Reccomendations - Motorola Photon 4G

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a new ROM to use and I'd like to get some reccomendations before sticking to anything.
I'm looking for something with a long battery life.
undervolted/underclocked ROM would be awesome, but I could do that manually.
Not BFS
deodexed, or what ever's standard.
I'd love to try ICS on my phone (it's wonderful on my Xoom), so if its 4.0.x, that'd be a plus.
Or Gingerbread
Thanks~

My opinion but great battery life on CM9 is going to be an issue unless you spend a lot of time testing and tweaking. Still may not get to where you need it. Battery seemed to drain fairly quickly for me but I didn't spend any time messing with the CPU settings.
Might try one of Jokersax11's Skinny roms and go from there (have heard great things about them). If you want ICS you will have to go CM9 or the MIUI port. Both have excellent interfaces and a ton of support.
There are a lot of roms I haven't tried and best way to find out is to just start flashing. Sorry I can't be of more help.

MIUI is my recommendation

Rocko's my recommendation

Lol. I'm on rocko, and I recommend it to but I'm still on 1.1. I really like MIUI, but it was causing a bad battery drain and battery to get heated. You might not get the same results as me though, so maybe try it.
Edit: just read you want long battery life. Rocko for sure then.

It true, i would leave my phone there. Not doing anything and an hour later my phone had lost like 25%!
1) do a proper battery calibration
2) take a good look at your apps, there are lots is poorly coded apps that drain battery.
3) do all tests on a stock kernel (not overstock or cw)

I have Trigger and I think it's the best Rom. I found that when phone is in idle battery drains really slow but when display is on battery drains very very fast.
How do we do a proper battery cailberation?
Try Darky's 9.3 Final for vibrant.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973811
It's 2.2.1, not 2.2; but it's similar, stable, fast and good battery life.
Personally, I love it and generally get a good day's use with a good amount of operation time.
Then download "Super Manager" from the market and use the widget that comes with it. It's the most reliable and effective task killer I've ever used. Make sure to enable root permissions and check the "clean system memory" (or something like that) box in the settings of the app.
For themes, go to the i9000 forum and
1.) download the theme you like (should say if it's for Darky's 9.3)
2.) Explore the file and delete the "services.jar"
3.) do a Nandroid Backup (as usual)
4.) flash it.
5.) Enjoy =D
Hope this helps your search!

You're running some apps that drain your battery. I've gotten 30 hours plus from both Trigger (older version) and the latest Bionix. On the newest Trigger right now and it's even better.
Are you in a low signal area? Are you using screen brightness on high? Are you leaving wifi on when not connected to a network? There are lots of things that can cause poor battery life. I can assure you it's not the ROM.
Sweet Honey 2.5 running 2.2.1! by far the best.
Battery life is amazing and signal is great.
running it stock install OS 1.4.1 kernel and ka6 modem.
I have the same question like u, I want to find a really amazing ROM too
First off, asking a question like that you will never get a straight answer.
Reason being: If everyone thought the same ROM was the best and only used the one ROM, there would be no need for the other ones on there.
The right answer is going to depend on what you are looking for. More speed? More battery? or somewhere in the middle.
I have run most of the current ROM's from EDT, and TW. They are all pretty damn amazing. What is going to make more of a difference will be what Kernel you are running. Also, if you OC (overclock) or UV (undervolt). There are going to be other things that will eat battery. Mainly apps, mail, and anything else that depends on wireless data when the phone is idle.
read, read, read.... I was once a NOOB, and by all accounts, still am one. (just a noob that has flashed a lot and read a lot in these threads)
what an arrogant and stupid way to start a call for help thread by insulting one if not the best custom rom out there. Seriously try thinking brfore making such an idiotic statements.

The best rom I have used is Atriac v2. I like Team Whiskey roms.
Atriac is just as fast with Voodoo disabled as it is with it enabled. Quadrant benchmark is slower with Voodoo disabled but as many others have said Quadrant isn't an accurate gauge.
I have one app that used to take at least 5 seconds to load. Lag fixes greatly reduced the apps load time. Atriac with Voodoo disabled loads that app just as quickly as using a lag fix.
Besides being the fastest, Atriac is the smoothest rom I have used.

First man, don't insult the Dev's on here. They all spend their time developing Rom's, Kernels, Themes and many other great things for our phones. Insulting them does not help you get your problem solved and makes people not want to help you. We love our Developers here and show them respect for the work they do for us. Whenever you have a problem with a ROM don't insult the Developers work rather first see if it is truly the ROM or if it is user error (no offense intended). Next if you still don't like the ROM then flash a new one. There are plenty to choose from. I personally use Simply Honey 2.5 with Overstock 1.5. Battery life is good, super smooth and really snappy. Give it a shot hopefully it might answer your questions and be what your looking for.

Do you want funtionability or wow factor? I vote powerwash v1.2 for functionability and JT's Vanilla gingerbread for wow factor. I will warn you... there is a issue with gingerbread leaked roms(cm7, miui, vgb, aosp) frying sd cards.

I agree, if you want everything to work correctly and be iron clad go with Froyo based roms. I personally like the Evil Fascination. But the Com Rom2.1 has more features and customization. But once JT figures out the GB roms they will be what you want.
This where I'm a bit of a n00b...
Right now I have CM7 build #19 (the last two haven't downloaded for some reason, they get stuck at around 20%)..
I like the themes I have gotten my hands on with the CM7. I've been told CyanogenMod is the way to go always.
I did have an MIUI ROM for a little while until I got CM7.

Im getting almost 2 days battery life on powerwash with normal usage. If im constantly web browsing, downloading files, or excessive talk time, then 12-14hrs. Basically it seems like my battery life almost doubled vs stock.
Here is my setup:
Powerwash v1.2 rom
otb-fusion kernal

Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
In the theme section... there isn't a lot of themes on this rom tho. This rom is a daily driver per say.
I like MIUI better than cm7, it's got all the same things working (and broken) and runs just aas well but i really like the look and customizability.
This damn cm7 has made me feel like I'm going deaf at 28. The radio is so quiet.

[Q] whats The best Evo 3d CDMA rom?

Hello xda!
ive just upgraded from the evo shift to a evo 3d i unlocked the hboot 1.5
i know that i have to use fastboot to flash roms/kernels
im just wondering what everyones best setup is?im looking for something with good battery life and alot of tweaks.I dont really really care for eye candy or themes lol they would be nice but i noticed the themed roms ive tried have bad battery drain.ive tried pretty all of the recent ones on xda but im wondering if there are any older ones or something that are stable and have tweaks with good battery life?

ViperRom by far. Super fast, stable, and smooth and has every mod you could want out of a sense rom minus beats. (but who really cares)
I prefer Virus' "infectedROM Eternity™" best one I've used so far... (love Cyanogenmod, too)
Deck's 1.0 for compatibility and battery life. Synergy for blazing speed and near stock feel.

I've tested almost all of them, and I'd have to recommend either InfectedROM Eternity or Warm TwoPointThree. Those two offer the best stability and speed without sacrificing battery life.
Or do like others have and spend some time testing all of them.

you can't go wrong with either warm 2.3, eternity, or clean rom. Used miui (both variances) and now unnamed. Battery life is about the same and is largely depended on kernel. Used siyah for miui and entropy dd for unnamed. The reason for leaving miui was skrewed headset volume. Still monitoring to see if it gets fixed.
They are all awesome other than that.

I've tried both Unnamed and ICScrewed... didn't like the latter. Unnamed caused me some problems though since it flashes the baseband to UCKK6. Caused my wifi to go haywire and resetting every couple minutes. Once I flashed the modem back to UCKH7 things seem to be a bit more stable... so far.
SensatioN because Crysis is the man.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I've literally been on every rom available for the SGH-i777. When I look for the rom that makes me happy, I look for the one with the most complete features. The only one to make me completely happy with battery life and features was UnNamed v2.0+. this rom is always kept in the most stable with almost a next day release if someone complains about anything. That's what I love about this rom. When people were having stability problems with the latest Entropy Kernel they changed it up and downgraded the kernel that very same day! Also, who was the very first rom to feature a working NFC?! GTG is a very friendly guy, ignores you if you dont get around the thread though, but its fine because if you question has been answered, why answer it again? Search next time!!
Anyways. Prior to UnNamed, My favorite was personally GalnetMIUI, official build with Task, the only thing that really kept me away was its instability, such as the screwed up headphone bug, which seems to be in CM7 pretty badly. (WHY HAS NO ONE FIXED THIS?) and the fact that there was no NFC, seems to be lacking features, and a lot of them. With MiLocker, I seem to be happy with UnNamed, I don't run into any problems except a delayed lock screen but meh, Who really locks there phone just to unlock it a second later? Lol.
So seriously, UnNamed 2 for the win !!

WiFi issues are resolved for his and my ROM sir
I ran Unnamed all day yesterday, but I switched back to MIUI. I just think MIUI is more polished than any stock ROM, and has more features that make the phone more enjoyable to use. The battery life has been great, and it's been very stable. Every now and then I get the urge to try something else, but I don't really see a reason to switch.
i put UnNamed on mine first and really liked it but wanted more ICS flavor, so i switched to ICScrewD. really like the jkay app that comes with it. both were very stable for me and didnt have any problems, the only reason i switched was for visuals
I have tried and love all the roms. I finally settled with miui. All the features and menus just flow. It's fast stable had great battery life and has tons of themes to choose from. I might be biased since I ran miui on my captivate and just got used to it. I do change the launcher and run go launcher.

Been on unnamed since day one, but recently switched to ICScrewed, and I'm liking them about the same so far, though I'm warming to ICScrewed.
I do like that ICScrewed has more bloat removed, and I LOVE jkaymod. If you want more customization, try out ICScrewed.

[Q] What is the best ROM for my Amaze?

Hey guys! I'm excited to be here and I hope I get some good advice. (Who am I kidding? I KNOW I will!)
Anyway, I recently bought my HTC Amaze 4g for T-Mobile and I think I am in love. But I soon realized that I was getting about 2 hours of moderately heavy battery usage before it was giving me battery warnings. So I rooted, and installed Android Revolution HD 1.1.0 and my battery life has been much better. But, being the impatient newbie I am, I installed it before I read that it was a bit out of date. Basically, what I want is a ROM that is up-to-date, highly supported, has great battery life, is very fast, doesn't have a
sht load of bloatware, and is extremely stable. Hopefully this isn't asking to much from the developers here at XDA. So, any of you had this sort of experience with a ROM?
Thanks guys!
i say go with xboarders bulletproof rom, he will be updating it probably today, i was so impatient i just flashed w/e he has up now, and its amazing!, as for as battery life goes, i cant say anything as of yet. Only had the rom running for a few hours.

+1 thanks for the quick reply! I will look at bulletproof. Maybe you could get back to me when you know about battery?
My opinion is one of xboarders since they are based on the most recent firmware and are pretty stable.
If you want Sense use Bulletproof.
It has CRT animation and a fixed advanced power menu.
If you want AOSP-like (still technically Sense... just some HTC stuff removed like Rosie) use BeastMod.
Also with CRT and advanced power menu (i believe).
As far as I know he is the only developer that actually owns the device and is good at maintaining the support in his forums. It's difficult to support and keep up to date with a device that you don't own. That's probably why Android Revolution HD 1.1.0 is out of date.
That's just my opinion.
