Hi guys,
Apologies if there's a thread about this already.
I just upgraded my firmware through the settings menu on my Galaxy S2 - everything seemed to go OK, phone rebooted, now it's stuck on the SAMSUNG GALAXY SII GT-I9100 logo on a black screen indefinitely.
Tried so far:
Removing battery for a period of time, then rebooting
Booting into recovery mode and emptying the cache (have not tried factory reset yet)
Allowed to boot for 30 minutes to see if anything would happen, nothing
Can you guys offer any advice before I consider more extreme measures? I've kind of accepted I'm going to have to format the stupid thing now. Should I do a factory reset before trying to flash the firmware using Odin? I'm about to try this:

To try to fix what I assume is a soft brick issue. Does this seem like a good idea?
Sorry if I sound like a complete n00b. I don't normally get this involved with my phone, but it's kind of forced my hand this time around

Hi guys.
I recently purchased Samsung galaxy sII and got it rooted. I'am not sure that if this is the source of the problem but ill describe what i did in hopes that someone will know how to help me...
I installed Litening rom on the first try and used it until decided to try other roms so i got here and grabbed the first one from the list in the Android Development section. Am not sure about the name of the rom but both of them worked as awesome as roms could get.
One day i downloaded Optimize tool box and when I was deleting cache i noticed that market had over 10 mb's of cache [am noob with smartphones] but when compared to the cache that other apps had it was quite a lot.. when i cleared it and clicked home button phone froze... Nothing worked so i decided to pull battery out. After that the phone was stuck at loading animation. After that I cleared all internal cache of the phone, reinstalled rom and it worked. But now am having a weird problem. From time to time phone either shuts down by itself or when remains screen locked for a period of time it remains black [home button does not return me to the lock screen, instead it remains black] and i have to reboot it to get it to work again.

Rooting is not the problem it worked .
Recovery mode and factory reset first option.
Follow that by a wipe and install stock rom and start over if Factory reset not cure problem .

hi guys how are you....few question i have...i had installed SolarFlare S2 v1.1- GingerBread 2.3.4 rom on my galaxy s2...this is what i have right now...but now i want install lightning rom version 5 but it won't let me....i used odin to put the rom....odin says it passed and everything but when my phone restart after lightning rom it gets stuck on blue s symbol and restarts by itself...anybody have any solution for this....and also i am trying to do factory reset if nothing helps...but i don't know how to do factory reset of the phone....if anybody has the link for factory reset galaxy s2 i will appreciate a lot....i want my phone the way i opned it first time nothing on it at all....please reply soon

its a known bootloop from litenning mate. what u have to do is go to litenning topic and find solution. i believe the way to sort this is download niphetamine kernel 2.0.5 and do this.
1.flash liten 5 through odin
2.factory resset
3.flash litenning again
4.on the top flash nip kernel.
it should work

To factory reset boot into recovery, by turning the phone off, then press and hold volume up, home, then hit power
Select wipe cache and data, you will lose all your data.

i understand what u said but how am i going to factory reset...my phone doesn't pass the GALAXY S2 BLUE S symbol......and it keeps going back and forth.....

Install a kernel with CWM and do a factory reset from there
Hello! I have international version of SGSIII and uptil now I thought I had a non-rooted phone (I still think that). This might sound a little noob-ish but since last night my phone has stopped turning on. It loads the samsung logo but thats about as far as it goes. I tried to wipe/factory reset the data through the recovery mode but that did absolutely nothing. Could someone please tell me how to fix this? I had flashed android 4.3 on it quite a few months ago. I am really stuck in a predicament!

Reflash latest firmware with Odin, then factory reset. Follow the guide in general forum, sticky thread.

First of all, sorry for my english, i hope everyone can understand my problem
Yesterday my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge shut down with an batteryload of 90%, after that it just entered a bootloop... :/
Since i've never had a CF or anything like that on my phone, i first thought of an hardware problem.
So i started reading here and some other forums, and tried as recommendet to flash the stock firmware via Odin3.
Now i can go beyond the Samsung - spondered by android or whatever it says - startscreen, the Blue LED starts and i enter the Samsung logo, which blinks for 3-4 times, just to reboot after that again... I also tried other versions of odin and other stock FW for my SM-G925F (Unbranded). Btw, also tried other USB ports, New Cables, Smart Switch... no Kies is running in the back while using odin.
Everytime i used Odin, it seems to work and my phone starts in the recovery mode with the little android guy, saying that its downloading sytem update... ERASING is the last thing he says after 20-30%, and the bootloop starts again. Also wiped cache and did Factory reset, but still no changes
I only used the 1 Part FW for odin. Hopefully that informations are enough for someone to help me out, but if there is a lack of informations, just ask for what you need to know further
I hope someone can help me, since i dont have the money for a new smartphone ^^

I've read everything what i found and still can't resolve my problem.
Today my friend brought me a Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 which after turning on stuck on Galaxy Tab screen.
Options with hard reset, factory reset etc.. wasn't work so i've decided to download latest firmware from sammobie and try upload it with odin. After first try, result was - fail! Tried again and the same was happen. Only one thing has changed - the device is automaticly starting in download mode.
I've read about PIT files, bootloaders and others, and nothing work, or it's not clear enough for me.
My eyes are bleeding because of reading...
Hope somebody help me.
