flashed skyrocket stock.tar by mistake!!!! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Like the title said, and now even thoug it goes into download mode, it doesn't go past the att logo when tried to flash the att stock .tar' or if I try and flash any other rom (rooted), it doesnt go past "android" animation. It goes black and that's it. I'm afraid I damaged something really bad, and won't be able to fix it. Any thoughts?

If you can go into download mode, just flash stock Note rom through Odin. I figure that's how you flashed skyrocket.tar.

Like I said, already tried that, my flash counter keeps increasing (30+), but same results. Maybe messed up the bootloader, or something?

which skyrocket tar did you flash? Make sure you get the right version
Try a full restore see here.

Can you get into CWM mode?

If you can boot to Samsung logo the bootloader should be fine. I would re download the stock note tar and then Odin. I had a bad tar and had the same issue but I didn't flash a tart from another device. Flash cwm in Odin to see if you can boot into cwm first.

Thanx all for your replies, I found my answer in other thread. My problem was that after flashed the stock.tar, when I tried to go to recovery, the phone just vibrated and vibrated, SO I followed the instructions of that member, and voila! Went into recovery, factory data reset and everything was fine. Thanx to ya'll.

[q] cwm 3.0.2.8

Hey all,
Totally went back to stock...so started with DL09 and then proceeded up to ED04. I installed CWM (red) and rebooted into it and then rooted my phone. Worked great...this morning decided to wipe the battery stats...now it just goes to the Samsung (blue) recovery one. I decided to reflash with ODIN and it still just gives me the Samsung one. Any ideas on how to get this working again???
It sounds like your flash may have failed. Maybe try it again. It might be easier and more reliable to use heimdall in this situation as well.
Also, I know it's early, but this is a question and should be posted in the appropriate section.

Go from odin straight to cwm, do not reboot after odin

You have to download this and ODIN to the phone ...
Code:
http://goo.gl/QCYxT
... What's happening is when you are booting up fully it is replacing the new recovery with the stock recovery... flash this, then flash CWM .. all will be cool!!
More information can also be had in this post..

Heimdall works like Odin. Cwr is being overwritten by the stock kernel, you should flash a custom kernel if you want cwr to stick.
*Edit...beat me to it. :/

You may have to flash a custom kernel to get your recovery permanent. I did the same thing to get the ed04 ota.
1. Flash the dl09 tar file in odin, don't reboot.
2. Flash the cwm3 odin file of your choice, don't reboot.
3. Boot into recovery using the 3 finger salute (should be the one you just odined).
4. Flash the custom kernel of your choice & reboot.
That should keep it rooted & keep cwm available to you, at least it did for me. The key, fwig, is to repalce the stock kernel cuz that is what will replace cwm when it boots.

[Q] Phone wont boot past Samsung logo

Greetings All,
So I was using DarkyRom at one point and then I decided to go to MIUI. Tried it for awhile, did not enjoy it so I wanted to go back to Darky. So I went to flash the kernel and when the phone rebooted it went past the logo screen and straight into a pitch black screen. So I left it for ~ 10 minutes and nothing happened. stayed at the black screen. So I pulled the battery out and now the only part of the phone I can access is the Download mode (had to pull the battery out to get out of that as well, would not switch off). So how do I fix this? Is it a boot loop? I have Odin but this PC has never had KIES or the Samsung drivers installed on it so I am not sure if that will cause a problem. Also I was using a KI3 build, can I flash stock KH3 (from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) with Odin and will the phone still work?
Any assistance (or reassurance that its fixable) would be greatly appreciated.
Probably fixable flash a stock rom from the stock rom thread as first step.

Using Odin? And can the stock be a KH3 ROM?
*edit*
Found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348374&highlight=black+screen+after+boot+logo Would this work for me? Even though I was using a MIUI ROM?
Agreed, try wiping cache/data and flash stock ROM with bootloader.

I've looking for days for answers and got nowhere. Still need a CWM flashable Stock Recovery file and no response yet. All files are Odin.

you don't need to remove CWM
You only need stock rom and stock modem. If you have that go to the Samsung site and get your upgrade.
Ok, this is what I'm trying to do. I'm going to exchange the Note for the Galaxy S3 before my 30 days are up. I need a complete stock phone. How can I get a complete stock phone?. Now I'm partially rooted.

Devs won't respond because there are already threads in place in the development section with the necessary files. You should be able to use Odin without any issues.

Unable to boot - Stock firmware

Hey guys,
I decided to start my phone with a clean slate and un-root it via installing the stock firmware I9300TDUALF2_I9300TVAUALF2_VAU
I've done this before and it's never been a problem, but now my phone will not start up properly. It gets to the Samsung flashing logo in the boot animation and just stays there forever (literally).
I tried 2 (from sammobile & androidromupdate) other different Australian firmwares and still the same thing.
I've flashed CF-Root on the phone, booted up into recovery and installed a few different custom ROMs but the same problem occurs, it just stays put on the boot animation for eternity.
Normally I'm able to work out this sort of thing but I'm at a loss this time
Any ideas?
EDIT: Forgot to mention,
#1.) The startup sound plays during the boot animation if that makes a difference.
#2.) I've tried flashing it from 3 different PC's, with both Odin v1.8.5 and v.3.07
#3.) When I flashed Foxhounds ROM, The whole install ran through fine (Aroma) so I don't think this is a file integrity issue.
EDIT EDIT:
#1.) The phone feels warmer than usual (not hot, just warm, warmer than it normally is when idling) during the infinite boot animation
Hmm I was going to say flash different ROM via odin. Since you have done it already. Can you try flashing different and rooted rom. See how ya go. Make sure the rom you download match the md5. I always face such issues but re flashing helps. Download any other rom copy to external memory. Since you have access to recovery. Flash via recovery. Good luck.

Shall do thanks
It's hard finding a ROM that offers a .tar/.md5 version though? Any recommendations?
I'm also in the process of downloading "Rescure Firmware" to give that a shot - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6

Well most of the devs put the md5 along the download links. I use Wanam Rom. It's fast and stable. Download if you like. The md5 is given too. http://wanamlite.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=13141

Ive found out how to fix this, but everywhere I go there are dead links. Damn megaupload. This isnt my phone and I dont know anything about voodoo. Any directions to where I may find usable links?

Basically make sure your doing the GB Bootloaders and recovery at the right time and proper way

The upshot is that every time you use this file to go back to stock, you should odin the GB bootloader again at some point during your process. I generally like to do this:
1. odin CI500blahblahblah.tar. reboot and let it come up.
2. power off and go back into odin. now do the gb bootloader. use PDA, check "update bootloader." reboot and let it come up.
3. power off and go back into odin. now do the old cwm for CM7 recovery. 3-finger reboot directly to that recovery (don't let stock rom boot or it will blow away that recovery you just flashed).
4. flash whatever ROM you are going to from that recovery.
5. Profit.
i actually do all my odin stuff without any reboots and never boot into stock. i flash all odin packages and then go straight to 3 finger recovery.
ThanksThanks

It used to be important to let it boot through the stock recovery if you were re-partitioning the device, because the ext4 partitions were then built on top of the stock ones. ODIN couldn't create the MoviNAND partitions if they were corrupted, but the stock recovery could.
The new LVM formatter might be able to handle it, I'm not sure.
