I would, but my wife insists on keeping those things at least as long as something is in warranty.
Maybe someone else who doesn't normally keep boxes can help out?
Prime should work with his school wifi. AS SEVERAL as in same situation with their wifi performing fine on school network. He would be better off trying to exchange the prime. Or wait till after update coming Friday. Might improve his wifi. Actually if the school using ad hoc network then this update will fix it.

Hi guys, I'm wondering if i should get this transformer prime tablet. I've been reading alot of reviews thats its amazing and i don't doubt that, but also have been reading about the issues its been having (Wifi, GPS, Reboots). So im not sure if i should go ahead and make this purchase. Im posting in this thread cause obviously its about the tablet so you guys if not all many should own one. I would highly appreciate any feedback or recommendation from your part. Thanks in advance
Okay, first, there are a TON of threads on whether the Prime is a good tablet to buy. Searching and browsing is strongly recommended.
Second, that said, I'd say that if you want to use it in your car as a GPS device in place of your smartphone or a dedicated navigation unit, then don't get it. If you don't, then get it--you'll love it to pieces.

We are getting a lot of false issue claims too with trolls.....this thing is a beast....and is worth every penny.
Mine works great with the exception of the GPS. The wifi is a bit weaker than the TF101, but more or less identical to my GS2's wifi performance. Would buy it again in a flash.

Well I have been all day searching and reading other posts, and yeah i'm more inclined in getting it now. About the GPS i don't really use it on my phone either so its not a big deal. Just Wi-Fi thats what i mostly use since im home all day just kicking back browsing through the web. But thank you all for your replies. I appreciate your time and help.
My WiFi on my prime is better then my Inspire 4g, my Toshiba Thrive(all plastic) and my desktop running a 3 external antenna setup. I haven't seen any of the other issues that people talk about in my C1 serial Prime so idk what all the fuss is about.

Yeah I was seeing that post earlier.
Basically, if you have to use the prime at a location with very weak wifi signals, it might be a bit worse than other devices. Otherwise, wifi works great.

It's not permanent.
He means that if you pinch the area just below the camera (with your thumb against the screen) if solves the common green camera issue.
I just had my camera working for the first time in months by pinching HARD. It worked for a bit, then I changed modes and it went back to green screen. I would think that means I have a short. Has anyone taken apart their tablet and resecured the connection?
Yes, see my previous thread. Hint, you need a new camera module (eBay). No easy around it unfortunately . New camera (NEW, from the seller that got them from Foxconn/assembly line) DOES fix it though.

ebay link? I've never seen anything..
my camera turned green after 1 week of Jelly bean. About 7 months of use now. Bumps here and there but never a hard impact drop.
I really am skeptical of QC in Asus part. Mine was C2. Let's hope when I RMA it, I get a C3<
Just sent mine in for the green camera problem. I tried the Spock pinch method and it would clear it up but not completly. After a few pinches the camera has never worked again. I have another problem that I had to RMA and it was a good experience overall (execpt the fact that I didn't have my tablet for 10 days).

Well after receiving 3 clnr rezounds for signal problems my current one I believe has a bad proximity sensor. I was on the phone with Verizon today for a while and the tech offered to replace it with a incredible 4g or a razor. Now I know there is like zero development for the Inc and close to that for the razor so my question is what would ya'll do? Or would I be better off trying another rezzy? I do like this phone besides all the problems I've had.

Quit returning working phones. Quit looking at your bars. That is what I would do. The proximity sensors for our phones can be adjusted. Play store app called Rezound Proximity Sensor Calibrator.
Not trying to be rude but I see posts like these all the time where guys have returned 10 phones for various "problems". Interesting when I know of at least 10 people with Rezounds in my group of friends and family and nobody has had to return one.

it seems to be hit and miss. my first rez i bricked. the "replacement" one i received had a dead headphone jack from factory my latest one VZW had zero adhesive on the top of the screen leading to its death about a week ago. this time VZW said that the screen was my problem and that i would need to go the insurance route. i took it apon myself to repair it and order a new glass and LCD.
i wish i would have never bricked my first one. it was the only one without problems. all replacements from VZW have been crap. :/

The problem I was having with signal was lack thereof. The phone would show good signal but I couldn't make phone calls or use my data for a few minutes up to an hour or so. I have three other people with vzw smartphones in my household which would work fine.
The phone I currently have had none of those issues. I've tried the recalibration tools and it didn't work.

I never quite understood the reasoning behind that. I couldn't see the benefit of it. A friend has the iPhone 4, I believe he said the chrome piece around the whole phone was the antenna. That's a smart design, exterior antenna that looks good also. But I'm sure if any other manufacturer tried anything similar, lawsuit would arise.

Yeah that is strange being my issues were related to the signal. Verizon tech support and I always did lots if trouble shooting before sending a new one out but the never even brought up the back cover as a possible culprit. It would have been a lot cheaper to send one of them out to try versus a new phone.
Well I do have a update on my replacement phone. I called back again and explained to the tech support guy that I do not want a razor and that I really need a screen larger than the Inc. He said ok let me see what I can do and then offered me a Samsung intuition or a LG stratosphere 2 or something like that. Told him probably not cause the sammy had a 4 inch screen and the LG just looked butt ass ugly to me. He the put me on hold again and offered me a razor maxx and again I said I don't like Motorola. Then I brought up the dna and he put me on hold again and came back and said he got that approved for my replacement.
It should be here tomorrow afternoon so I guess we'll see how it performs. I really do dislike changing phones all the time.
Thanks for all your input!!

Yeah I know that they are not and all I want for a phone on a plan that I pay a lot of money for is one that I do not have trouble with every couple months. The dna does seem to be pretty solid from what I've seen.
I sure hope it does too. Which I will have to wait a little longer to see since I received another Rezound (with a new back cover I might add) in the mail yesterday Now I have to wait for the tech that helped me Wednesday night to call me back and see what happened.

This is gonna be a very profitable accessory I can tell already. People stuck with low internal storage capacities need a need a compact product like this to meet their storage needs. The design is quite suave as well which is a plus. I'll look out for it, hopefully the price point is acceptable.
I backed this as well, looking forward to receiving it. Should be perfect for heavy media use.

Should have been one whole piece of rubber or whatever they used for the hinge.
The issue (for me at least) was the rubber peeled off the plastic cover. I used a drop of super glue to reattach it. It's been 7 months and I've had zero problems with it. I think the phone looks butt ugly without the cover, so I'm doing everything I can to keep it.

How do you even install this ? Just wondering for future reference hopefully not anytime soon...... But does the thing that hold it in place just gets pushed in there ? how will you take the old one out ? Or do you have to take the whole phone apart, Making the phone not being waterproof anymore which basically will be pointless since that is the whole point of this lol

Or do you have to take the whole phone apart, Making the phone not being waterproof anymore which basically will be pointless since that is the whole point of this lol

Well no, but what other choice do you have? The bright side is it's only $5. I mean, the only other option is to get a wireless charging sticker (which breaks the water resistance anyway), or a real samsung wireless charing back cover. Both are more expensive than just replacing this flap every 2-3 months. I'm pretty disappointed in Samsung if this is truly the case though.

I hope I won't need to replace it though. A $700 phone shouldn't need the user to replace a part every 2-3 months. The GS1 (att captivate) had a sliding door that never broke in 3 years of use. Maybe samsung should have done that.

Just to let you know, tmobile would have replaced it, but don't go that route. They send refurbished phones that are more than likely to have more problems than your original phone.

Yea, I don't want a refurb. I have done that before with them and it was ok, but my phone was a year old. This one is too new!

How many people are having this issue? Sure hope mine isn't problematic like this. I'm getting an OtterBox Preserver case so i might just remove that cover to make it easier to plug in the charger plug. but then again, if the case were to ever fail, it would be nice to have that extra protection guarding the device.

So far, there's been 2 reports. One in this thread (obviously), and one in the accessories section. I've only had mine for about a month, so I guess that's why my flap is still fine. Hopefully it will stay fine though.
I found this for you guys. I'm definitely downloading this YouTube video for later use. I always seem to find youtube videos that have been removed when i actually need them lol

Hey guys. My phone is about two Months old our so and my charger port cover is already not staying shut good. I'm thinking about getting a wireless charging setup, but was trying to avoid it because of the cost. Anyone else having this issue?
Also what wireless setups is everyone running?

When you say broken off, it's actually detached from the phone or just loose?
