First download a custom recovery like CWM, TWRP or 4ext.
It should be .img file. Put it in the folder in which you have fastboot.exe.
Boot into hboot. Open command prompt and instead of adb reboot recovery , use "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (file name should be recovery.img or change command according to the file name). Then type fastboot boot recovery.img. Recovery should boot now.
To make things easier just download free version from here (this will flash 4ext recovery) ----> http://4ext.net/
and install the latest or stable release. then adb reboot recovery will work.

But can not boot into the recovery which flash by "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", when in android ,use command "adb reboot recovery", can not boot into recovery, and HBOOT still no recovery menu.
Before you started this process did you make sure to enable usb debugging from within your rom ?? Also did you make sure to uncheck fastboot in the power settings as well ??

You need to place a copy of the img into your adb tools folder then run the commands

So I was able to easily unlock the bootloader but when trying to install recovery I get the following: "error cannot load recovery.img" Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have fastboot and recovery.img in same folder so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd really like to install Kens rom and restore my phone to my liking.
First not a major issue your just not typing something right or not placed right
Lets do this !
2nd Please Remove install_recovery.sh located in your /system/etc/ ,so that the recovery will not be overwrite to stock one.
you dont HAVE to it will still work just wont have the stock recovery.
1st make sure the moto-fastboot or fastboot (they both work i have tested )file is in your c:\
you have to cd the drive first so make sure its in c:\ the commands on the guide for cwm needs
to be updated this will help you out.FYI make sure all the files are in one folder not the root drive
so name a folder (whatever) then cd that folder from cmd.
Dont use " " just showing you commands
Then go to cmd
"cd c:\moto-fastboot" or fastboot
click enter
then type "moto-fastboot flash recovery recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029.img" or fastboot
click enter
Should say writing\sending
Once your done and it completes
type moto-fastboot reboot or fastboot
enter
P.S. Depending on if your using fastboot or moto-fast boot
commands would be
"fastboot flash recovery recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029.img" Fastboot
"moto-fastboot flash recovery recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029.img" moto-fastboot
And if you were wondering
Moto-fastboot is for bigger files
fastboot is for smaller files
They both work because the recovery is in
the middle in size for both fastboots.
hi,
I can not boot into recovery. I can only boot into fastboot, can flash twrp-1.0.3 or 1.1.1 or cwm-1.0.4.1,but when I choose recovery from fastboot mode, I just reboot and stuck at splash screen and reboot after about 10s and looping.
BTW, I have hboot 1.5 and s-on, and accepted 2.08 OTA, and followed the HTC method to unlock the bootloader.
Any idea? thanks in advance!
can do adb method?? first thing u must have fastboot.zip
if u have been unlocked u might have that fastboot thing....
if u have it just boot up ur device, after that prepare for adb method
open command prompt type cd "\folder_location" [enter] *without quotes
after redirect to ur folder location just type adb reboot recovery [enter], and u'll get boot to recovery

when you're at the splash screen and then it reboots .. usually means there is an issue with the kernel/recovery.
have you tried fastboot boot c:\android\cwm-recover.img ? with the hboot 1.5, this method is preferred as it will grant the recovery write access to the kernel.
if you still have your heart set on loading the custom recovery thru booting normal recovery mode, have you tried using the PG86IMG.zip files to flash the recovery.img?
hope that helps!
hi im getting fastboot mode started
udc_start()
i tried using fast boot reviving post but
im erasing recovery successful
but when i execute fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
im getting an error that not loading recovery.img heip me.......
Try typing the entire path to the recovery file.
follow this to flash custom recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318750
for the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", recovery.img refers to the file of your recovery. try doing either:
a) make sure that the name of the recovery file is "recovery.img".
b) change the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" to "fastboot flash recovery (name of the file).img", where (name of the file).img is the actual name of the recovery file (for example, if the name of the file is thunderg.img, the command would be "fastboot flash recovery thunderg.img)
Everytime I try to it just reboots the phone. Im currently using cwm and have tried flashing the other recovery renamed as PH98IMG.zip and it will not overwrite it. Any help would be appreciated. I've also tried fastboot, guess I wasn't typing in the right command

fastboot command to flash a recovery. type "fastboot devices" to make sure your computer is seeing your phone in fastboot.
"Fastboot flash recovery nameoftherecovery.img" You will need to unzip the file and pull the actual image file out, and put it in the same folder your fastboot file is in.
I did that. I typed fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and it doesn't take it
I want to flash the amon recovery on top of the cwm
The recovery image is named... recovery.img
What else can I do to get my phone into recovery ?
Have you tried "abd reboot recovery"?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
in fastboot type "fastboot boot recovery.img" then it will boot straight into the recovery image that you want to load. It isn't permanent, but it can get you a working phone in the mean time

Yes its possible.
Rooting is absolutely not required.
Follow the steps below
1. Download the latest 1.40 firmware from nubia india website support page. [Direct Link]
2. Then open the zip file and extract the recovery.img to local folder. Transfer the zip as it is to SD card
3. Goto fastboot/bootloader and run following
Code:
fastboot -i 0x19d2 flash recovery recovery.img
4. Then select reboot to recovery from bootloader menu.
5. Select wipe all application
6. Then install the downloaded zip [i hope you have already know how to do that]
It will automatically reboot.
That's it you are done downgrading

If you want custom rom
Goto TWRP wipe everything
if above fails then try out following
Option 1:
Goto Bootloader mode and from that menu goto emergency recovery. Try wiping from there if successful, flash a stock rom [Kitkat] and boot to system. After first boot goto settings and reset factory settings. Then goto TWRP and wipe, it will wipe for sure. then you can install any custom rom
Option 2:
Download the oldest firmware from the nubia site [1.37] and flash recovery from there [extract the recovery from zip and flash it in bootloader]. Then use
Code:
fastboot -i 0x19d2 boot TWRP.img
to boot to twrp, don't flash it. Then goto advanced and select adb sideload. swipe to start sideload. after that open the zip you downloaded and got to
Code:
/META-INF/com/google/android/
and open updater-script with any of the text file. Delete the first line and save. update the zip.
open cmd from that folder where zip is located. then type
Code:
adb sideload NX529J_Z69_EN_NSXPK1JD00K137.zip
and press enter. let it complete and then reboot. it should boot to factory firmware. Follow the same procedure to factory reset from settings menu then flash TWRP and flash custom rom
Use the above steps. If all fails then revert back.
Thanks going to try
