Wep-Crack (aircrack?) For android? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
Is there a way to crack wep with a android phone?
Or may its possible to install aircrack on android?
Metin

Short answer: No.
Long Answer: You could run aircrack inside Debian (or Backtrack) on Android, but there is no way to redirect control of WLAN hardware to the Debian image, as of yet, so it would not work. Other than that, you'd need hardware and drivers capable of packet injection and monitor mode, as well as a version of aircrack-ng that has been rewritten to compile and run on Android (utilizing busybox, perhaps), which does not exist. This theoretical version of aircrack-ng would also need to be able to interface with the specific WLAN drivers involved.
That being said... who uses WEP these days, anyway?

Yes it is. At least with the G1, I am not sure about other devices but you could look around.

What exactly does this do?

If you have to ask its probably best you dont know.

You could just use the backtrack installer on Android. all the tools you need to get that handshake

[Q] Internet Pass-through ?

I was reading the review of Desire S at GSMArena, didn't know it can support Internet Pass-through natively,
When you plug in the microUSB cable you’re presented with a long list of options - Charge only, Disk drive (mass storage), HTC Sync, USB tethering (use the phone as a modem) and Internet pass-through (the phone uses the computers Internet connection).

Can't find Internet Pass-through on ICS anywhere can you navigate me to it if it even exists? I don't have WiFi at home, so it's really important to me

[Q] Can we access internal storage?

Can we access internal storage? And if so how? Can we add/delete files?
Yea. Doesn't give option to storage when USB connects. Was just asking the same thing.

Select "Media Sync" - It uses MTP and the device will show up as a separate drive in Windows Explorer.

I have the SDK on all my machines at home and work just so I can do stuff via ADB. I'm not a developer or anything, just comfortable with cl interface from the old DOS days. It didn't occur to me but that could be why MTP works on my Win7 box. I honestly don't know enough to answer that.

[Q] Razr Maxx - Mobile HotSpot (stock) - 4.0.4 ICS (stock, but rooted) - NO CONNECT

My Razr MAXX is running stock Verizon OTA 4.0.4 (.211) ICS. It is rooted. I have used SQLite Editor to modify Settings Storage (the one with the hammer and wrench) to modify the Settings.db, settings table and have changed the value for entitlement_check from 1 to 0 (and rebooted and checked the same file again to make sure that the change was written successfully to the table, which it was). I can start up Mobile HotSpot without any errors and without being asked to signup for a $30.00/month plan with Verizon, so we know that the entitlement_check hack has done its magic. Mobile Hotspot seems to run without any trouble.
My Windows 7 Pro (64bit) notebook sees the SSID created by my phone, and will attempt to connect to it, but when I do, I get this error:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The problem is with my notebook, because my Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet (Android) will connect to the wifi created by the Mobile HotSpot without any errors or problems.
I realize that this is an Android forum and not a Windows forum, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?
The samething used to happen to me when I was on gingerbread. I used to change the password of the wpa2 key and sometimes turn hotspot off then on again and it would work. I still have the entitlement check at zero now that I'm on ics but I haven't tried the hotspot to connect to another computer yet. Ill give it a try and let you know if I get the same problem.

I found that my WiFi chip is from RealTek (8188CTV or 8188CIV, Can't make out the model name, too small) whereas my tab has some HTC port rom which has the driver for Broadcom's chipset. I found the driver, its RTL8188CUS. But I don't know how to compile it for Android. Please help me to uninstall Broadcomm's driver and install RealTek's. My custom ROM is running on JB
Thank You
Any progress with fixing the battery life/ wifi driver ?
There are drivers for 8188CUS in realtek site which are till android 4.0. I am not sure but the same can work for android 4.1 too

Nop ... guess just leave the tab. It was such a waste of money ... RealTek provides the uncompiled version of its driver. Lot of things to configure to compile it. And You need to make a custom ROM to install it too. I wasn;t able to find a method to install / uninstall drivers from Android.

App to Power On Rooted S8 with USB Power?

Hi guys!

I have successfully rooted my S8 via TWRP and loaded Magisk, am running Noughat/9.0
Any suggestions or help very much appreciated.
**NOTE: S8 doesn't run a boot loader I believe so that hack wont work on my phone **

Hi....Universal Android Root is another application accessible for Android gadgets that allows you to root your gadget without a PC. In contrast to Methods 1 and 2, the application isn't unreasonably well known and it probably won't work with some Android gadgets. That being said, if Methods 1 and 2 didn't work with your Android gadget, maybe this one will.
As the application is old, it should work with more seasoned Android gadgets and firmware forms. Like Framaroot, this application likewise includes an underlying alternative for unrooting your gadget. The application can establish upheld Android gadgets in five to seven seconds.
