The app is great overall. I have been using it for some time now for fonts, ad blocking, start up apps, etc. I have tried changing some icons, but it's ROM dependant I believe, so it has worked on some, but not others. This is one feature I am not interested in though, so I have only tried it a couple of times. Never had bootloops from it or any other issues that were noticeable.
I have used it before for some tweaks and font changing, in Neutrino and Morrisoft roms, however in CM7.2 RC1 it gives me bootloop when changing fonts.

I've had luck changing icons on Blur based roms but not on CM7 based. It works great overall. Boot animations work no problem on every rom I've tried. Boot logo does not. I got issues with changing the notification bar colors though. It works but it's kinda buggy.

Used to change to Sony Sketch and no problems. I have seen in the past where it helps to select no when ROM Toolbox asks for reboot, exit out of the app, then reboot yourself. This can fix font flashing issues.

It does work on cm7 based roms. Its just that when you are using theme manager to add a theme. It will not change so I suggest u remove theme manager from system/app and reboot then stay with the launcher u like best. And re-do the installation of what u wanted then get out and reboot.

Fonts? Yes. Batt. Icon... sort of. I installed a battery icon via Tom Toolbox but it would come and go at will. Decided to do away with the icon completely when I switched to Nottactrix what with the Team Battery bar installed on the ROM. Hope this helps

:O:O:O:O:O:O:Ois ok????
I have bought and used the pro extensively.
With blur roms it wont change the battery or signal icon. Voicemail, downloads, debug will change correctly. WiFi is a bit temperamental - usually when connected it shows the changed version, when weak or connecting it shows the original.
With CM ROMS (haven't tested CM9, only CM7) it will change all the icons correctly but you can't change the Theme (T-Mobile Theme manager) or this will overwrite the selected icons.
The best thing you can do is take a nandroid backup first and then change to your hearts content.
Be warned though, don't try to change lots at once otherwise it will crash the framework and then you get bootloops.
Boot animations and fonts work brilliantly.
Hope this helps

First and foremost, this would not have originally been possible without all the hard work zimphishmonger and the3dman13 did to bring fighspit's original battery mod to the vibrant, please see the original thread here, and give them some thanks! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756441
I'm also borrowing zimphishmonger's warning, as i think it works to keep warning messages standard across all these battery mod threads.
WARNING: ALWAYS make a nandroid backup prior to installing any modification, including this one. You are making the decision to install this on your own, and I am not responsible for anything nuclear that may happen to your device.
UPDATE.. I lost count (10/5/2010)
So I dig Eugene's Frankin-twiz rom's, but I still want to keep my accurate battery mod, and well, I think his glossy-black skin is ugly. I also think the stock vibrant touchwiz skin is ugly (for the love of all that's holy samsung, why did you decide the vibrant would be the ONLY galaxy s phone to get your stupid glossy version of touchwiz?!)
So, I ported my battery mod to frankin-twiz and at the same time, ripped all the matte (non glossy) drawable's from the I9000 touchwiz skin, and added in my colored status/signal, mms, calendar, music player, and gmail icons, restored the black background for the power control widget, added HTC's weather icons to GenieWidget.apk, changed to the stock I9000 bootup and shutdown animation and sounds, and of course, I probably missed something else too, lol. You can see some (semi-outdated) screenshots here: http://picasaweb.google.com/113127051130934911253/AndroidStuff?feat=directlink
Also, if you find yourself being a typography nerd like me, you can use this zip to switch the default system font to Comfortaa I take NO CREDIT WHATSOEVER for making the original font, or the android port, I only re-packaged the files into a Clockwork-mod zip file for the vibrant. This will also change the lockscreen clock font to comfortaa, but ONLY if using the default android lockscreen.
Comfortaa system fonts: http://www.4shared.com/file/hYu1TYHL/Comfortaa_system_fonts_ONLY.html
New for ftwiz_final: I'm including an extra version with the samsung calendar AND the AOSP mms app, per Eugene's thread, since it resolves issues with being unable to send sms/mms messages. I'm also including the newest version of my battery mod (this is the version I personally like best and use daily), based on the upright/vertical icons, but with colored borders/outline, and a smoother charging animation (thanks to untermensch!) This can be applied on its own, after you flash either of the other versions. If flashed without flashing one of the other versions first, it DOES NOT contain the gmail/calendar/mms/music player icons, or the startup & shutdown animations and sounds. You can see a screenshot added to the post below too.
Download links here, ftwiz_final ONLY:
Removed, sorry, too many people use other people's work without giving credit, and it leads to way too many headaches, he-said/she-said, ignorance, etc.
Everything should flash via clockwork recovery fine, place the zip on the root of your INTERNAL /sdcard directory, reboot into clockwork, I recommend wiping the cache & dalvik-cache, then install zip from sdcard, locate the specific zip, reboot.
Enjoy, cheers everyone, and if you come in here posting bugs/whining for help without first making sure you cleared your cache and dalvik-cache, then I'm just going to ignore you,
Looks Great!!!
Thanks alot works well on my phone
i love it! not a big fan of the round battery icon, so this is great
Great work! Glad to see everyone is making their own customized battery images. We are gonna have a battery collection soon.
just a quick update to the OP with a new version with some colored/themed status icons.

I did, switched from the green circle. The battery indicator works fine.
I used the circle one but saw this with the other colored icons and thought they were cool. Seems that they don't quite work properly. Stock the GPS indicator shows in the notification bar any time it's on. With the new icons from the op the indicator is only on if I'm in an app that is using the GPS. I'm going to flash back to stock then to the battery only mod (i figure I need to to switch the other icons?)

Hi,
Thanks for trying it out. I have no idea how there might be issues since this is literally just img replacement from the segmented green circular battery mod, so however icons should work with that mod, is how they should work with this mod.
Maybe run a fix permissions from rom manager and see if that helps?
Also, my GPS icon has never worked like you described, even stock, (in other words, mine isn't always visible in notification bar, even when not in an app actively using gps, its displayed only when using an app that needs GPS, and disappeared when exiting the app.)
If you want to try and modify your own framework-res.apk with these files, I may upload just my png images once I'm done replacing/coloring all the icons I feel like modifying.
Thanks again for trying it out though, cheers
Lastly, I got bored and colored the wifi icons, cell-signal icons, and vibration indicator icon, I'll post the framework-res.apk in the first post, but won't package a new update.zip until I decide I'm done modifying icons, lol.

Hey again,
Glad I wasn't screwing up phone's, lol.
Anyway, I'm still working on changing all the icons, can't seem to decide where to stop yet, since now I've started modifying icons for other apps, gmail, mms, google voice, trillian, etc. And of course, now that I've gone with a slightly brighter green in the other icons, I may go back and tweak the color of my battery icon to match.
Anyway, here's a screenshot of some of the icons I'm mostly finished with (though for some reason I'm not digging the alarm icon, anyone have color suggestions for it?)
cheers,

Yeah...sorry about that. Anyway I hate that stupid icon to begin with so maybe something totally different? I did a GIS for alarm clock icon and there are a lot of possibilities. I think that maybe the stock one with a red square and white clock could be good.

If you don't already have it, I suggest you install Koush's Clockwork Recovery. You can install it quickly by using ROM Manager.
Once you boot into the recovery ROM, you can back up your entire phone using Nandroid (highly advised) and then you're free to experiment to your heart's content.
Now back to your question: you can save the file to your internal SD card and search for it using the 'Install from SD' (or something like that) option in the Clockwork ROM, install it and reboot.
Good luck, friend.
What's the right way to revert this? framework-res.apk restore?

Hi,
Yes, restoring your backed-up framework-res.apk will restore the battery mod. If you used the newer zip that also includes the Gmail icon mod, then you'll need to restore Gmail.apk too /system/app too.

Ok firstly big thanks to everyone on here helping me get this far
Secondly i have to problems with this mod:
In cyanogenmod settings i always get "force close" when i try to click the update notification button ?
Themes i can properly flash and install and they show in cyanogen settings but when i apply them the dont work, even after reboot ? , i have tried the three on wolfbreaks post to no avail
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
The update notification force close is because the files for it were not included because the X10 is not supported by cyanogenmod so the update notification doesn't actually function on our phone even if the file is included. This was discussed many many times in the main thread already.
As for your theme issues, you could try downloading it again and applying it again. It's possible the xml file was corrupted. What theme were you trying to use?

same here.. no theme changes.. fc in update notification and anonymous stats.. tried with both mine and my wife's x10s also but no changes. stock, stock_black, froshedyoV10, cm6.1.3-v4 all the same
ok thanks,
And yer themes i have tried setting and downloading reflashing , but to no avail,
i had one that nearly worked, but only got about 50% of the actual theme, then went to change it, and back and forth etc and never again did anything happen
cheers
Oh the theme I wanted to use was the gingerbread theme from the rom post but I also tried the theme already in it

welldont know what your problem is im using said rom with no problems everything works for me as thousands of others only thing i can think of is you have installed the rom incorrectly
try again but delete everything ie dalvik batt stat cash and full system then reinstall
I don't have a real solution for your problems with themes, but you could try others installing them with xRecovery, I installed "froshedyoV10".
Ah, yeah, taking advantage of this thread... I installed this awesome ROM and it's running so freaking fast, Im amazed! My X10 became ten times better, now I REALLY DON'T understand how Eclair 2.1 (wich it was laggy and slow) could improve the user experience more than Froyo... But hell.
cof, cof... OK, the only issue I have is my button leds, they don't turn on anymore since I installed CM. Anyone would know why?
This is a build ported from a vibrant setup, some tweaks that dfgas incorporated into the last few builds, some extra tweaks from here and there, and extended settings built in. It is very smooth and fast after letting it settle in for a bit.
Let me know how it is for you. You can wipe data or just cache and dalvik...I do all 3...enjoy.

Here is a link to the v6 supercharger thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
I would suggest installing the latest supercharger script...http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792186&d=1322022964 and the app script manager...http://market.android.com/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager
Download both, change the supercharger scripts name from .pdf to .txt, install script manager, go into script managers options and turn on browse as root, then navigate to the directory you downloaded the supercharger script to within the app, click on it, select run as root, then run. Follow the scripts prompts, and as a suggestion, I use option 7. This makes the phone fly even faster at all times even with many apps open. I would have incorporated this into the rom, but the developer would rather you visit the thread to get it.
Downloading now. Thanks!
First impressions:
(Background: Wiped all three from "mounts and storage" menu)
Appears to be based off of MIUI Android (UK port of MIUI) as opposed to MIUI.US. Not sure what diffferences (if any) apply other than the bootani and background. Amiright?
Extended settings built-in is quite awesome.
Noticed MiuiCompass wasn't in there (but DSP Manager was...awesome again). Attached in case you don't have the apk and want to add it in the future.
MMS sent over 3G on first try.
I am not sure which market you bundled with it, but I always go in and remove marketUpdater and add back in the old vending.apk. (This isn't a criticism, just something I do that might be good to know in case I have future issues that may be caused by that mod...I know I am probably rare in liking the old market.)
So far so good. Now I just need to grow a pair and figure out how to swap kernels in the zipfile so I can throw Glitch v13RC1 in there; at which point I'll truly have my "Flash one-and-done".
Great work, Rick S. Can't wait for the full list of changes/tweaks! Thanks again.

Compass.apk should be in there, but thanks anyway. Basically if porting from a "stock" setup, roms wont differ very much at all, but another difference is that the reboot options are capitalized. I would love to have glitch v13 in there, but its not publically released yet. I do install it on mine though. All you need is the boot.img and the lib/modules folder...modules need to match boot.img that was built.

I wasn't suggesting you put V13 in there. I was just commenting on my own lack of courage to do it myself more than anything. Thanks for the tip though.
Been installing apps and such basically nonstop since install and listening to music on it. No issues. I did update to Glitch v12RC1 right off the bat as well.
So far, this seems to be about as stable as the 9-16 release which has been my fall-back. I've had the fewest issues with that one. Hopefully this one will be my new 9-16. (Will find out when I get home and see how it handles the wifi/3g handoff that seems to have been causing the most problems on the latest few roms for me)

GSM and CDMA roms/kernels aren't cross compatible. The phones share a name, that's it, they're pretty different when you get down to the nuts and bolts (or silicon and copper.)

I actually ported the MIUIScotland 1.11.9 ICS framework I9000 rom to the fascinate. It seems the only difference are a couple added files within the framework and a few files elsewhere, along with the version number in the build prop. Its not even worth playing with though. There are no noticeable differences anywhere. Waist of time just in case anyone was wondering or has heard of it.

;-)
I am running cm7 week 7 and using rom toolbox free. I have been trying to change all system fonts, but when I go into rom toolbox preferences and check all the fonts listed, I get a hang at the m logo screen. I then have to restore my backup to recover. Any idea what I can do to change all fonts? I've got some fonts changed, like web pages, this forum, all apps. Mainly the icon labels are the only ones that wont change.
Bump for any ideas?
When you reboot after changing fonts, do you do it from the Rom Toolbox prompt?
I had issues with this a while ago and found that the best way was to install the font in Rom Toolbox, then select no for reboot, exit out of the app, then reboot.
@caelan t: yes I also learned my lesson with doing that. However that is not the problem. In the settings of rom toolbox for fonts, I check all the fonts in there. When I then go to reboot manually after installing, it just hangs at the m screen and only a battery pull and restore my backup remedies. Its like it only allows for 5 fonts to be changed and the icon fonts aren't one of them. Any ideas?
How long do you give it to reboot?
I have tried a lot of the fonts and never have problems other than not liking almost every font I try.

I've let it sit for 20 minutes. Just stays on the m logo.

Thanx for trying.
So I made this thread to get some feedback and stories from other people of their experiences with the ROM Toolbox app on the Samsung galaxy player 5.0/4.0 U.S. and International version. How have your experiences been? For me pretty much the app is useless because if you try to change anything it will throw you straight into a bootlopp. So before you use it remember to do a back up on you clock work mod recovery Anyway what have your experiences with the app been and what do you think of it?
On my 5.0 US using the GenericGinger rom, it doesn't cause any problems. Custom boot animations don't work on the default settings from stock, but are perfect on Entropy's kernel. You can change icons, but they don't always work correctly - I changed the battery icon to one with numbers, but now it only shows 20% increments (the icon supports 1%0). The build.prop tweaks do work - the DPI is quite handy, and it successfully blocks ads. However, some parts of the themng do not work - I have tried multiple notification backgrounds with no effect. I think it's well worth getting.
As a side note, are you running a deodexed rom? If not that may be your problem.

Yeah I'm using 2 roms actually one is Ergybits 2.3.6 based custom rom with and the other is tsnuras cm9 aokp rom. At this moment i am using the cm9 based rom, but when i was using the ergybit rom, it would always put me in a bootloop whenever I tried to change anything, i havent tried it on this one, because cm9 is pretty much customizable in every aspect so the need has gone away, but it didnt seem very useful to me. Concerning the custom boot animations, I heard that a lot of people had been having trouble with them at that in worst case scenarios it even bricked some peoples devices, so i didn't even try going near that.
