[Q] Galaxy S2 ICS - GO SMS Contact call problem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello..
I have upgraded GO sms to latest version which solved double sms problem on ICS firmware of Galaxy S2, but I noticed one problem with this release of GO SMS.
When you click on contact icon in GO SMS list, a popup appear with Call, Detail... option.
After clicking on Call. GO SMS shows you possible numbers to call. But with the latest release of GO sms I cannot see phone numbers. Instead it shows me some garbage text..
Did anyone else facing this problem?? Is this because of GO SMS of a bug of ICS.
I am using I9100DXLP7 version of ICS

Updated to latest GO SMS pro this morning and I don't experience the same problem - sorry

this one also has the same problem

I'm having the exact same problem. However, I'm on an HTC Inspire running Gingerbread (CM 7.2.0-RC1). I assume this is a recent bug in the app, and it will (hopefully) be fixed soon.

SMS/Text Message Issue/Bug

I have the Samsung Galaxy S II from Bell Mobility in Canada (Model GT I9100M) and for some reason, when I send a text message to someone (been happening in the last half hour), its displayed on the top. Meaning lets say someone texts me "hi, how are you?" and I reply "not bad", my message should be under the theirs right? Its not, its on top and any message I send goes on top of their messages. So basically my messages are grouped in the top and their on the bottom.
Thoughts?
Download SMS Time Fix from marketplace and reboot. It should fix the SMS time stamp. It did for me and I'm using Bell Samsung GS2 too unlocked to Rogers.

Thanks for the tip! Also, when I send a new message to a new number, it goes to the bottom of the list. So the older convo with a contact is at top first, then the newer contacts in the bottom. I assume the fix will correct that right?
Edit: No luck at all
Its a known issue, even on mg Sensation. Try Handcent SMS.. Been using it for years now on multiple devices.

So it has to do with the network I assume on Bell's end? I haven't had this problem on my Atrix or previous Bell Android devices. Ya I might as well just install handcent.

Go SMS Pro sending issues

Ok, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 on T-Mobile, not sure if this is the same for all carriers.
I have been using Go SMS Pro. Never had any issues till they updated it a few updates ago..I have uninstalled it and reinstalled. The problem is, that some Text (SMS)messages won't send, they FAIL. It don't matter if it's short (5 or less words) or long. or to who it gets sent to. I can, however, exit out of this app, and try to send it using the stock App that came with the phone and it sends without any issues. I am lost at this point as to why it keeps happening, or how to fix it.
Has anyone else experienced this isuue and if so, how have you fixed it?
I have alos tried to use Hancent SMS and it also did the same thing..
hmm i'm having a similar problem, but mine does send after a while instead of failing to send completely. Sometimes, my text messages will be stuck during the "sending" animation, where the green arrow just keeps loading and doesn't stop (which means it's not sent out). After a while, it will send out, but that's usually after i send a txt to someone else or if i exit and restart GO SMS PRO, or do something else. I'm not sure exactly but it just works after a while.
It's nothing to do with bad signals either. I'm not sure if it's because I've updated my Motorola Milestone to CM7 RC1, because i've never had this problem before on CM7 RC0. I dunno, it could be due to basebands as well? For my Milestone, I can choose to switch between basebands in the settings (provided by CM7 itself), but i've never had this problem before so i dunno....
I actually gave up on that app...happened quite too many times.. I now use Hancent SMS and never have this issue again... It also was happening to a co-worker and she did the same thing after I told her about it..

Sorry, as silly as this sounds...I gave up on this app a long time ago and went with Hancent SMS Pro...only had this issue once with them and found out on my type of phone Galaxy S2, I can't disable the other SMS apps in Handcent, I had to leave it enabled...so try that with Go SMS Pro...I don't know/remember if Go SMS had this option in the Settings...Good Luck...let us know if that worked or not...
Had the same problem using Go SMS with two SIM cards. Both failed to send to certain numbers; so it's not an issue with providers. Solved this way: Go SMS settings, More tools, SMS blocker, Settings, disable all black list and white lists. The app runs normally again. The developers should take note of this.
hhhmmmm... same here... I can't send SMS using GO SMS Pro to my Samsung Galaxy Note 1. But I can send message using the ordinary app here which has only 80 characters.... What should I do? How can I fix it? But it works in my Motorola phone.. hhhmmm....
Just go to your app manager, then choose ho sms pro, then below the premissions part. You can see the options on sending premium sms. Select ASK and try if it works again...

[Q] Unable to send SMS: Hydrog3n ICS 1.8

I'm having trouble sending SMS's with the latest Hydrog3n ICS. It comes up with "sending failed" and drops my GSM signal. I've searched the settings and unable to find the message centre setting. But strange enough is I'm able to receive SMS's.
Anybody else having this issue?

Before you do anything else. Have you tried simply reflashing the rom? Or maybe just restarting the phone? Sometimes these simple things should fix your phone. And it is advisable to format cache and format system too before flashing a new rom. Please ask away if you need some help with this.
Have a nice day.

It's the settings from within the Messaging app. Open Messaging > Menu > Settings. Scroll about halfway down. Should be under "Text message (SMS) settings".

I'll try that and see. Although I really think it's a glitch in the ROM (or messaging app) itself.

Hmm. Hydrog3n not a stock based ROM? The setting is there in the Samsung stock messaging app.
Okey dokey. I've reinstalled the ROM after a full wipe as suggested and the issue persists. I've also tried flashing CM9 (20-3-2012) with the same result. This is insane. Am I the only one with this issue? Or am I the only one still texting?
It seems like I'll need to roll back to CheckROM while I wait for an update . At least I'll get 3 days on my battery again

I'm having the exact same problem, perhaps it has something to do with network specifics here in south africa. CM9 forums do have this problem on their bug list, but it doesn't seem to be present in most users. Desperate for a fix though, at some point i gave up and tried different roms where sms worked, was painful using anything else after using CM9 or Hydrog3n, so i'm back, rather use cm9 or Hydrog3n than anything else even with the sms problem...... ........ hopefully a fix comes soon.
Problem solved
I have solved my issue withthis, it turns out to be a problem with the SMS center number (smsc) using *#*#4636#*#* you can access the phone details and you need to update the smsc number to the appropriate number for your carrier. I was getting update error msgs when trying to update this, so the solution was to insert your sim into another phone (i used a blackberry, settings, sms,...). From what i've read part of the problem has to do with the old 34K sim cards.

When download mms, alarm goes off

Hi,
I have the SGSII ICS XXLPH and since the ICS upgrade, everytime I receive and download a MMS, an alarm-like sound goes off. I cannot find where that file is and I set the Sherbet sound as default.

Can't send sms!

Hi
Strange bug here, I can receive sms, call, receive calls, surf on the internet, but I can't send sms!
My config is in my sig.
It happens on both roms so it's not Rom related, I tried to flash again the modem, even restored efs but no help.
Some ideas?
What network are you on??

Sfr in France. I don't have time yet to see if it's a provider issue. It worked till yesterday evening.
Usual is SMS settings message centre wrong details .
jje
Right, I fixed it, but it's not possible on aosp sms app ? Go sms enables to customize it. On stock Rom no problem with stock sms app.
