dont have to compile it then signed the apk...
Use 7zip to open the apk...then extract res folder...change whatever picture u want with the same size and name then open apk again using 7zip then just copy the res folder into the apk to replace old one...done
bro can you move the download link to mediafire or upload.something?
cause 4shared block on my server and i'm tired of fixing it hehe. can you ? please?

Unless there is some really good reason to not root it, like its a work phone and you can't, I would go ahead and root and unlock so you can fix these issues by having root access to tweak with stuff or just flash a new ROM that has fixes included.
